2015/16 NBA Champion + ROY betting

I was having a look over the 2015 NBA odds here's a few that look good to me:

NBA Champions: San Antonio Spurs @ 11.0 Odds

They're old, no doubt about it.. but they're still a rock solid team. Also Kawhi is betting better and there is a lot of talk about Lamarcus Aldridge heading to a Texas team.
If they sign Aldridge those odds will drop by half to 5.50 and even if they don't they're worth a look at 11.

Rookie of the Year: Karl Anthony Towns @ 9.0 odds (Stan James)

The #1 pick, playing with Minnesota. He's got a good opportunity to produce and at those odds it's very good value. In the last 28 years, the rookie of the year has been the #1 pick 13 times (46%).

There are 4 other guys that seem to have a shot: Russell, Okafor, Mudiay, Porzingis. Also Joel Embiid is still classed as a rookie since he didn't play last year, but he's in danger of missing this season too so I wouldn't bet on him at this stage.

Cheers for the insights Roboman. I see San Antonio have already shortened to 10.00. They're such a well coached team as you said, they have a really strong squad.

Cleveland were unlucky with injuries in the playoff finals and given the Eastern Conference remains pretty weak they're a good chance of making the finals again. I've heard LeBron has opted out of his contract with Cleveland but is expected to re-sign with them.

Another interesting team will be OKC who had a horror run of injuries in 2014/15.

Thanks for the stat for the rookie of the year. Is anyone offering ROY odds yet?

I've just seen an article looking at the rookie of the year odds (https://www.sportsinsights.com/blog/...kie-year-odds/). The writer likes these two:

76ers C Jahlil Okafor (+500) – Although Okafor is the favorite, history tells us that top-three picks traditionally win the Rookie of the Year award. Philadelphia should be without Embiid for a long stretch, and Okafor has the type of polished post game that should immediately translate to the NBA game.

Nuggets G Emmanuel Mudiay (+1000) – Although Ty Lawson still projects as the starting point guard, this draft pick seems to indicate that Lawson may soon be trade bait. The former Tar Heel star has been rumored in trade talks for a long time, and his departure would create immediate opportunity for Mudiay. Players who dominate the ball typically post lofty statistics, and with limited competition I wouldn’t be surprised to see Mudiay duplicate John Wall’s rookie season (16 ppg, 8 apg, and a low field goal percentage).
