Rafael Nadal vs. Nicolas Almagro

All-Spanish quarterfinal match at 2012 French Open where Rafael Nadal meets his countryman Nicolas Almagro. World Nr.2 player Rafael Nadal, who celebrated his 26th birthday last week and is currently tied with Bjorn Borg with six French Open titles but if all goes as planned this week, Nadal will break this record of the legendary Swede on Sunday and become unarguably the best claycourter of all times. Rafael Nadal pushed his Roland Garros record to 49-1 (only lost to Robin Soderling in fourth round in 2009) after an easy win over Juan Monaco in last round. The Spaniard has shown some commanding form in Paris this year and has never lost fewer games in his first four matches than this year (dropped 19 games). On the other side of court will stand Nadal´s countryman, Nicolas Almagro who is also an excellent claycourter and a player whose record in Roland Garros is very disappointing as he was 13-8 in his eight visits and reached just two quarterfinals (2008 and 2010) before this year. Poor result for someone who won 12 ATP Tour titles on the dirt and added five runner-up finishes. Nicolas Almagro is an offensive baseliner with good serve and his groundstrokes, particularly on his favored forehand side, are very powerful. Nadal´s excellent form has been already mentioned but Almagro is also playing great tennis now and won 8 matches in a row, all in straight sets since an ATP World Tour event in Nice. This makes it 20 sets won in a row for Almagro with just one tiebreaker! Rafael Nadal is mentally one of the strongest players and he also holds an unbelievable record in matches against his countrymen. Their Head 2 Head stands at 7-0 for Nadal but Almagro put much better fight in their last four meetings and kept the scorline relatively close. Nicolas Almagro has the game to be Nadal´s first real test at 2012 French Open and make him work hard for the win. The lines for total games for this match seems to be set very, very low and we recommend a tennis pick on over 29 games that would be easily cover by one solid set by Almagro but you can also take higher lines here. Nicolas Almagro can surprise many people today.

Here is another French Open tennis pick from our web site:

Parlay: Maria Sharapova, Rafael Nadal

Final two matches of 2012 French Open where Maria Sharapova meets Sara Errani on Saturday and defending champion Rafael Nadal will try to win his seventh French Open title in match against Novak Djokovic on Sunday. We have already published tennis pick on Maria Sharapova 2:0 victory over the surprise package from Italy - Sara Errani - but decided to also include her in this parlay. Sharapova became the World Nr.1 player after victory over Petra Kvitova in the semifinals and now can make it to history books by winning French Open and completing the Career Grand Slam. She really was by far the best player of this year´s Roland Garros and her experience, power and much better serve should make the difference in match against Sara Errani who already won the title in doubles competition. The final match on Sunday is a dream final and a blockbuster match between World Nr. 1 player Novak Djokovic who will also try to complete his Career Grand Slam and win four Grand Slam events in a row but he could hardly have a more difficult opponent against him as beating Rafael Nadal on red clay of Roland Garros is undoubtedly the most difficult task in this sport. Djokovic defeated Nadal in last three Grand Slam finals and also seven times in a row during last season but Nadal bounced back and beated him on red clay in Monte Carlo and Rome this year, both times without loosing a set. Rafael Nadal is in absolutelly brilliant form this year in Paris and is yet to lose a set and will be 100% motivated to beat his rival as clearly as possible and become the unarguably best clay courter of all times. Taking one set off Nadal would already be a good achievement for Djokovic. Combining 1.298 on Nadal and 1.248 on Sharapova on PinnacleSports parlays market make it a parlay with odds of 1.62 and this is our tennis pick.
