The second tier of English football enters round 8 this weekend. The round starts on Friday night (local time), which makes for a quick turn around for Brighton and Leeds, who were both bundled out of the Carling Cup mid week. Southampton will look to maintain their winning form when they play away at Burnley. With 18 points from 7 games, this is the Saints' best start to a season in 103 years. Just a point behind them is Middlesbrough, who host Ipswich. At the other end of the table Doncaster is reeling, with only a solitary point to show for their efforts this season. They host Crystal Palace and will be hoping for at least a draw.

Below are the latest odds (subject to change):

Southampton are worth a shout at anything over 2.00. Nothing else really jumps out at this stage.

I'm thinking:

Southampton draw no bet @ 1.60
Crystal Palace half ball @ 1.54

Few real clear cut games this week.

In league one:

Preston h2h @ 1.72
Sheffield Utd h2h @ 2.00
Huddersfield h2h @ 1.50

In league two:

Morecambe h2h @ 2.10
Macclesfield half ball @ 1.36
