Unbeaten mare Atlantic Jewel is a clear-cut $1.07 favourite to continue her remarkable winning streak in Saturday’s Stocks Stakes at Moonee Valley.
It is the shortest opening odds a horse has been for a Saturday metropolitan race since Black Caviar opened at $1.12 before her final race in the TJ Smith Stakes at Randwick back in April.
“I was just getting over the nightmare of Black Caviar,” Sportingbet Australia CEO Michael Sullivan said.
“I’m expecting the same big punters that used to have six-figure and seven-figure bets on Black Caviar will be back to have a decent crack at Atlantic Jewel winning on Saturday,” Sullivan said.
“She should probably be $1.01 as nothing will get within five lengths of her,” Sullivan said.
Oasis Bloom is a $15 second favourite, ahead of Fibrillation at $26.00 and Ava’s Delight at $31.00.
Atlantic Jewel is a $3.10 favourite for the Sportingbet Cox Plate, run at Moonee Valley on October 26.
