    Bookies limitations

    Hello,

I'm from Spain and here bookies tend to limit or even close your account as soon as you win a good amount of money. I saw an article in brittish newspaper 'The Guardian' which said that, in New South Wales, the government had brought in a law in order to prevent limitations from happening. Could someone tell me is this is true and if all the bookies are respecting this new law? Above all I'm really interested in bet365.

Thanks you so much for your feedback.

    Hi juatorgra89,

My understanding is that the new minimum bet limits apply solely to New South Wales (NSW) Thoroughbred races, unfortunately.
    http://www.racingnsw.com.au/default....splay&id=16086

For Australian Wagering Operators with Net Assessable Turnover on NSW Thoroughbred races greater than or equal to $5 million
Race type Bet (Win and/or Each Way/*Win & Place)
Metropolitan NSW Thoroughbred races Wagering operator to lose a minimum $2,000 (*place component $800)
Non-Metropolitan NSW Thoroughbred races Wagering operator to lose a minimum $1,000 (*place component $400)

For Australian Wagering Operators with Net Assessable Turnover on NSW Thoroughbred Races less than $5 million
Race type Bet (Win and/or Each Way/*Win & Place)
All NSW Thoroughbred races Wagering operator to lose a minimum $1,000 (*place component $400)

Australian wagering operators will be required to comply with the minimum bet limit condition from 1 September 2014.

For sports betting there are betting agencies that don't ban or limit winners. Most of them are betting exchanges, while the other is Pinnacle Sports.

Thanks a lot for your answer. I guess that despite the new law, bookies continue doing the same kind of abuses.

As I live in Spain, I have no access to Pinnacle neither to exchange bookies. Moreover, I have to pay taxes (40% in my case) on the gambling profit.

So I'm completely sure that if I relocated to wherever I would have better betting environment.

      Thanks again for your feedback.

      Regards,
