The following comments are from the traders at IASbet (http://record.iasbetaffiliates.com/_SUPLHJFRM3O77L7zifyVX2Nd7ZgqdRLk/1).

Horse Racing Stradbroke Handicap - Eagle Farm Race 7 (http://record.iasbetaffiliates.com/_SUPLHJFRM3OmKyjKP6IsY2Nd7ZgqdRLk/1/betting/horses-aus-nz/eagle-farm/race-7-310859.html)
Very tough race with many genuine chances. There looks to be plenty of speed with Buffering ($8.00), Tiger Tees ($7.50) and Listen Son ($67) all pushing forward with smart filly Sea Siren ($4.50) box seating behind. Despite mares having a poor record in this race Wealth Princess ($8.00) is top pick, she maps perfectly, drops significantly in weight and will appreciate the forecast better surface. Torio's Quest ($9.00) has claims. Sea Siren has been given a tough task with 55kg so might be slight unders in the market, but 3yo fillies can win this. Phelan Ready ($26.00) hasn't won in a long time but will get back and run on late.

Queensland Derby - Eagle Farm Race 6 (http://record.iasbetaffiliates.com/_SUPLHJFRM3OmKyjKP6IsY2Nd7ZgqdRLk/1/betting/horses-aus-nz/eagle-farm/race-6-310858.html)
Punters have focused on the leading chances in this event. Brambles ($3.60) is definitely a worthy favourite given his outstanding form. He'll go forward and a repeat performance will see him hard to beat. Stablemate Vatuvei ($4.60) will appreciate the rise in distance and improved nicely last start but will be giving Brambles a start in the race. Oaks winner Quintessential ($6.00) had a nice draw and perfect race last week but has to contend with a wide barrier this time but has ability.

TJ Smith - Eagle Farm Race 5 (http://record.iasbetaffiliates.com/_SUPLHJFRM3OmKyjKP6IsY2Nd7ZgqdRLk/1/betting/horses-aus-nz/eagle-farm/race-5-310857.html)
Sizzling ($1.85) is the dominant favourite for all the right reasons and trainer Kelso Wood believes there is further improvement to come with him. Boban ($6.00) gets back and from gate 1 might need a little luck and clear running late in the race, but has talent. Academus ($6.00) is very consistent and was competitive last time against Sizzling and is sure to run another honest race.

The following are comments on the weekend racing from Luxbet (http://record.luxbetaffiliates.com.au/_bFDhL1WozjH6lJYWmxbtZGNd7ZgqdRLk/5/).

The biggest day of the Brisbane Winter Racing Carnival is upon us with three Group 1's. The highlight of the Eagle Farm meeting is the time-honoured $1,000,000 Stradbroke Handicap - Queensland's premier race and Luxbet Bookmaker Tristan De Luca takes a look.

“Top weight Buffering ($8.50) returned from injury with a solid second in the Doomben 10,000 but will face a major challenge with the 58kg. No horse has carried more than 56kg to win a Stradbroke in the last 20 years. Wealth Princess ($8) has also returned strong after a long injury lay-off but struggled in the heavy conditions running 6th in the Dane Ripper Stakes behind Red Tracer.

The ever consistent Tiger Tees ($7.50) and last year's Queensland Guineas winner Torios Quest ($9) will be aiming to keep up their flawless Queensland record, while Darley runner Mental ($11) will require a few s cratchings to get a start. The two Boom horses -Temple & Spirit - (both $17) will again carry the local hopes, but the horse to beat is definitely the favourite Sea Siren ($4.40) who will be aiming to make it a clean sweep with the BTC Cup, Doomben 10,000 and the Stradbroke”

“The QLD Derby looks like a race that will come down to four, all of whom are in fine form. The current favourite, Peter Moody trained Brambles ($3.60) has been very strong in his three Brisbane starts winning two Group 3s; The Rough Habit Plate and Mullins Lawyers Grand Prix Stakes, while another Moody runner Vatuvei ($5) will be hoping for some more heavy rain before Satu rday. NZ filly Quintessential ($7) showed why she was worth the trip over the Tasman winning the Queensland Oaks. Finally, Leon Corstens will be aiming to add another Derby win to Zabeelionaire's ($5.50) CV after already winning the South Australian Derby.

Sizzling will be looking to make it four wins in a row in the TJ Smith Plate and on the colt's current form combined with that of Champion Jockey Chris Munce, it's hard to argue. After winning the Sires Produce Stakes on Saturday Sizzling will start the favourite and is currently $1.90. Sydney gelding Academus ($6) will be aiming to turn the tables after running second to Sizzling in his last 2 starts, while another Sydney visitor Dances on Stars ($11) looks to build on his good finish running third in the Sires Produce Stakes. The only horse in the race to give Sizzling a taste of defeat is Noogoora Burr ($35), but he faces an uphill battle to even make the race after it was found he had a high bicarb lev el in a pre-race blood sample, before winning the Listed Hampden Stakes a month ago””
