Randwick Guineas – Race 6 (http://record.iasbetaffiliates.com/_SUPLHJFRM3OmKyjKP6IsY2Nd7ZgqdRLk/1/betting/horses-aus-nz/randwick/race-6-225193.html)

Saturday sees a well overdue return to the spacious Randwick circuit and this year’s renewal of the Guineas promises to be the highlight of the Autumn so far. The Waterhouse trained pair Laser Hawk ($13) and Wild and Proud ($15) should share the lead from Manawanui ($3.20) and Moment Of Change ($15) with perhaps Mosheen ($3.50) and Doctor Doom ($21) next in line. Manawanui is ready to peak after two excellent runs back from a summer break, he is drawn to find the run of the race, is unbeaten third up and if he can reproduce his high rating second to Helmet in the Caulfield Guineas he will be winning. Mosheen needs to beat the boys again in order to record consecutive Group One victories…… no easy task. If Dan Nikolic goes forward he may find himself trailing Manawanui, however if he adopts a more conservative approach he may need to reproduce his Australian Guineas “pearler”…….. again no easy task. Of the others Strike The Stars ($10) impressed from well back in the Australian Guineas and as this is only his second preparation he is likely to take further improvement from that experience and be the third pick. Moment of Change ($15) has a noseroll added to his racing gear, Luke Nolen jumps on for the first time this preparation, is drawn to find the box seat and appears over the odds currently. Kiwi visitor Ocean Park ($15) has an excellent turn of foot and his form lines through Oaks winning filly Silent Achiever coupled with the engagement of Craig Williams bring him into contention. Rekindled Alliance ($21) has found the line well at both runs back from a spell and will appreciate the wide open spaces of Randwick, however he will be forced to go back from a wide draw and may find himself with too much to do at the business end.
