    NM4's MLB Plays

    Plays for today

    Red Sox @ 2.10 (B365) x 2 Units
    Red Sox -1.5 @ 3.15 (B365) x 1 unit

Red Sox are the better team, with a fair bit of hitting power. Red Sox are the underdog in this one purely because Chris Archer is the starter for the Rays but he has had a poor season and while being better in his last 5 or so starts, his record against the Red Sox powerful batting line up is poor this season - 0-3 wuth 8.10 ERA. Buchholz (Red Sox starter) while not as good a pitcher as Archer has a strong record against Tampa 8-7 with 2.63 ERA in 20 starts. Backing the stronger batting line up in this.

Today's plays went 1-1, unfortunately Red Sox couldn't get the extra run to cover the -1.5 handicap.

    Current record: 1-1
    Units: +1.2

    Bets for tomorrow
    Tigers @ $2.00 (Ladbrokes) x 2 units

    Multi
    Tigers & Red Sox @ $3.22 (Ladbrokes) x 1 unit

Tigers batting line up are hot at the moment and have a good record against Twins this season.
Red Sox starter Porcello is having a great season and has a strong record against Tampa Bay this season as well.

Today's plays 1-1 again, with Red Sox butchering an easy out to give the winning run in extra innings.

    Today's plays

    Angels @ $3.35 x 1 unit (Bet365)
    Angels -1.5 @ $4.75 x 1/2 unit (Bet365)

These are the sort of match ups I love to look for.
Blue Jays are the better team with the better starter for this match but..............
Weaver(Angels starter) has won 4 of 5 in Toronto and 10 of 12 overall against Blue Jays.
Happ (Blue Jays starter) while having a career best year has a horrible record against the Angels - 0-4 with a 8.00 ERA!
Angels are a poor team but they do have a potent hitting line up when they are on.

Went 2-2 yesterday, for 4.22 units profit.

    Record 4-4
    Units +6.42

    Today's play

    Royals @ $2.42 x 2 units (Sportsbet)

Royals are hot after being pretty poor for most of the season. Kennedy(Royals) has been very good lately and the Royals bullpen has been pretty much unhittable lately.
Wright(Red Sox) coming back from shoulder injury has been very good this year but has given up 20 runs in last 4 home starts.
If the Royals starter and bullpen can continue their good form the Royals might not need many runs to win this even with Red Sox potent batting line up which only managed 6 runs in last 3 games against the Rays.

Alright after the rush to get that bet on.

Like the Red Sox -1.5 as Price has a great record against the Royals and Duffy has been awesome this year for the Royals but has struggled against the Red Sox and struggled even more at Fenway Park. Just feel like the Red Sox offence is going to explode in this game as they were a bit unlucky in yesterdays game.

Yesterday Royals won 6-3, so 1-0 for 2.84 units profit

    Record - 7(5W-2L)

    Another play for today

    Rangers @ $2.35 x 1 unit (Bet365)
    Rangers -1.5 @ $3.75 x 1/2 unit (Bet365)

Rangers are normally very strong at home and while Griffin had struggled lately he has an okay record against the Indians and Carrasco has a 5.59 ERA against the Rangers. Hoping for the Rangers offence to fire in this one.

    Plays for tomorrow

    Rangers @ $1.95(Crown Bet) x 2 units
    Rangers -1.5 @ $3.05 (Bet365) x 1 unit

Rangers are very good at home and with Salazar really struggling lately (19.29 ERA in August) and has an average record against Texas. Holland has a reasonable record against the Indians and if he can hold them to 2 or 3 runs, maybe even 4 runs I think the Rangers offence can cause enough damage to get a win.
-1.5 for extra value as always.

Rangers won 2-1, got lucky rally as the Indians had loaded bases with 1 out in the 9th but couldn't get a run across the line.

    Today's plays:

    Royals @ $2.14 x 3 units(Sportsbet)
    Royals -1.5 @ $3.50 x 1 unit(Bet365)

How can you not bet on the Royals at home at these odds? They are the hottest team in baseball at the moment and at home even they are 40-21, which is pretty amazing considering how average they've been this year.
Pineda has also been very average in his last few outings and with Royals hot bullpen Gee only needs to pitch okay to give Royals every chance to win this one.

    Giants @ $2.36 x 1.5 units(Crownbet)
    Giants -1.5 @ $3.40 x 1/2 unit(Bet365)

Giants have the more experienced pitcher who has been pitching well lately - 1.75 ERA in last 4 starts. Montgomery has struggled with walks since being traded to the Cubs.

    Today's plays.

    Royals @ $2.10 x 1.5 units (Ladbrokes)
    Royals -1.5 @ $2.95 x 1/2 unit (Bet365)
    Giants @ $2.15 x 1.5 units (Bet365)
    Giants -1.5 @ $2.95 x 1/2 unit (Bet365)

Royals have cooled a bit since their hot streak but I like them here. They are the better team, have the better bullpen and have more to play for.

Giants have struggled since the All-Star break but Samardzjia has a good record at Coors field and against the Rockies overall. He has also been good in his last 5 starts.

Dodgers starting a inexperienced pitcher with only 4 starts and his results haven't been great. Robbie Ray on the other hand has been good lately and he also has a 1.95 ERA against the Dodgers.

    Thoughts on above matches

Red Sox -Porcello by far the better pitcher and should make it hard for a Blue Jays team struggling to score anyway.

Rays - Pineda is struggling lately and Snell has a 1.89 batting against average when playing against the Yankees, think they can cause an upset here.

Marlins - Kershaw returns for the Dodgers but will be on a pitch count and Fernandez is nearly unbeatable at Marlins Park with a 1.91 ERA there this year.

    Red Sox @ $2.40 (Pinnacle Sports) x 1.5 units
    Red Sox -1.5 @ $3.30 (Bet365) x 1/2 unit

Red Sox in with a huge show here even with Sanchez's(Blue Jays) 5-1 record at the Rogers Centre and 13-2 record with a 2.92 for the year. Buchholz(Red Sox) has been very good in his last 4 starts but his record at the Rogers centre is actually better than Sanchez's, he is 11-3 with a 2.18 ERA, and some of the Blue Jays batting starts have really struggled with Buchholz. Throw in the fact the Blue Jays have been struggling as a whole anyway, winning only 3 of the last 10 and Red Sox look like value.

    Angels @ $2.15 (Bet365) x 1.5 units
    Angels -1.5 @ $3.30 (Bet365) x 1/2 unit

Colby Lewis is back for the Blue Jays after 2 months out but he has struggled in his minor-league rehab starts, giving up 11 runs in 10 innings. He also has a poor record against the Red Sox with a 6.26 ERA, even though he won both starts against them this year. Weaver has a modest record against the Blue Jays but held the Rangers to 1 run back on April 10.

4 bets with 4 units outlayed.

    Rangers @ $2.15 (Bet365) x 1.5 units

Rangers starter Perez has been pretty good in his last 2 starts, he also has a 5-3 record with a 2.45 ERA against the Astros but did lose the last start against them. Fister on the other hand is in a horrible run, giving up 15 earned runs & 26 hits in just over 12 innings with only 3 strike outs. He is also 0-5 in last 7 starts at Minute Maid Park and gave up 7 earned runs and 10 hits in 3 & 2/3 innings last start against the Rangers.

    Red Sox -1.5 @ $2.30 (Bet365) x 2 = 4.6 units
    Royals -1.5 @ $2.30 (Bet365) x 2 = 4.6 units
    Multi - Royal -1.5 & Red Sox -1.5 @ $5.28 (Bet365) x 1/2 unit = 2.64 units

4.5 units outlayed for possible return of 11.84 units (7.34 units profit)

Important you structure bets so either bet wins it covers the outlay on all 3! So adjust units size slightly depending on price you can get from your bookie.
Red Sox and Royals both are the better teams and have the better pitchers. Hopefully that translates into decent wins by both.

    Play for tomorrow.

    Yankees @ $2.65 x 1.5 units = 3.97
    Yankees -1.5 @ $4.50 x 0.5 units = 2.25

The odds are out of whack here. Yankees are big outsiders due to the fact Kershaw is pitching for the Dodgers. But Kershaw is having his second start since 2 month out with a back injury. His 1st start back wan't anything to write home about lasting only 3 innings and 66 pitches. He will be on a pitch count as well, and with the Yankees having the better bullpen and the odds should be a bit closer.

Rangers have dominated the Astros this year to the tune of 15-3. Astros starting pitcher is making only his 8th overall start and last outing against the Rangers he gave up 5 runs and 8 hits in only just over 4 innings. Rangers start Holland is 5-2 with a 4.19 ERA in 12 starts against Astros.

Not a good day. 0-4, losing 4 units. Been a bad couple of days for my baseball bets, look to bounce back over the next couple of days.

Hoping for some better results on with the MLB today. 2 plays.

    Angels @ 2.30 x 1.5 units (Bet365) = 3.45 units
    Angels -1.5 @ $3.75 x 0.5 units (Bet365) = 1.87 units

    Cardinals @ $2.00 (Unibet) x 1.5 units = 3 units
    Cardinals -1.5 @ $2.85 x 0.5 units = 1.42 units

4 bets with 4 units outlay.

Angels are due for a win and they have a great opportunity to get one against Dickey who has really struggled this season. Trout who is in a HR funk is 6 for 13 against Dickey and the Angels offence might get going in this game. Weaver has a 11-2 record with a 3.31 ERA and a good WHIP of 1.07 against the Blue Jays in 14 starts could give the Angels every chance as well.

The Giants have been horrible since the All-star break and young Luke Weaver has been good in his six starts for the Cardinals. Moore is nothing special and Cardinals have one of the best offences in MLB this season.

    Rangers @ $2.74 (Pinnacle) x 1.5 units = 4.11 units
    Rangers -1.5 @ $4.25 x 0.5 units = 2.12 units

I don't normally bet on play off games but just see the odds here as too generous. Blue Jays have dominated the series so far but the Rangers are a good team and are only 4 from 37 with runners in scoring positions in the first 2 games. If they get as many runners in scoring positions in this game as they have in the past 2 I think they will win it. Lewis is an experienced pitcher and will put in a solid performance and Sanchez was lit up by Texas during the season. I also love betting against streaks, Blue Jays on a 5 game winning streak and Rangers on a 4 game losing streak.
