Punters aren’t predicting an upset in Wednesday night’s opening State of Origin clash with the Maroons heavily backed with Sportingbet Australia (http://www.sportingbet.com.au/partners.asp?btag=a_806b_464) to win game one and the series.

Sportingbet Australia CEO Michael Sullivan said Queensland had been well backed in just about every market with a 3-0 clean sweep the best backed option for the series score.

“The Maroons have been backed from $1.60 to $1.45 in the past ten days to make it seven series in a row,” Sullivan said.

“A 3-0 Queensland whitewash has been backed from $3.85 to $3.75 with one punter having $3000 and another bet of $2000.”

Sullivan said there was no money for New South Wales to win the crucial opening clash and punters were even backing the Maroons to win by 13 or more.

“There has been huge money for the Maroons straight out at $1.48, to cover the line of 5.5 and for a 13+ win at $3.00,”he said.

“The biggest bet on the Blues so far has been less than $2000 and the Maroons look like only getting shorter in betting.”

Anyone got any money for tonights big event ?

I'm cheering on QLD all the way.. but have a tiny wager on Tony Williams to score a try.. just $2 @$5... seems like pretty good odds for T-Rex.. thinking Carney and Pearce will look for an inside ball close to the line to barge him over..

Other than that.. cant wait for the game to get on the way !!

Didn't stand a chance of my bet with Ricky Stuart taking so long to put on Tony Williams and then not leaving him on very long..

Yeah, Williams looked pretty handy when he was brought on.

Was tempted to take QLD at the line, but stayed clear. I wanted to just enjoy the game so I stayed clear of betting on it.
