The world’s fastest mare, Black Caviar, is a $1.06 favourite to make it 24 wins from 24 starts in Friday night’s William Reid Stakes at Moonee Valley.
Despite the short odds, Sportingbet Australia CEO Michael Sullivan said he’s once again anticipating a barrage of big bets for the six-year-old sprinting superstar to win her final race in Melbourne.
“The big punters open their shoulders each time she races and I’m expecting a number of six figure bets for her to win again,” Sullivan said.
“She’s been lining punter’s pockets for years now,” Sullivan said.
“Punters have invested $42 million on her with Sportingbet throughout her career and she’s cost us more than $8 million,” Sullivan said.
