Here are some NRL Round 1 betting trends at Sportsbet (http://record.sportsbetaffiliates.com.au/_T6yDmweRiXdgPsK79SR1nWNd7ZgqdRLk/1/specialoffer3):

Sharks v Broncos (Thu)

The market was turned upside down once Valentine Holmes was ruled out. The Sharks went from favourites to outsiders as a result of six times as much money being invested on the Broncos. Brisbane 1-12 is the most popular winning margin, while Darius Boyd has been the best backed to score the first try of the new season.

Bulldogs v Storm (Fri)

Twice the number of bets have been placed on the Storm to get the job done, however the bigger bets have gone on the Bulldogs. Both sides have been backed to win 1-12 so Sportsbet customers are expecting a tight one at Belmore on Friday evening.

Rabbitohs v Tigers (Fri)

The early money was with the Rabbitohs, however as soon as Adam Reynolds was ruled out the Wests Tigers' price began to firm. Seventy-five per cent of money on the line has been with the Tigers, who are receiving a handy start. James Tedesco is the overwhelmingly popular pick as first try-scorer although Robbie Farah is the second best backed at big odds.

Dragons v Panthers (Sat)

Penrith are the best supported side of Round 1, and one of the shorter priced teams as a result. The only real money Sportsbet has seen on the Dragons has been at the line, where they're receiving a hefty points start. Panthers 13+ is holding more money than St George-Illawarra 1-12 and 13+ combined.

Here are the remaining NRL Round 1 public betting trends:

Cowboys v Raiders (Sat)

This is a great betting game and Sportsbet (http://record.sportsbetaffiliates.com.au/_T6yDmweRiXdgPsK79SR1nWNd7ZgqdRLk/1/specialoffer3) has seen only slightly more money on the Cowboys, but more smaller bets on the Raiders to score an upset. Canberra's price has been shortening by the day so punters are seeing plenty of value in the visitors' price, and particular interest in them at the line.

Titans v Roosters (Sat)

The Titans were posted as favourites with Sportsbet (http://record.sportsbetaffiliates.com.au/_T6yDmweRiXdgPsK79SR1nWNd7ZgqdRLk/1/specialoffer3) originally, but 85 per cent of money on the Roosters has turned things around dramatically. The Roosters are now pronounced favourites and no side has received more backing over the past fortnight to win the premiership and to make the top eight.

Warriors v Knights (Sun)

The Warriors are the shortest priced team of the round, but Sportsbet (http://record.sportsbetaffiliates.com.au/_T6yDmweRiXdgPsK79SR1nWNd7ZgqdRLk/1/specialoffer3) punters are keen on the huge price being offered for the Knights. Incredibly, there are more than twice as many bets on Newcastle in the head-to-head market, and Knights 13-plus is actually the most popular winning margin at ridiculously big odds.

Sea Eagles v Eels (Sun)

The money is running 8:1 in favour of Parramatta in Sportsbet (http://record.sportsbetaffiliates.com.au/_T6yDmweRiXdgPsK79SR1nWNd7ZgqdRLk/1/specialoffer3)'s head-to-head market, but punters are tipping a 1-12 win for the Eels rather than a 13+ result. The gap in odds between the two sides has been closing by the day. No surprise to see a stack of money on Bevan French and Semi Radradra to open the scoring.
