Major League Soccer 2012 Preview: FC Dallas vs Toronto FC Predictions

FC Dallas Preview

FCD is 3-4-2 at home, scoring 8 goals, allowing 9 goals. Their form is 0-2-4, scoring 6 goals, allowing 10 goals. Overall, FC Dallas (3-3-2) opened a stretch of six games in 21 days with Saturday's scoreless draw against D.C. United. Kevin Hartman finished with three saves - including two at close range against Charlie Davies - to help Dallas push its unbeaten streak to three (2-0-1).

They are currently 17th in the Major League Soccer and we are expecting them to score 1.38 goals in this game. They are 2-7 over/under 2.5 goals at home and 2-8 in their last 10 home games. FCD will still be without star striker and reigning league MVP David Ferreira (fractured ankle) for that stretch.

Toronto FC Preview

The Reds are currently in 3rd place in the Eastern conference 1-1-5 away, scoring 11 goals, allowing 16 goals. Their form is 2-3-1, scoring 10 goals, allowing 8 goals. Overall, Toronto FC is in a uptrend status after winning 1.50 points per game compared to their normal 0.80 average. They are currently 19th in the Major League Soccer and we are expecting them to score 1.48 goals in this game. Their current ELO rating is 1296.4 compared to 1386.7 10 matches ago. They are 6-1 over/under 2.5 goals away and 8-2 in their last 10 away games.

FC Dallas vs Toronto FC Predictions: 1-1 Draw

The Canadians will be hosting FCD in which we can expect both teams being happy with walking away with a point. I expect this to be a close encounter between the 2 teams.

Major League Soccer 2012 Preview: Montreal Impact vs Sporting KC Predictions

Montreal Impact Preview

The Impact is 4-2-2 at home, scoring 15 goals, allowing 11 goals. Their form is 2-0-4, scoring 11 goals, allowing 14 goals. Overall, Montreal Impact is in a downtrend status after winning 1.00 points per game compared to their normal 1.37 average. They are currently 15th in the Major League Soccer and we are expecting them to score 1.65 goals in this game. Their current ELO rating is 1369.6 compared to 1436.0 10 matches ago. They are 5-3 over/under 2.5 goals at home and 5-5 in their last 10 homegames.

Sporting KC Preview

Sporting KC is 3-2-3 away, scoring 9 goals, allowing 11 goals. Their form is 2-2-2, scoring 7 goals, allowing 9 goals. Overall, Sporting KC is in a downtrend status after winning 1.33 points per game compared to their normal 1.87 average. They are currently 5th in the Major League Soccer and we are expecting them to score 1.50 goals in this game. Their current ELO rating is 1497.4 compared to 1590.3 10 matches ago. They are 4-4 over/under 2.5 goals away and 4-6 in their last 10 away games.

Overall history (H2H) is showing 1-0-0 to Montreal Impact since 2012 and 1-0-0 the past 3 years.

Montreal Impact vs Sporting KC Predictions: Montreal over Kansas 2-1

In their last meeting on May 5,2012 Kansas suffered a 2-0 loss at home to the impact. I see this being the same type of outcome with the Impact taking this. Montreal will be well rested and also I expect them to take control on the offense.

Major League Soccer 2012 Preview: San Jose Earthquakes vs Portland Timbers Predictions

San Jose Earthquakes Preview

SJ is currently on the top of the Western Conference list with eleven wins, three loses and three draws tallying a total of 36 points, four points ahead of Western second placers, Real Salt Lake. Winning the previous three matches in a row including a 4-3 victory against the Los Angeles Galaxy, the Earthquakes are on fire and are gearing up for their next up-coming match against Portland who are currently placed at number 8 in the Western Conference. The Earthquakes’ game against Los Angeles is now considered one of the greatest in the history of the MLS. MLS Golden Boot leader Chris Wondolowski, whose back heel goal gave the Quakes the lead during that game is one of the team’s driving players.

However, the impending threat of fatigue which can result in injuries for the players is looming. The Timbers, although faced with a tough task, might just be able to bank on this probability.

Portland Timbers Preview

Ranked at number 8 within the Western Conference and having 20 lesser points than the San Jose Earthquakes who, by the way, are currently the number 1 team in the West, Portland (W-4,L-7,T-4) definitely has a tough challenge to take on this Tuesday when they go against the San Jose Earthquakes(W-11,L-3,T-3). One advantage however falls to the Timbers’ side, the game will be played at the Jeld-Wen Field, Portland’s home turf.

The Timbers were absolutely annihilated by the Colorado Rapids during their match last June 30th but that was on the road. Home turf might be an advantage for Portland and they need to identify and exploit SJ’s weaknesses on this coming match.

"If we don't get points in this game, we're in a really bad spot," Timbers’ goalkeeper Troy Perkins said. "We've got to keep pushing and keep pressing."

San Jose Earthquakes vs Portland Timbers Predictions: 3-0

The Earthquakes have a powerful attack as was proven during their last match against the Galaxy. Unless the Portland Timbers adjust their defenses and strengthen their offense, the team does not stand a chance against the red-hot Earthquakes, home turf or not.

Major League Soccer 2012 Preview: Houston Dynamo vs Chicago Fire Predictions

Houston Dynamo Preview

After a 2-1 victory against the Philadelphia Union on the 30th of June, Houston Dynamo is back for another match-up, this time against the Chicago Fire. The last match that the Dynamos had against Chicago was in April 15 of 2012 where the game ended in a draw of 1-1. Currently, Houston ranks at number five in the Eastern Conference with 6 wins 5 loses and 5 draws with a total of 23 points. Oddly enough they rank just below Chicago Fire who has two more winning games ahead of Union but with the same amount of defeats. The venue will be Houston’s home turf and the team has not lost a game at home this season.

Houston, with a probable 4-4-2 line-up however, needs to strengthen their attack against Chicago’s strong defense. Chicago has 4 more points ahead of Houston and has won three games in a row. Plus Chicago’s unpredictability as a team will definitely make it hard for the Dynamo.

Chicago Fire Preview

Chicago Fire has been untouchable for the previous three games in a row including one with the Eastern Conference top team, New York Red Bulls where they easily achieved a 3-1 victory. During their last match-up, Chicagomanaged a 1-0 road victory at Sporting Kansas City on last Friday when Marco Pappa grabbed the game's only goal, and Sean Johnson made several outstanding saves to hold the lead.

Chicago needs to maintain their defense against Houston and tone up their attack. Things are looking more favourable on Chicago’s side but both teams seem to be at equal considering their five previous matches head to head with other each team has one win and three draws.

Houston Dynamo vs Chicago Fire Predictions: Draw 1-1

As mentioned above, both teams have met five times in the past Chicago has won once, Houston once, and the rest are draws. This keeps both teams at equal pace. Although Chicago is one rank higher, only four points and two games are the differential. This match-up seems even in the eyes of many.

Major League Soccer 2012 Preview: Chicago Fire vs Los Angeles Galaxy Predictions

East meets West as Chicago and LA collide on July 9.

Chicago Fire Preview

The Fire seems to be on the right track disregarding the draw against Houston last July 3rd. In the Eastern conference, they have a number 4 ranking with eight wins, five losses and four ties tallying a total of 28 points. Being in the top five can prove a lot for any time even if being pitted against a group from the Western counterpart. Their most recent loss came about on June 2 against New England but the preceding matches were in Chicago’s favour as they beat then number 1 New York Bulls.

But defence is a major problem for the Fire. Letting 19 goals from their last 17 games indicate a weak protection for the team. Going up against a team like the Los Angeles Galaxy and taking control of the game requires a lot of good defence especially with the Galaxy’s current record of 26 goals out of the previous 18 matches played so far this season.

Los Angeles Galaxy Preview

The LA Galaxy, as of now are ranked at number 6 in the Western Conference with six wins, ten losses, and two draws raking in a total of 20 points. In the beginning of the season despite some challenges, things seemed pretty much promising for Beckham and the boys. But after two losses in a row, the latest being against Philadelphia with 1-2 on the Fourth of July and before that was with San Jose with 4-3 and was dubbed one of the greatest games of the season, LA is obviously have some trouble and might be headed for a downward spiral. Now, LA Galaxy midfielder David Beckham was given a one-game suspension and fined an undisclosed amount by the Disciplinary Committee for his provocative behaviour following the Galaxy’s 4-3 loss to San Jose on June 30.

Without Beckham, the team needs to get their act together and focus. Mike Magee will probably deputize in the midfield and they need to maintain their power of attack against a strong team such as the Chicago Fire.

Chicago Fire vs Los Angeles Galaxy Predictions: Chicago Fire wins 1-0

Sure, the Galaxy is strong in both areas, defense and attack. But the Fire as an ace up their sleeve in the form of Marco Pappa. If he is able to continue his exceptional form in midfield, the Fire should rebound on Sunday.

Major League Soccer 2012 Preview: Toronto FC vs Philadelphia Union Predictions

Two of the worst cases in the League will clash on the 8th of July 9.

Toronto FC Preview

Currently, Toronto FC is at the basement of the Eastern Conference rankings. The team so far, has a total of 10 points with sixteen games. Out of the sixteen games already played this season, Toronto has only two wins with ten losses and four draws. The good news, they’re going up against Philadelphia Union this Sunday, July 8. Why the good news? Well, the Union is not too far ahead of Toronto in record performance this year meaning they can catch up. Toronto hasn't lost in five straight, enjoying a noticeable upgrade in form under new coach Paul Mariner.

What Toronto needs to strengthen their defences and push up on their attack mode. The team has already let in a total of 30 goals from previous opponents in the last sixteen games which is pretty alarming. The Union is better at defense than most teams in the East but have a slightly weaker attack when compared to Toronto.

Philadelphia Union Preview

With a total of 14 points from fifteen games played which has a current record of four wins, nine losses and two draws, the Union is in a way, equal against their up-coming opponents Toronto FC. What the Union has where Toronto is lacking however, is the defense the team possess. Looking at the currents stats of the Eastern Conference teams, Philly has a better defensive record, even against the current top players, DC United.

However, Toronto has no losses from their five previous games while Philadelphia has three losses with only two victories. The opposing team is now able to hold up against higher ranking teams as of late therefor Philadelphia Union needs to improve their attack.

Toronto FC vs Philadelphia Union Predictions: 1-1 Draw

Predicting a draw goes to show how closely similar both teams are when it comes to their statistics. Although Toronto seemed to show more promise now than let’s say, five games ago, both teams are still on the equal.

Major League Soccer 2012 Preview: New England Revolution vs New York Red Bulls Predictions

A calm and straightforward victory over New York on Sunday night would provide a welcome respite for New England after the late drama over the past two weekends.

New England Revolution Preview

While the Revs will take the two points collected after scoring two 94th minute equalizers in 2-2 draws against Toronto FC and Seattle over the past fortnight, they would like to secure a win in a more simplistic manner against the Red Bulls, according to midfielder Benny Feilhaber.

“We got a goal early in the [Seattle] game,” Feilhaber told MLSsoccer.com. “We just couldn't hold the lead. It's good to see us fight for that long – into the 94th minute for the second game in a row. But I'm hoping we don't have to keep it that late every game.”

Revolution coach Jay Heaps believes the path toward a positive and ultimately mundane result starts by cutting out the defensive errors that have marred the past couple of games. All four goals conceded over the past two matches have occurred in a fairly similar fashion – cross from the left wing, header in the middle – and have left Heaps to lament how those letdowns marred otherwise solid defensive performances.

New York Red Bulls Preview

The Red Bulls will certainly provide a stiff test at the back with its preference to operate through the wide areas and its potent attacking options, but the internal emphasis on cutting out those mistakes at the back must take precedence, according to Heaps.

“For us, we feel that we have to work on ourselves right now,” Heaps said. “We feel like we're giving away games right now. We've won a couple of games in the past, but, since then, we've gotten back into giving away games and giving away points. We have to focus on ourselves. When they get here, we need to do the things that we do well: move the ball quickly, get in behind and make it difficult for them to play.”

Heaps will hope to have Kevin Alston (left hamstring tightness), Jerry Bengston (awaiting visa and ITC clearance after his transfer from Honduran side C.D. Motagua), Shalrie Joseph (left knee strain), Jose Moreno (left ankle sprain) and Kelyn Rowe (concussion) available to help the Revs accomplish those tasks and extend their season-high four-match unbeaten run with a victory.

“It's just important because teams are kind of drawing away from us a little bit in the playoff spots,” Feilhaber said. “We have to stay with the pack. In order to do that, we have to start getting three points, especially at home.”

New England Revolution vs New York Red Bulls Predictions: New York wins 2-1

Home or away the Red Bulls show why they are the better team. New York’s pressure and attack on the defense will continue to be a problem for New England. New England’s injuries will also hinder them from even getting a chance to get the victory over New York.

Major League Soccer 2012 Preview: Montreal Impact vs Columbus Crew Predictions

A lot has changed since the Andy Gruenebaum and the Crew shutout the Montreal Impact in Columbus back on March 24, but the team will carry the confidence from that victory into this weekend's match in Montreal.

Montreal Impact Preview

The Impact is coming off three straight losses. In that span, Jesse Marsch's side has been outscored 9-1. Montreal's lone goal of that tough stretch came in Wednesday night's 3-1 loss at Stade Saputo to Sporting KC.

"Hopefully we come out strong. It's something we did well (against RSL on 6/30)," Gaven said. "We'll try to get all over them early and hopefully if we do that, it will kind of kill their spirit a little bit and we'll score a few goals. We're just going to try to build off what we did last game and hopefully do the same thing up there."

"We can get an idea of how they want to play us and how they play at home from video of the game they played last night," echoed Gruenebaum.

Columbus Crew Preview

The Crew could have up to 26 players available for selection on Sunday as Chad Marshall, Dilly Duka, and Carlos Mendes have all participated in training this week as they hope to return from injuries. In addition, new signing Jairo Arrieta will make his debut in Black & Gold against the Impact.

The added bodies in training have sparked competition amonst the team as players fight for spots in the starting XI.

"(Competition) is always going to make us better. Everybody is fighting for spots, Gaven explained. "We've got some guys coming back from injury. It's going to push everybody harder, which is going to make our team better as a whole."

Added Gruenebaum, "When you breed competition in training, it makes everything better. It makes everybody's decision harder as a coaching staff to pick the starting XI."

The man in charge of choosing that starting XI, head coach Robert Warzycha, says his lineup will depend on what combination he feels will be most effective against this week's opponent, the Montreal Impact.

"We're going to play a little bit (in training) and figure out what's best against Montreal," Warzycha said. "Sometimes, the team that you play against determines who you're going to put on the field. The best matchup is going to be key to the match."

Montreal Impact vs Columbus Crew Predictions: 1-1 Draw

If it weren’t for the injuries of Columbus I would have it 2-1 for the Crew. But, with the combination of injuries and the poor play of Montreal this goes down as a tie.

Major League Soccer 2012 Preview: Chicago Fire vs Vancouver Whitecaps Predictions

The USA Major League Soccer football match between Chicago Fire (8th) and Vancouver Whitecaps (6th) kicks off on 15 July 2012.

Chicago Fire Preview

The Fire has played 9 USA Major League Soccer matches this season on Toyota Park. On home ground Chicago Fire has won 5, drawn 2 and lost 2 matches. This ranks the Fire 11th in home team performance in the USA Major League Soccer. When looking at Chicago Fire home performance in league points, Chicago Fire’s performance is greatest when looking at opponents in the bottom 6 with an average of 3 points per game.

Vancouver Whitecaps Preview

Whitecaps has played 9 USA Major League Soccer matches this season away from home. On away ground Vancouver Whitecaps has won 3, drawn 3 and lost 3 matches. This ranks Vancouver Whitecaps 5th in away team performance in the USA Major League Soccer. The Whitecaps away performance in league points, Vancouver Whitecaps’s performance is greatest when looking at opponents in the bottom 6 with an average of 1.71 points per game. Against opponent such as Chicago Fire who is currently placed in the mid 7 of the USA Major League Soccer Vancouver Whitecaps has managed to collect an average of 1.33 points in 3 matches this season. When looking at matches played away against the mid 7 this season Vancouver Whitecaps has collected 0 points on average in 1 match.

Chicago Fire vs Vancouver Whitecaps Predictions: Chicago 2-0 over Vancouver

Key stat when Chicago plays at home against the bottom 6 teams(Whitecaps 8th place) they win by 3 goals.I see it that Chicago will dominate Vancouver in this one.

Major League Soccer 2012 Preview: Columbus Crew vs Sporting KC Predictions

Sporting KC will visit Columbus Stadium July 14. Both teams will go into this one with something to prove. For Columbus if they can bounce back from their disappointing loss to Montreal and for KC if they can maintain 1st place in the MLS standings.

Columbus Crew Preview

The Crew came off of a 2-1 loss to the Impact last Sunday. They have been plagued with some key injuries Crew captain Chad Marshall returned after missing eight games because of a concussion. Columbus won four and lost three without Marshall, who had not played since he was hit on the head by a ball in practice on May 4. The Crew is staggering on offense no doubt about it. "We’re missing a little creativity up front,” defender Josh Williams said. “I don’t know what it is. I’m just trying to do my job and let the coaches and forwards figure that out."

It had better come soon as the Crew begin a run of four straight games against the top two clubs in the Eastern Conference.

Sporting KC Preview

The Wiz Sporting went from the lowest point of their season to – so far – the highest. And they did it in the same stadium, against the same team. The difference was in the defense. K.C is sitting pretty in the power rankings with a 9-3-1 record. They have really come into their own and found their groove coming off of a 0-0 against 1st place Houston. The injury list looks pretty similar and simple this week. Bobby Convey is still listed as probable for his calf strain, and Jon Kempin (R ankle fracture), Cyprian Hedrick (L fibula fracture), and Lawrence Olum (L groin strain) are still out. There was some speculation Bobby Convey would return for this game, but if he's available to play, I'd bet we see him as a sub.

Columbus Crew Vs Sporting KC Predictions: Columbus Crew wins 2-0

Good teams have a way of punishing bad teams and in this case Sporting News will be all over Columbus. I see with KC’s stellar defense and offensive pressure will be too much for the Crew.

Major League Soccer 2012 Preview: Houston Dynamo vs Washington DC United Predictions

As the Houston Dynamo look to kick off their second-half push, the club is looking to strike a long sought-after balance between attack and defense.

Throughout the first half of the season, the Dynamo have been strong in either defense or attack, but have struggled to put together complete performances on a consistent basis. Houston have pitched six shutouts in 2012, but have scored just three goals in those matches. Conversely, in games where Houston have scored two or more goals, the club has a record of 2-2-3, giving up 16 goals in the process. A recent shift in formation has translated into back-to-back clean sheets for the Dynamo, who are on a shutout streak that currently stands at 223 minutes. Now the goal is to build on the offensive side of the ball to complement their renewed defensive form.

“We know we’re not exactly lighting the scoreboard up, but we were unbeaten last week [0-0 tie at Sporting] and that’s a positive,” Houston head coach Dominic Kinnear

Washington DC United Preview

DC United made a statement beating the Impact in their last game keeping them in 1st place in the Eastern Conference D.C. United put three unanswered goals past the Montreal Impact to open up a sliver of daylight at the Eastern Conference summit. A goal just before the interval from Chris Pontius was joined by second-half strikes from Robbie Russell and Hamdi Salihi.

The win puts D.C. top of the East again with 33 points, after New York's draw against Toronto briefly saw the Red Bulls take pole position by a single point.

Houston Dynamo vs Washington DC United Predictions: 2-1 United over Houston

Even if United come in as the visitors. They will come with their usual aggressive attack. Houston’s defense isn’t strong enough to withstand United’s attack.

Major League Soccer 2012 Preview: San Jose Earthquakes vs Real Salt Lake Predictions

Earthquakes and RSL will clash on the 14th of July, Buck Shaw Stadium as the two teams vie for Western Domination.

San Jose Earthquakes Preview

San Jose is currently at the top of the Western Conference list with eleven wins, four losses and four draws tallying a total of 37 points, only one point ahead of Western second placers, Real Salt Lake, the team they will be entertaining on the 14th at the Buck Shaw Stadium. They’ve just concluded their two-game road trip playing to a scoreless draw with FC Dallas on Saturday evening in San Francisco.

There are some notable individuals that play for the Quakes, one is Chris Wondolowskiwho once again is leading Major League Soccer in goals scored with a total of 14 points, and then you have the late match miracle man in Alan Gordon. The two mentioned are just some of the few adding to SJ’s firepower.

Real Salt Lake Preview

Although one rank below San Jose, RSL are just as equally dominating. Even when in times of uncertainty RSL always seem find their way through like when they recently broke out of their four-game winless run in emphatic fashion, achieving a 3-0 win against the Portland Timbers last Saturday at the Rio Tinto Stadium. Real Salt Lake currently sits in second place in the Western Conference with 36 points from 20 games. Like the Earthquakes, they are one of the few teams in the league to display consistency throughout a full season.

However, there is a reason why RSL are almost always one step behind SJ in rankings, that reason lie within the power of attack. San Jose is absolutely the biggest scoring team in both conferences.

San Jose Earthquakes vs Real Salt Lake Predictions: San Jose Earthquakes 4-1

San Jose is simply the most dominant offensive team in Major League Soccer.Their 36 goals in 19 matches equals out to 1.89 per match which is the best in the league. Another factor is that in over fifty percent of their matches, they have scored multiple goals and only twice this season have they been held without scoring a goal, and perhaps the most impressive thing is their +16 goal differential over the last 30 minutes of matches where they have scored 22 goals and allowed just 6.

Major League Soccer 2012 Preview: Colorado Rapids vs FC Dallas Predictions

Two old Western rivals meet in Colorado at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park on July 14 as each team look to turn their own luck around.

Colorado Rapids Preview

The Colorado Rapids lost for the second time in as many matches, dropping a 2-1 decision to Seattle Sounders FC last Saturday evening. The Rapids are in sixth place in the Western Conference with 22 points from 18 games precisely with seven wins, ten losses and one draw. But compared to FC Dallas however, the Rapids seem to be faring somewhat better being three places higher up the rank ladder with six more points at a total of 22 points. During their last five matches, Colorado has achieved only one victory. That is a very alarming pattern, needless to say.

The Colorado Rapids do have their hopes up and it’s in the form of newcomer, Tyson Wahl, a naturally left footed defender who stands at a height of 6 foot 2. Recently Acquired from Montreal for a 2014 international roster spot, Wahl has won the faith of Rapid’s technical director, Paul Bravo.

“We’re excited to be able to add such an experienced player without compromising our roster flexibility as we move into the second half of the season.”, stated Bravo on Tyson Wahl’s migration to the team.

FC Dallas Preview

The boys from FC Dallas are on a desperate position therefor they are looking to reverse there current struggles. Dallas stands at the very bottom in the Western Conference. There have been victories for Dallas during the last five matches. Out of the nineteen games played, Dallas has acquired only three wins and seven draws.

But the trade for midfielder Julian de Guzman can help increase FC Dallas’ scoring opportunitieswith his offensive tactics. There defensive strengh has shown a steady progress to fine tuning but attack mode is what they are lacking on at the moment considering Dallas’ leading scorer is out at the moment.

FC Dallas saw their long winless streak continue, but played to a third consecutive draw, this time a scoreless result with the San Jose Earthquakes on Saturday evening in Frisco. FCD is in ninth place in the Western Conference with 16 points from 19 matches.

Colorado Rapids vs FC Dallas Predictions: Colorado Rapids win 1-0

This prediction is in all its essence, very tentative. Looking at the circumstances from different angles, both teams have shown an equal build-up in strength. What else should bottom teams do? They can’t stay where they currently are and expect to move forward, for one, Dallas is trying hard to avoid its first five game losing streak. But Dallas has demonstrated an improvement in its defences and putting de Guzman in the roster might add to their power of attack. But records all point to the Rapids as the favourite and it’s really hard to avoid numbers and follow one’s personal observation. Numbers have shown that Colorado has maintained their consistency better than Dallas.

UEFA Champions League 2012 Preview: Sheriff Tiraspol vs Ulisses Yerevan Predictions

Moldovan Sheriff Tiraspol will meetArmenian Ulisses for the first time on the 17th of July in the first leg of the Second Qualifying Rounds.

Ulisses Yerevan Preview

The Armenian team based in Yerevan and formally named Dinamothis season has, when compared to Tiraspol, been on a downtrend. The last six games provided three wins, one draw and two losses. FC Ulysses is currently in the Premier League table placed at number 6. The team scored in the current Premier League Season an average of 1.3 goals per game to date which Is much lower than upcoming opponents, Tiraspol with a score average of 2.5.

By this factor, Ulisses Yerevan needs to push their attack form in order to gain control early on in the game. If this is not put into effect , the Armenian team will most likely lose the first and second leg to the Moldovan Tiraspol.

Sheriff Tiraspol Preview

The uniquely named Sheriff Tiraspol is based in Moldova specifically the city of Tiraspol and DiviziaNaţionala the top division in Moldovan football and are currently placed at number 2. FC Sheriff are currently considered to be in an uptrend. The last six games the Moldovan team has won two, drew two and loss two games, not much of a promising record at first view.

However, in the DivizaNationala, the team has an average of 2.5 goals per game and on games home, the team scored an average of 5 goals. This indicates that Sheriff Tiraspol’s strength lies in their offensive and this can be a deciding factor during their match against Ulisses this coming July 17.

Sheriff Tiraspol vs Ulisses Yerevan Predictions: Sheriff Tiraspol 3-0

The numbers say it all, Sheriff Tiraspol has a much higher average when it comes to scoring goals. The defensive side for both teams is not too impressive but an advantage goes to the Moldovans when it comes to attack. The downtrend for FC Ulisses Yerevan is another clear indicator.

UEFA Champions League 2012 Preview: Flora Tallin vs FC Basel Predictions

FC Basel starts next Champions League campaign in Estonia against Flora Tallinn on July 17.

FC Basel Preview

Basel, the football club from Switzerland and one of the best performers of the last season in the Champions League will begin their journey early, in the second preliminary round against FC Flora Tallin from Estonia, and they are clearly the favorites to advance in the next round of the competition.

Basel managed to get 4 points out of 2 games against Manchester United in the Group C of Champions League last season and they are in a good position to qualify this year as well for the group stage. They will have to go through two preliminary rounds and then through the play-off to enter the grop stage, but they proved they are a stong team and they could qualify.

Flora Tallin Preview

An Estonian football club founded in 1990 are a multiple winner of the Meistriliiga title and the Estonian Cup. They have for years been raising the most number of players for the national team. Flora Tallinn clinched the Estonian Meistriliiga title on Saturday with a 3-0 win at home to JK NõmmeKalju. Flora now have a four-point lead over second-placed FC Levadia Tallinn, who have only one game to go. This type of explosive attack driven play will definitely be effective against a team like the Swiss Basel.

Flora Tallin vs FC Basel Predictions: Flora Tallin wins 2-1

Regardless of how impressive of a record that FC Basel may hold, Flora Tallinn, with their power of attack will most likely prevail on the 17th of July. At home the Estonian team holds a very impressive record and have been blessed with a number of today’s top players. Last season seemed positive for FC Basel but this season will most likely hold a different story.

UEFA Champions League 2012 Preview: Slovan-Liberec vs FC Shakhter Karagandy Predictions

Slovan Liberec faces FC Shakther Karagandy on July 18 in the first leg of the Second Qualifying Rounds.

Slovan-Liberec Preview

Liberec based on its performance on previous years, may not be the strongest team of the Czech Republic. It can be argued that for the last season, they only capitalized on a failed Sparta Praha’s performance (the team with the most championships) and Victoria Plzen’s distraction while targeting the EU cups. They won the Czech championship for only the third time in club’s history.

Slovan Liberec though did not lose in their last six matches, managing to only draw in two of them. Their scoring average was 2.17 for the 6 games.

FC Shakhter Karagandy Preview

FC Shakhter Karagandy was a member of the Kazakhstan Premier League since its founding in 1995. Before winning their first championship in 2011 (the reason while they are in UEFA Champions today), they have only reached third place two times (1995 and 2007).

Shakhter Karagandy lost two of their last six matches. Their scoring average was 2.33 for the 6 games.

Slovan-Liberec vs FC Shakhter Karagandy Predictions: Slovan Liberec wins 2-1

The recent performance will tell us – Slovan Liberec will take this game, but it will be a close one. Shakhter Karagandy may have had a higher average score, but these were due to extreme values on wins they had.

UEFA Champions League 2012 Preview: MSK Zilina vs Hapoel Ironi Kiryat Shmona Predictions

MSK Zilina faces Hapoel Ironi Kiryat Shmona on July 18 in the first leg of the Second Qualifying Rounds.

MSK Zilina Preview

MSK Zilina is probably the strongest team in the Slovakian Corgon Liga. It’s currently tied with another favorite, Slovan Bratislava, for most titles held in history (six each), but leads the latter on all-time points made. Together with their rival, they were there since the start of the league.

MSK Zilina though only lost one in their last six matches, also managing to only draw in one of them. They won all the other four games.

Hapoel Ironi Kiryat Shmona Preview

The current Hapoel Ironi Kiryat Shmona was founded in 2000. However, they only became a member of the Israeli Premier League since 2007. This is their first championship (the reason while they are in UEFA Champions today). Their championship, though a hardly fought one, was the first to be won by a team outside the three major cities (Tel Aviv, Jerusalem and Haifa) for almost 30 years.

With the difficulty in facing the main city giants, Hapoel Ironi Kiryat Shmona only managed to win two of their last six matches. They lost the other 4.

MSK Zilina vs Hapoel Ironi Kiryat Shmona Predictions: MSK Zilina wins 2-1

The recent performance will tell us – MSK Zilina will surely dominate, and it will be a possible 2-0 win.

London Olympic Games 2012 Preview: Brazil U23 vs Egypt U23 Predictions

Brazil will face Egypt in the first game of the 2012 London Olympic Games men’s football Group C branch at the Millennium Stadium, Cardiff on Wednesday, July 26. Group C is comprised of Brazil, along with Egypt, New Zealand and Belarus.

Brazil Preview

Brazil is the favorites to win Group C, and is most likely to eventually overcome any resistance from the Egyptians. Looking at Brazil, the squad is very much a powerhouse with Alexander Pato, Neymar, and Hulk in the position of striker and in midfield yet again that the contents of the Ganso, Sandro.

Brazil is always one of the world's toughest sides to eliminate, and their current elite roster is far unlikely to disappoint any fan or foe.

Egypt Preview

Egypt is expected to give a fierce resistance against Brazil in this opening match. Egypt is struggling to qualify for the quarterfinals, and everyone knows how desperation can push anyone.

Egypt's absence from Olympic action makes them a very definite underdog in this contest. They have nothing to lose, though, and that can be very dangerous to the favorite.

Brazil U23 vs Egypt U23 Predictions: Brazil U23 wins 2-0

I don't expect Brazil to lose, but Egypt will hang around longer than expected, and will fight with what’s left of them. Any chance for an upset is very slim.

London Olympic Games 2012 Preview: Mexico U23 vs Korea Republic U23 Predictions

Mexico U23 Preview

What more can we say about this powerhouse team. El Tri is packed with talent led by scoring machine Mexico’s is Marco Fabian. His speed is treacherous, his shot rockets, and his hunger will be displayed throughout the tournament. Mexico enters the tournament by making a statement out of Turkey 3-0 back in May. Mexico also boast a stingy defense defense with stay well-organized in the back, a line of five assembled. This brought Miguel Ponce and Javier Aquino back to unite with the three central defenders – Nestor Vidrio, Jorge "Chatón" Enriquez, and Nestor Araujo.

Korea Republic U23 Preview

Korea Republic enters the tournament with a 3-1 record in the qualifier with impressive wins over Lebanon(3-0) and 4-2 over 4-1 over Qatar. Korea Republic has a sound offensive attack led by Kim Bo-Kyung and FW Park Chu-Young who are Korea’s premier threats on offense. Korea’splayers are rightfully famous for their stamina and our relentless chasers, always challenging their opponents’ possession. Despite being undersized, they are capable of playing a tough, physical game.

Mexico U23 vs Korea Republic U23 Predictions: Mexico 3-1

This will be a great game to watch with 2 teams that are blessed with speed and scoring ability but, with that said Mexico is just on a different level with a much better offensive punch and solid defense Mexico will walk away with an easy victory over Korea RepubO

London Olympic Games 2012 Preview: Morrocco U23 vs Honduras U23 Predictions

Honduras Preview

Catrachos comes into Hampden Park with a 4-2 recored in the qualifying rounds having impressive wins over Nicaragua(5-0) and 3-0 over Panama.. This is Honduras’ third time at the Olympics and they qualified after winning three and losing two games at the Concacaf U23 Championships, the key match being the 3-2 victory against El Salvador in the semi-finals before losing to Mexico in the final. Their attack is led by Roger Rojas and Eddie Hernandez.Honduras is known for their relentless attack on offense and boast a pretty decent defense.

Morocco Preview

Atlas Lions have made it to this stage on six previous occasions but have only once got past the group stage. They qualified this time by reaching the final of last year’s CAF African U23 Championship, where they lost to Gabon. Morocco is led by striker Abderrazak Hamdallah and Captain and mid fielder Driss Fettouhi. Coach Verbeek also spoke of his team's readiness for the competition admitting that there is an added element of the crowd to spur on Morocco and while this is positive the attention and pressure from media

Morrocco U23 vs Honduras U23 Predictions: Honduras 3-0

Honduras will be too much to handle for Morocco to deal with. I look for Honduras to staying aggressive throughout the match. Morocco doesn’t have much of an attack after witnessing a draw against a weak Belarus back in May

London Olympic Games 2012 Preview: Belarus U23 vs New Zealand U23 Predictions

The “Oly-Whites” square off against Belarus Olympic at Coventry’s City of Coventry Stadium on July 27 as part of the Group C leg of the tournament.

Belarus U23 Preview

Belarus ahs yet to appear in a final leg of a major tournament since it’s team formation in 1991 after the country gained it’s independence from the now defunct Soviet Union. During the qualifications at the group stage of the UEFA European U-21 Championship 2011, Belarus squeezed into the semi-finals thanks to a victory over Iceland, and a better goal difference in the head-to-head record between the three teams tied on points for second place. This shows that the Eastern European team has every reason to look into the tournament with optimism since its current players like EgorFilipenko and Andrei Voronkov belong to a new generation.

New Zealand U23 Preview

The “Oly Whites” had an impressive run during the qualifying campaign being side short of several key players but scoring a total of 15 goals in their four matches, although ten came in the group match against Tonga. The Kiwis won three of three matches by a single goal. The New Zealand team made their Olympic debut during the 2008 Beijing Olympics opening with a 1-1 draw against China denying the Kiwis victory thanks only to an equaliser two minutes from time, followed by a 5-0 capitulation against Brazil, but with the New Zealanders displaying trademark spirit to bounce back in their final match against Belgium, only to suffer a 1-0 defeat against the eventual semi-finalists.

The recent matches played however showed a lacking in attacking and scoring power and this can fall into the Kiwis’ disadvantage against teams like Belarus or Uruguay.

Belarus U23 vs New Zealand U23 Predictions: Belarus 2-1

With a line up of strong key players and a much more impressive goal record, the Eastern European team look set to win this match up against the Kiwis.

London Olympic Games 2012 Preview: Great Britain U23 vs Senegal U23 Predictions

Team GB squares off against Senegal Olympic Manchester’s Old Trafford on July 27 for the Group A Olympic Preliminaries.

Great Brittain U23 Preview

The Great Britain and Northern Ireland Olympic football team entered the Olympic tournament automatically by way of being the host country. Nevertheless, team GB is packing a power punch in the form of players like Gareth Bale, Fraizer Campbell, Jack Rodwell, Marc Albrighton, and Jordan Rhodes.

However, it’s been a good 52 years since Great Britain entered an Olympic tournament. Another factor that can prove detrimental to Great Britain was their previous performance during last year’s UEFA U-21 Championship where they failed to win a game. But even though England was lacklustre at the UEFA U-21 Championships of 2011, Great Britaincan call on some of the stars from those games.

Senegal U23 Preview

Senegal Olympic will enter the tournament’s football championship for the first time since it’s formation. During the qualifying stint of the African U-23 Championships, Senegal lost their opening to Algeria, but then recovered to be considered one of the tournament favourites by defeating Nigeria 2-1 and Morocco 1-0. But after gaining momentum from topping the table ahead of the Moroccan hosts, Senegalwere surprised by Gabon in the semi-final 1-0 and lost the play-off for third place against Egypt 2-0.

Consistently has been lacking on the part of the Senegalese team and they need to make a change in their formation in order to beat Great Britain as well as the other teams during the Olympic games. Their line-up has proven competent but their game play needs some improvising.

Great Britain U23 vs Senegal Predictions: Great Britain 2-1

Great Britain has a much stronger line up than Senegal and their formations and gameplays have proven more consistent and reliable. One thing the Senegalese can do is to amp up their power of attack in order to overwhelm the British at the onset of the match but that is very lest likely to happen.

London Olympic Games 2012 Preview: United Arab Emirates U23 vs Uruguay U23 Predictions

United Arab Emirates squares off against Uruguay at Manchester’s Old Trafford on July 27.

United Arab Emirates U23 Preview

The boys from the UAE started offstrong in the international field despite a first game draw against Hong Kong and the People’s Democratic Republic of Koreaplus a 1-0 loss to Japan during the Asian Games. So the team’s record to date in the Asian games is at five wins, 1 loss and 1 draw. UAE turned out consistent performances throughout, including victories over AFC heavyweights Australia and Uzbekistan.UAE qualified for London 2012 after a gruelling campaign that began on 8 March 2011 and finished on 14 March this year. Over this period they played a total of ten games, winning seven and drawing three.

However, this is the very first Olympic tournament which the Middle Eastern team has qualified in since being established in the 1971. The Olympics has a different curriculum at hand and this factor might prove to be a hardship for the UAE

Uruguay U23 Preview

The Uruguay Olympic Football team also known as Uruguay Under 23 has a pretty impressive Olympic record. The Men’s Olympic Football Tournament holds special significance for Uruguayans. Even before the advent of the FIFA World Cup™, the country won consecutive gold medals at the two tournaments it played in. With leading scorer was Adrian Luna with three goals, followed by Pablo Capellini and Diego Polenta with two apiece during the continental championships in Peru, the Uruguayan team seems ready for the real deal.

But it has actually been 84 years that passed since Uruguay last appeared in the Men’s Olympic Football Tournament, at Amsterdam 1928, when they won their second gold medal in their second successive appearance. The national team coach Oscar Tabarez, who will be taking charge of the side in London, is anxious to dampen any euphoria

United Arab Emirates U23 vs Uruguay U23 Predictions: Uruguay 3-1

Uruguay, without a doubt, packs a stronger attack. The UAE team will most probably be on the defensive throughout the game if they do not assert control at the onset.

London Olympic Games 2012 Preview: Gabon U23 Vs Switzerland U23 Predictions

Gabon U23 Preview

The national Under-23 side has won through to the CAF Under-23 Championship and are close to a first-ever visit to the Olympic Games,

The side did have a disappointment earlier this year when they failed to qualify for the All Africa Games, defeated by DR Congo in the preliminaries.

The Young Panthers will be led by Gabon FA technical director Claude-Albert Mbourounot, with senior national team coach Gernot Rohr no doubt casting an eye over the side with a view to possibly drafting a few in for the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations.

“If you have to qualify for the Olympic Games, you must be ready to beat the best and I think we have a fair chance with our opponents. Gabon can make it to London 2012 with the quality of players they have,” Rohr said. Gabon U23 is young hungry and strong with a great balance offensive a attack with sound defense.

Switzerland U23 Preview

Swiss team comes into this match with a recent 1-0 loss to Senegal U23. Switzerland comes in with a very inexperienced young team. They have not qualified as a team since 1924. There is not much to be said about Switzerland exact their lack of experience.

Gabon U23 Vs Switzerland U23 Predictions: 1-1 Draw

Both of these teams come in with lack of experience. I see this being a match where both teams play very safe and not try to do too much. This is anyone’s game I see a draw

London Olympic Games 2012 Preview: Spain U23 vs Japan U23 Predictions

Spain U23 Preview

Spain U23 manager Luis Milla, has named his preliminary twenty-two player squad that he will take with him to London for the Olympic Games. The squad will be narrowed down to eighteen players before the tournament so four of the players below will come off the list. Athletic Bilbao and FC Barcelona are the two clubs with the most players at the tournament with four each. The strong group of youngsters are joined by recent European Champions Javi Martinez (Athletic Bilbao), Jordi Alba (FC Barcelona) and Juan Mata (Chelsea FC). Javi Martinez and Juan Mata have dominated the Spanish midfield together before, having won the U21 European Championship last summer, and they will look to lead their country to yet another honor in international football. Watch this space for profiles of all of the squad members between now and the start of the Olympic Games.

Japan U23 Preview

Japan qualified in 2012 Olympic Asian Qualifying Final Round. Although, win or draw will be enough for the Japanese last match, it took 55 minutes to score the first goal by midfielder Ogihara followed by Kiyotake. Korea, UAE and Japan qualified and Oman, Uzbekistan, and Syria go to play off to win the last 0.5 Asian place. Japan comes in 7-0 dominating the Asian Games and looks to make a statement in the opener.

Spain U23 vs Japan U23 Predictions: Spain 3-1 over Japan

Though Japan’s record in the Asian games is impressive it’s not quite the level of competition of Spain. Spain’s aggressive attack on offensive will keep Japan on their heels most of the game. Bottom line, Spain is on a different level than Japan thus Spain takes this game with ease.

Major League Soccer 2012 Preview: Real Salt Lake Vs Vancouver White Caps Predictions

Real Salt Lake Preview

Led by a last minute replacement midfielder Yordany Álvarez looked possessed out there. Álvarez’s full contributions may not show up on the stat sheet, where he had two shots, two fouls committed and a foul suffered. But they are there for the most important stat: the 2-0 score line.

“I feel more confident, more confident with the ball, and I thought I played good,” Álvarez said. “I think I played my best game [with RSL].” With Beckerman eligible to play this Friday against the Vancouver Whitecaps, Álvarez will almost certainly return to the bench. But it is comforting for the team to know the Cuban is ready and able to fill in when called upon.

“I thought he was very solid, won some tackles for us,” said midfielder Will Johnson. “It’s great when he can step in for Kyle to do a great job like that. … He stepped in and made a difference.” RSL was sound as usual on the defensive side as well. Stopping the Colorado offense, Alvarez was also significantly better at linking the defense with the offense.

Vancouver Preview

The 3rd place Whitecaps come into this match looking to make some noise and a push into Rio Tinto Stadium. Whitecaps (9-6-7) snapped a four-match winless streak, as it defeated San Jose for the second time in three meetings this season. The Whitecaps defeated the Earthquakes, 2-1, at BC Place on May 5. San Jose won at home on April 7, 3-1. Newly acquisition Dane Richards scored his first goal for Vancouver in the 20th minute and Alan Gordon equalized before halftime for San Jose, but Robson made no mistake from the spot for his second goal in as many games.

Real Salt Lake Vs Vancouver White Caps Predictions: RSL 2-1 Over Vancouver

This will be a great match to watch as the number 2 and 3 teams clash. But, RSL at home will be tough to beat. Look for RSL’s Alavarez to put on another show as he goes head up with Whitecaps Dane Richards . In the end I see RSL controlling this match .It will be low scoring but great tempo.

Major League Soccer 2012 Preview: Montreal Impact vs New York Red Bulls Predictions

Montreal Preview

The Impact look to bounce back from the thumping they took last week from the Dynamos. The Montreal Impact ended a series of 10 games in 36 days with a 3-0 loss (halftime 1-0) against the Houston Dynamo, Saturday, at BBVA Compass Stadium, in Houston. The Impact started the game with three changes to the starting lineup. Midfielders Justin Mapp and Patrice Bernier, as well as defender Jeb Brovsky, were not in the starting lineup. Brovsky, who played the last 13 games, did not play due to a thigh injury.

Quebec-born defender Karl W. Ouimette, developed by the club’s Academy, played in his first ever career MLS game, replacing defender Zarek Valentin, who left the game in the 23rd minute as a result of an injury to his left ankle.

New York Preview

The Red Bulls improved to 7-0-3 inside of Red Bull Arena this season with a 2-0 victory over the visiting Union, thanks to goals on each side of halftime from a reborn Kenny Cooper (above) and another shutout for goalkeeper Bill Gaudette and the New York defense.

Major League Soccer 2012 Preview: FC Dallas vs LA Galaxy Predictions

FC Dallas Preview

FC Dallas had Monday off to rest after playing three matches in eight days. They’ll get Wednesday off as well, but this time due to the MLS All-Star Game in Philadelphia. Hyndman will be in Philadelphia on Wednesday for a meeting of the MLS Technical Committee that he is a part of. Hyndman said the committee usually reviews notable or controversial plays, with members giving their opinion on whether fouls or cards should have been issued. Hyndman will fly back to Dallas in time for Thursday’s morning training session. Hyndman knows a strong LA Galaxy squad will take the field on Saturday (7 p.m. CT on NBC Sports Network), even if they don’t have all of their high-wattage stars. Landon Donovan is suspended for the match due to yellow card accumulation. “They’re a hard team to beat,” Hyndman said. “They are the team we’re aiming at right now to get that fifth [playoff] spot” But Hyndman isn’t worried about his squad. “It seems like when we play them we really do show up,” Hyndman said. FC Dallas tied LA 1-1 at the Home Depot Center on April 28, surrendering a late goal to the Galaxy.

Los Angeles Preview

David Junior Lopes answered Gareth Bale's superb header, and the LA Galaxy claimed a 1-1 draw with England's Tottenham Hotspur in a friendly Tuesday night at The Home Depot Center.

Bale's header gave Tottenham a 17th-minute lead, and Lopes, with his first goal since joining LA in April, netted the equalizer in the 28t

The Galaxy made seven substitutions at halftime; Tottenham just two, bringing on six more players during the second half. Among LA's changes: rookie goalkeeper Brian Rowe making his club debut, Mike Magee returning from a shin injury, rookies Rafael Garcia and Tommy Meyer moving onto the backline, and Jack McBean joining fellow teen Villarreal up front. With LA fielding a less experienced lineup in the second half, Tottenham dominated the proceedings, but were unable to regain the lead despite a good look for Defoe and penalty appeals from Bale, Sigurdsson and youngster Harry Kane. The game was the fourth friendly the Galaxy has played against English opposition, though they have yet to win one of those games

FC Dallas vs LA Galaxy Predictions: FC Dallas 2-1 Over LA

The clubs are separated by just three points and FC Dallas has two games in hand. The Galaxy are coming off a two-game Pacific road trip, concluded with a crash in a 3-0 loss at Portland at midweek. Dallas is on fire as of late and it won’t help LA with Donovan Landon being suspended for this game

London Olympic Games 2012 Preview: Egypt U23 vs New Zealand U23 Predictions

Egypt U23 Preview

Egypt U-23 just came off of defeating Belgian side Lierse 2-1 in Monday in a friendly game in Belgium in preparation for the Olympics. Ghazl El-Mahalla forward Ahmed Magdy opened the scoring for Egypt in the 24 minutes of the game before Ahly’s striker, one of over-age player in the Egyptian team, doubled the seal for Egypt just seconds before the break. The Ahly striker and his teammates Mohamed Abou Treika and Ahmed Fathi who are also called by Coach Hany Ramzi as over-age players, appeared in a great form during the game. Former Ismaily fullback Ahmed Samir Farag scored the only goal for Lierse in the 58 minute of the game.

Egypt U23 vs New Zealand U23 Predictions: 1-1 Draw

Both of these teams are evenly matched. I don’t see any of them dominate each other. I can see these 2 teams be very methodical and careful in how they play each other.Look for a evenly played match.

London Olympic Games 2012 Preview: Mexico U23 vs Gabon U23 Predictions

Mexico U23 will face Gabon U23 in the 2012 London Olympic Games men’s football Group B branch at the City of Coventry Stadium on Sunday, July 29.

Mexico Preview

Mexico has long been considered as one of the world’s most prideful soccer nations, but they have never won an Olympic medal – ever. Their best finish in history was barely catching fourth place in 1968.

Mexico, already a strong team, was supposed to be stronger. Star striker Javier “Chicharito” Hernandez was barred from playing by his club, Manchester United, while forward Carlos Vela and midfielder Jonathan dos Santos both declined invitations to play, earning the ire of the Mexican Football Federation. If goal-scoring proves to be a problem for Mexico, the absences of Hernandez and Vela will be proven as the main factor.

As group favorites in a relatively weak Olympic field, Mexico is in the best-ever position to capture that elusive medal in London.

Gabon Preview

Gabon won the African Olympic qualifying tournament, in a dramatic struggle of sorts, rallying from deficits against South Africa and the Ivory Coast in the group stage to stay alive, surprising Senegal in the semifinals with an extra time goal in the 119th minute and again rallying from a goal down in the final against Morocco to win the African crown.

Gabon will not be expected to advance in its Olympic debut, but it’s safe to say that the Gabonese will not be intimidated by early deficits against more favored teams.

Mexico U23 vs Gabon U23 Predictions: Mexico U23 wins 2-1

Mexico is the obvious favorite, but Gabon has been proven as resilient prey. Mexico can win this as easy as it can get, though in the off-chance Gabon might surprise everyone. However, it’s just a surprise – probabilities aren’t based on unexpected outcomes.

London Olympic Games 2012 Preview: Japan U23 vs Morocco U23 Predictions

Japan will face Morocco in the 2012 London Olympic Games men’s football Group D branch at the St James Park, the home of Premiership club Newcastle United, on Sunday, July 29.

Japan Preview

Japan conquered their qualifying for this league with a loss to Syria as the only blemish on their copybook. A 2-0 win over Bahrain was the fixture that sure fired their advancement in a qualifying marathon that saw them score 17 goals in eight matches and concede six. Head coach Takashi Sekizuka took over the command structure in 2012.

Morocco Preview

Morocco has made it to this stage on six prior occasions but got past the group stage only once. They became part of Group D this time by reaching the finals of last year’s CAF African U23 Championship. However, in this championship, they lost to their rivals, Gabon. Team coach for the Moroccan team is Pim Verbeek from the Netherlands.

Japan U23 vs Morocco U23 Predictions: Japan wins 2-0

Japan being the favorite is the obvious winner. The Japanese obviously has a better record, with the Syrian defeat as their only liability. Morocco may be a regular qualifier, though not much a passer beyond the group stage, but Japan is on a roll.

London Olympic Games 2012 Preview: Senegal vs Uruguay Predictions

Senegal Preview

Senegal will be searching for a first ever Olympic Games appearance when they compete in the CAF Under-23 Championship in Morocco.

The West African side have yet to compete at the tournament but they are coming off a fourth-place finish at the recent All-Africa Games in Maputo which is their best placement on the continent.Oumar Wade (Lille, France), Abdoulaye Sané (Rennes, France) and Dieylani Fall (Auxerre, France) are all striker to be wary of, while Pape Maly Diamanka (Rayo Vallecano, Spain) looks a fine prospect as well. Defender Lamine Gassama (Lyon, France) is a full international already, while fellow defenders Saliou Ciss and Kara Thioune (both Tromso, Norway) have been making a name for themselves in Scandinavia as well. The only newcomer to the group ahead of the CAF Under-23 Championships is midfielder Ibrahima Khaliloulah Seck (Epinal, France).

Uruguay Preview

Uruguay came off of an impressive win against Panama earlier this week 2-0. Let’s face it Uruguay might not have the big names but, they sure pack a powerful offensive attack. Uruguay takes a back seat to no one . Led by super striker Edinson Cavani Recenty Cavani scored Napoli's 1000th away goal, with the club closing in on the heels of current top-of-the-table Milan. At the same time his pronouncement regarding the state of his nation's football retained its truth value when the Uruguay U-20s beat their Argentina counterparts with a footballing master class and secured a ticket to the London Olympics 2012. This is the first time in over 80 years that Uruguay will compete in Olympic football, having been the very first gold medalists in the discipline.

Sengal vs Uruguay Predictions: Uruguay 3-0 over Senegal

Senegal will have a tough time matching the speed of Uruguay also the defensive savvy Uruguay is very stingy on defense. I see Uruguay controlling the temp through possessions throughout this game.

London Olympic Games 2012 Preview: Korea U23 vs Switzerland U23 Predictions

Switzerland will face South Korea in the 2012 London Olympic Games men’s football Group B branch at the City of Coventry Stadium on Sunday, July 29.

Switzerland Preview

Switzerland is an obvious underdog, only being able to qualify this year in the Olympics (from 1988 onwards, the year they started joining again). Their only meaningful achievement is almost forgotten – a Silver medal in 1924. In the current incarnation of the Swiss team, Switzerland lost a recent friendly match to newcomer team Senegal, 1-0.

Korea Preview

South Korea is one of the favorites of the group, being a consistent qualifier for the past Olympics, as well as being a consistent top placer in the Asian games. Based on the past friendlies as well, the Koreans were able to defeat the last three teams,

Switzerland U23 vs Korea U23 Predictions: Korea wins 2-1

South Korea being the favorite is the obvious winner. The Koreans also outmatched Senegal – the team who defeated Switzerland earlier. It might be a factor that the Swiss are hungry for improvement with their first qualification in ages, but facing a powerhouse isn’t a joke.

London Olympic Games 2012 Preview:Great Britain U23 vs United Arab Emirates U23 Predictions

Team GB squares off Against the UAE at London’s Wembley Stadium on the 29th of July.

Great Britain Preview

After producing a somewhat lacklustre performance during the Euro 2012 tournament, Team Great Britain has something to look forward to this time. Team GB appear to have a good chance of claiming a medal, especially as their group includes the unfavorable UAE and Senegal, who qualified for the tournament after beating Oman in a play-off. The two top teams of each group, Group A being Great Britain’s, will receive the ticket to the quarter-finals.

It’s key players include the ancient yet still ticking Ryan Giggs, who has also been chosen to captian the squad, compatriot Craig Bellamy, the firebrand forward, another old timer, and an array of younger, hungrier players such as Butland in goal, Cleverley and Ramsey in middle of the park and Sturridge in attack.

Of course, their qualifications in entering the Olympics was no sweat at all, Great Britain gained automatic entry for being the hosting nation, but if the squad holds off against the UAE and Senegal, they have a shot at winning a medal.

United Arab Emirates Preview

The UAE are one of the surprise qualifiers for the 2012 Olympic games, having topped a group consisting of Asian footballing heavyweights like Australia, Iraq and Uzbekistan in AFC’s Pre-Olympic Tournament. They are not considered one of the Asian powerhouses.

During the Olympics, the squad will be led by the legendary striker IsmaeilMatar, considered by many as best footballer the country has ever produced, along with two promising star players, Ahmed Khalil and Ahmed Ali. But the lack of experience for the majority of the team players, regardless of their recent triumphs in the Asian stage, might be their biggest obstacle to overcome.

Great Britain U23 vs United Arab Emirates U23 Predictions: Draw 1-1

With the UAE’s recent victories that were considered major upsets by many and Team GB’s well weathered players, there’s really no telling who has the upper hand in this match-up

London Olympic Games 2012 Preview: Brazil U23 vs Belarus U23 Predictions

The Powerful Brazil meets Underdogs Belarus at Manchester’s Old Trafford on July 29.

Brazil Preview

Brazil is labelled as the "all-time top Olympic performer'' despite never winning the competition. Brazil has never won an Olympic Football tournament, but they have finished runners up twice in 1984 and 1988, third twice in 1996 and 2008, and fourth once in 1976. Compared to most of the 16 teams participating in the 2012 games, that record is an impressive one. The Brazilian Team gained entry into the 2012 Olympic tournament by winning last year’s South American U20 Championship in Peru, where star striker Neymar scored an outstanding nine goals. Squad coach Mano Menezes, is keen to put the trophy in the cabinet to give the national team some momentum when they host the 2014 Fifa World Cup and the Olympic gold medal is the lone major soccer trophy that Brazil has never won, and so the pressure is high on the Brazilian National Team than any other nation to succeed in London, with rumors that Menezes could be fired if the outcome is anything other than the gold medal.

Belarus Preview

Belarus’ journey to the 2012 London games has been nothing short of miraculous. First, theyshocked the highly favored Italy in a two-legged playoff just to qualify for the 2011 UEFA Under-21 Championships, which served as Europe’s ticket to the 2012 Olympic tournament, then somehow they managed to sneak into the Games as third-place finishersregardless of losing three of their five matches in the tournament and being outscored 8-5. To the minds of many, and safe to say on paper as well, the squad won’t be going too far.

However, shock and upsets are the key factors on why the Belarusian team is in the tournament after all. This being said, an upset just might waiting around the corner.

Brazil U23 vs Belarus U23 Predictions: Brazil 3-1

To many of those who will be reading this, a 3-1 victory is an understatement. But regardless, Brazil, with Neymar, the most talented individual player in the Olympic field plus a strong team behind, will be going far in the 2012 London Olympics.

London Olympic Games 2012 Preview: Spain U23 vs Honduras U23 Predictions

Spain will face Honduras in the 2012 London Olympic Games men’s football Group D branch at the St James Park, the home of Premiership club Newcastle United, on Sunday, July 29.

Spain Preview

Despite the national team and U21 sides being successful in recent competitions, Spain U23 have not reached this stage in the Olympics for 12 long years. In fact, it was their winning of last year’s UEFA U21 Championship that guaranteed them a place in this competition. Current team coach is Luis Milla and key players include Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea.

Honduras Preview

This is Honduras’ third time at the Olympics and they have qualified after winning three and losing two games at the Concacaf U23 Championships, the key match being the 3-2 triumph against El Salvador in the semi-finals before being conquered by Mexico in the finals. The offense is led by Roger Rojas and Eddie Hernandez. Nicknamed Los Catrachos, the team is headed by coach by Luis Fernando Suarez.

Spain U23 vs Honduras U23 Predictions: Spain wins 1-0

Spain has a better record, having fewer losses in the recent games compared to Honduras. But Spain hasn’t been this high in the league for so long, there is still a possibility of being beaten by Honduras. Odds will be a win by Spain, but a close call.

London Olympic Games 2012 Preview: Korea U23 vs Gabon U23 Predictions

Korea will face Gabon in the 2012 London Olympic Games men’s football Group B branch at the City of Millenium Stadium in Cardiff on Wednesday, August 1.

Korea Preview

Korea Republic qualified with three wins and three draws in six matches. The team has a strong offense led by Arsenal striker Park Chuyoung who has played in the 2006 and 2010 World Cups for the Koreans. In 59 appearances for the club, the striker has scored 25 times and is tied for 7th on the all time list for the squad. Ji Dongwon, Kim Bo-Kyung, and Koo Ja-Choel will also add support to the strong Korean offense. Defense for the Korea is rather solid with the exception of a few injuries, but the team should be able to put up a good battle with its speedy offensive talent.

Gabon Preview

Gabon is some sort of unknown wild card of the tournament. They struggled and won in the group stage in the qualifying tournament with one win, one loss, and one tie. Then they turned it up in the knockout rounds with a win over Senegal and then a championship win over Morocco. The team got goals from six different players including a brace from Emmanuel Ndong Mba in their win over Ivory Coast. That was their victory in any international tournament. They have never won a CAF African Cup of Nations and have never qualified for the World Cup. This marks their first appearance at the Olympic Games and the team's chance to make its name known on the international stage.

Korea U23 vs Gabon U23 Predictions: Korea wins 2-1

Korea and Gabon have been performing well, but Korea has the upper hand. Korea being the powerhouse, may avoid upsets by stopping Gabon’s scoring by being consistent with their defense.

London Olympic Games 2012 Preview:Senegal U23 vs UE Emirates U23 Predictions

Senegal Preview

Enters the Olympic Games by way of the CAF Under-23 Championship in Morocco. This will be the first time they have competed on this level of competition.

The current side is coached by former senior national team tactician Abdoulaye Sarr, with the players entering camp on November 21, just five days before their opening game of the tournament.

Most of the players are based in France, with a smattering in other parts of Europe such as Norway, Portugal and Spain.

Oumar Wade (Lille, France), Abdoulaye Sané (Rennes, France) and Dieylani Fall (Auxerre, France) are all striker to be wary of, while Pape Maly Diamanka (Rayo Vallecano, Spain) looks a fine prospect as well.

Defender Lamine Gassama (Lyon, France) is a full international already, while fellow defenders Saliou Ciss and Kara Thioune (both Tromso, Norway) have been making a name for themselves in Scandinavia as well.

UA Emirates Preview

UA Emirates recently came off of a 1-1 draw to Gabon and last week exploded offensively by scoring a 4-2 victory over New Zealand. Qualifying for London 2012 gives UAE their first ever appearance in the Men's Olympic Football Tournament and is yet another feather in the cap of coach Mahdi Ali. The experienced supremo previously led his country to victory in the 2008 AFC U-19 Championship, as well as a place at the FIFA U-20 World Cup in Egypt the following year. Much of the credit for their Olympic success must go to the close bond between coach and players, many of whom have spent a number of years under Ali's wing.

Senegal U23 vs UE Emirates U23 Predictions: 1-0 UA Emirates Over Senegal

Both teams come in with a lack of experience. This will be a test for both teams but, in the end UA Emirates has a better sound attack and a stingy defense to keep Senegal at bay . Look for a low scoring match but, UA Emirates will control the tempo.

London Olympic Games 2012 Preview: Brazil U23 Vs New Zealand U23 Predictions

Brazil Preview

After pretty much cementing himself as the 1st choice attacking midfielder for Mano’s squad during the last run of friendlies at Europe and USA and being linked to Tottenham and Chelsea, with the most likely landing place the latter, Oscar was also featured among the starters in the 1st Brazil U23 squad for the Olympics in London.

Mano Menezes built a squad composed of Rafael Cabral; Rafael, Thiago Silva, Juan and Marcelo; Sandro and Rômulo; Hulk and Oscar. This awkward line-up with no attacking reference was faced by Neto; Danilo, Bruno Uvini and Alex Sandro; Ganso, Lucas and Alexandre Pato; Neymar and Leandro Damião.

There could be only 18 players in the Olympic call-ups, and that’s why Mano couldn’t land complete teams at both sides. But the training today focused on defense. It also showed how Mano is willing to stick to his starter team in the most of the last friendlies.

New Zealand Preview

The New Zealand U-23 national football team, also known as the Oly Whites, represents New Zealand in U-23 competitions, namely the OFC U-23 Championships and the Olympic Games.

The Oly Whites are reigning Oceania Champions and represented the region at the 2008 Beijing Olympics – the team’s only appearance at the Summer Olympics to date.

Since 1992, the men’s Olympic Football Tournament has been an U-23 event with three overage players allowed per game.

Brazil U23 Vs New Zealand U23 Predictions: 3-1 Brazil Over New Zealand

This will be a very entertaining match but, at the end of the day Brazil is Brazil. They will dominate this match like any other though I see New Zealand not being a complete push over this will be an easy one for team Brazil

London Olympic Games 2012 Preview: Great Britain U23 vs Uruguay U23 Predictions

Great Britain squares off against Uruguay for a Group A match at Cardiff’s Millennium Stadium on August 1.

Great Britain Preview

Without a doubt, Team GB has been the most highlycontroversial team in the tournament to date. Great Britain’s entry into the competition has numerous issues clinging to it. Ever since it was decided that Great Britain will be entering a team in the football competition, there have been rumours of protest from the football clubs of the home nations of Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. These factors mostly lie on the issue of the independence of the clubs in participating in future championships as separate entities.

However, the majority of the players from the three Home Nations have from the very beginning displayed great enthusiasm in playing for Team GB., Ryan Giggs has been chosen as the captain of the team at the age of 38.His Welsh compatriot Craig Bellamy, a strong forward, is the third over-aged player in the squad but the rest of the players are promising youngsters such as Aaron Ramsey, Tom Cleverley, and Daniel Sturridge.

It is much too early at this stage to say whether or not Great Britain has a fighting chance against a team like Uruguay. Their entry into the competition was automatic, being the hosting nation.

Uruguay Preview

The Uruguay Olympic Football team has a pretty impressive Olympic record. The fact that the team is being led by ÓscarTabárez and consists of two-thirds of the force that led them to the World Cup semi-finals two years back, leaves very little room for any possible doubts. Indeed, Uruguay has every right to boast as one of the strongest squads among the sixteen teams competing in the 2012 Olympic football tournament.

Great Britain U23 vs Uruguay U23 Predictions: Uruguay 3-1

Let’s face it! Team Uruguay has all the artillery and their record shows that they have what it takes to go further up the ladder. Uruguay qualified for the 2012 Olympics by finishing second to Brazil in 2011 South American Youth Championship.

London Olympic Games 2012 Preview: Egypt U23 vs Belarus U23 Predictions

August 1 will showcase Egypt against Belarus at Hampden Park in Glasgow, Scotland.

Egypt Preview

Egypt qualified by finishing third place duringlast year’s CAF U23 tournament by beating Senegal in the third-place playoff. They won five, drew one and lost three of the qualifying games. The “Baby Pharoahs” have a sort of mission of healing.

It’s been a painful, tragic year in Egyptian soccer, marred by February’s Port Said Stadium disaster that left at least 79 people dead and over 1,000 injured after supporters of the home club,Egypt’s domestic league still hasn’t resumed their place in national football. But, players from both Al-Masry and Al-Ahly will share the plight for the Pharaohs in London, and a positive result would go a long way toward returning positive feelings about the game to the nation.

Belarus Preview

One of the most popular questions regarding this year’s Olympic tournament remains, “Will Belarus run out of luck?” Certainly luck has played a major role in the National Squad’s journey to the 2012 London Olympic Games. But who is to say another shocker won’t happen?

Forward, Sergei Kornilenko, the fourth leading scorer in Belarusian history will be the primary attack for these European underdogs. It’s Belarus’ first ever entry into such a major tournament and the squad should do what it takes to keep the flames burning.

Once again, Belarus shouldn’t go far in this tournament, but in a relatively weak group beyond Brazil, another surprise is certainly within their reach.

Egypt U23 vs Belarus U23 Predictions: Draw 1-1

Let’s see here, bothunderdogs, one squad is on a mission of sentimental and nationalistic value, the other squad seems to have an acquaintance with Lady Luck, there’s no telling whatsoever as to who holds the key to victory on this coming match. Plus it’s too early in the stages to really determine anything.

Japan Preview

Japan dominated their qualifying for this tournament with a defeat to Syria as the only bad apple. London Olympic Games 2012 Preview:Mexico U23 vs Switzerland U23 Predictions

Mexico will face Switzerland in the 2012 London Olympic Games men’s football Group B branch at the City of Millenium Stadium in Cardiff on Wednesday, August 1.

Mexico Preview

The Mexicans are the top contenders for the Gold and dominated CONCACAF in qualifications. They are squad that is deep in all four zones and have extra firepower up top with the addition of superstar Giovanni Dos Santos. Look for Dos Santos to have a huge tournament as he has already proven himself with the senior club in a number of big tournaments. Marco Fabian is another one to keep an eye on as he has shown flashes of offensive brilliance in qualifying.

Switzerland Preview

The Swiss won their group with three wins in three games. They scored six goals in those matches and gave up no goals, a reminder of this team's incredible commitment to defense under Coach Tami Pierluigi. They followed it up with a 1-0 win over the Czech Republic before conceding their only two goals in a 2-0 loss to Spain. Goalkeeper Diego Benaglio, who has experience in the 2010 World Cup, will lend some experience to a rather youthful club. Switzerland is understandably on the rise.

Mexico U23 vs Switzerland U23 Predictions: Mexico Wins 3-1

Mexico is the obvious favorite. Switzerland may be able to score, but Mexico’s elite status in this tournament is no joke for any rising teams like the Swiss.

Major League Soccer 2012 Preview: D.C. United vs Columbus Crew Predictions

Long-time Eastern Conference rivals and MLS Original Clubs, D.C. United and the Columbus Crew kick off the 2011 season by renewing acquaintances at RFK Stadium.

DC UNITED Preview

Since losing to the Crew 1-0 on July 21, D.C. (10-7-3, 33 pts.) has not seen any MLS action but did play a friendly against French club Paris Saint Germain on Saturday, July 28, to a 1-1 draw. This is the second of three matches between the clubs and D.C. will look to exact revenge on the loss suffered at Crew Stadium two weeks ago. D.C. United midfielder Chris Pontius has earned a lot of headlines this season. After leading the club in scoring through the first half of 2012, the 25-year-old burst onto the national scene last week with an MVP-performance in the MLS All-Stars' 3-2 win over Chelsea.

Columbus Preview

The Crew (8-7-4, 28 pts.), is coming off three consecutive wins, including a 2-1 victory over Stoke City FC of the English Premier League, in a friendly on July 24, in which homegrown products Aaron Horton and Ben Speas tallied their first professional goals. The Black & Gold will look to carry this momentum into RFK Stadium on Saturday night to capture precious points to help it climb back into playoff contention.

D.C. United vs Columbus Crew Predictions: United 2-1 Over The Crew

This is the game D.C breaks out after a loss to the Crew almost 2 weeks ago. They are at home and United will be hungry for this payback win. This game will be a thriller

Major League Soccer 2012 Preview: Houston Dynamo vs New York Red Bulls Predictions

MLS Soccer fans have something to look forward to in an epic match up against the number 1 Red Bulls Vs Number 2 Dynamo.

Houston Preview

I strongly believe it is the most meaningful game in Houston since the Texans-Bengals playoff game in January. Personally, I can't think of another game in this city where so much has been on the line since that NFL playoff game. The game will be played in front of a sellout crowd with a national TV audience tuning in (NBC Sports Network).

First-place is at stake, along with our seven-game unbeaten streak, our four-game winning streak and our unbeaten record at home.

It is also the first of two games versus New York. We travel to Red Bull Arena the following Friday for the second of a very unusual home-and-home series.

These are critical points in the Eastern Conference race with only 12 games to play.

New York Preview

The New York Red Bulls fell to the Tottenham Hotspur Tuesday night in the Barclays New York Cup Powered by Under Armour by the final of 2-1.

The Red Bulls opened up the scoring early in the eighth minute courtesy of a Kenny Cooper penalty kick. The opportunity presented itself courtesy of newcomer Tim Cahill, who in his debut drew the foul following a strong drive into the box in what was his first run on goal in a Red Bulls jersey. Cahill remained a constant buzz in the offensive zone throughout the first 45 minutes leading up to his halftime substitution.

New York entered the half holding onto a 1-0 lead, but Tottenham turned things around in the final 45 on goals from Gareth Bale (59') and Gylfi Sigurdsson (64').

Goalkeeper Bill Gaudette registered a number of impressive saves throughout the match to keep New York in the race for a win, including a 12th minute save off Bale's free kick, a stellar save off a Tom Huddleston rocket in the 16th minute and a point blank stop of an Aaron Lennon shot in the 54th minute.

Houston Dynamo vs New York Red Bulls Predictions: Houston 2-1 Over New York

This is the game the Dynamos need and the game they will take over 1st place with. Though it will be tough and a highly anticipated game to watch Houston will take this 1st game.

London Olympic Games 2012 Preview: Mexico U23 vs Senegal Predictions

Mexico U23 Preview

Striker Oribe Peralta combined with Tottenham forward Giovani dos Santos to score the only goal of the game against Switzerland on Wednesday and secure a place for Mexico in the Olympic men's soccer quarterfinals. Mexico's goal came at 69 minutes after sustained Mexican pressure. Dos Santos dribbled at the Swiss defense and then laid the ball on to Peralta, who fired a powerful shot to the right of the Swiss keeper Diego Benaglio.

Mexican defense that has yet to concede a goal in the tournament.

Senegal U23 Preview

Senegal is lead by Moussa Konate, who is leading the race for the golden boot, and the Mexican defense needs to be careful. He has a nose for goals, and he can finish in front of the net. Individually, he isn't the most creative or dangerous player on the pitch. Senegal has conceded two goals in the tournament, which is respectable. But Mexico has a 270-minute clean sheet so far. Both teams have played well in the back, but Mexico has been slightly better.

Mexico U23 vs Senegal Predictions: Mexico 3-0 over Senegal

Look for Mexico to be aggressive and press 80 yards from their own goal.Though Senegal were incredibly physical in the group stage, and that should continue but, I look for stud Giovani dos Santos to carve them down on them with a full head of steam. Plus Mexico’s defense is super stingy having yet to concede a goal in the tournament

London Olympic Games 2012 Preview: Japan U23 vs Egypt U23 Predictions

Japan U23 Preview

A late winner from Kensuke Nagai gave Japan a 1-0 win over Morocco at St James' Park to ensure their place in the quarter-finals.

Nagai lobbed home with just seven minutes remaining, after racing onto a clever flicked pass from Hiroshi Kiyotake, giving the Blue Samurai a deserved win against a Moroccan side lacking any punch or penetration. Takashi Sekizuka's side, outstanding on the counter-attack in their surprise victory over Spain - when they really should have won by more than just the single goal - struggled to trouble the Moroccans in the opening 35 minutes, but almost took the lead when Yuki Otsu curled a splendid 25-yard effort just wide.

Egypt U23 Preview

Egypt U23 is showing the world they came to play football. Coming off of a statement win over Belrus 3-1 and played a poor 1st half against Brazil but, put up a strong fight in the 2nd half they ended up losing 3-2. Therefore, African team will be focusing their efforts to win the full 3 points and pass the first round. And the door of their victory is high, because current form of the Belarus U23 is pretty terrible with 3 defeats in the closest 4 matches.

In the nearest 9 games of Egypt U23 had the goal is scored in the first half. In the last two matches of Belarus, the goal is also scored in the first 45 minutes.

Japan U23 vs Egypt U23 Predictions: Egypt 3-2 over Japan

This game will be a shoot out . I think Egypt showed us all against Brazil that they can compete. Egypt will control the tempo for most of this game. Look for Egypt to strike first but, make no mistake about it Japan will put up a fight

Major League Soccer 2012 Preview: New England Revolution vs Sporting Kansas City Predictions

Sporting K.C. heads off to the East Coast to face the Revolution on the 4th of August at the Gillette Stadium, Foxborough, Massachussets.

Sporting Kansas City Preview

Having grabbed a number three spot in the Eastern Conference, Sporting Kansas City looks to be in good shape. In the overall Power Rankings, Sporting is at number six, that’s including all the teams from both the Eastern and the Western Conference. With twenty two games so far in the season, the boys from Kansas City managed to acquire a total of 37 points from eleven wins, four draws, and seven losses.

Now they will go up against the New England Revolution in home turf. A team with this type of attacking talent shouldn't struggle to score goals at home but that was an overstatement as proven last July 21 when the game ended in a draw. Despite the fact that Sporting managed to maintain their Eastern standing, the team’s last five games was far from spectacular having loss three and ending at a tie on two games. They need to step up their offense this time around.

New England Revolution Preview

The Revolution seems much like a wayward group having something like two goals in four matches. They really need to step up their element of attack and utilize strong players in their line-up like predator Jerry Bengston. At number nine in the Eastern Conference with a total of 23 points out of 21 games with six wins, five draws, and ten defeats, the New England Revolution needs to practice more attack and less slack. Despite an unfortunate string of losses and a less then outstanding ranking, the wayward Revs held off pretty well against Sporting during their last match up. A tight defense can go a long way but an even stronger offense can lead a team to victory.

New England Revolution vs Sporting Kansas City Predictions: Draw 0-0

It’s much safer to say that a draw is more of a probability. Sporting with their string of bad games and the Revolution with their less than desirable track record. But I would have to say that if the tides do tip to oneside, it would definitely have to go the Kansas City.

Seattle Sounders vs LA Galaxy Predictions: Seattle Sounders wins 2-1

Through the years, their head to head matches seem to be dominated by LA Galaxy. However, Seattle seems to have the upper hand in their recent conflicts. The Fire has seen better days, with their five last games bringing in only one victory, against the Vancouver Whitecaps. The rest is three losses and one draw. Nevertheless, Chicago Fire has maintained a standing in the Eastern Conference with in the top five circle, #5 to be exact. They have accumulated a total of 32 points out of twenty one games with nine wins, five draws, and seven losses.

However, Toronto has seen better of recent when compared to the Chicago Fire. Their five previous games racked in three victories with only one loss and one draw. This is better than the Fire’s recent five games.

Major League Soccer 2012 Preview: Colorado Rapids vs Real Salt Lake Predictions

Real Salt Lake square off with Colorado Rapids at Dick's Sporting Goods Park in Denver, Colorado on the 4th of August.

Colorado Rapids Preview

The season is pretty much over for the Colorado Rapids after dropping every single point in July, almost all of said points were against their Western Conference competition. The Rapids have already been knocked out of every cup competition except for the MLS Cup, and the playoffs seem like it’s a thousand years away as well. So it’s not an overstatement to say that this upcoming match-up with Real Salt Lake may just be the most important game of the season for the Colorado team. The Rocky Mountain Cup is pretty much the only thing that the Rapids can accomplish this season and they will be going against the second best team in the league. It’s like pitting a pinscher against a pit bull.

Basically, to keep themselves in the RMC they'll need to get at least a point out of Salt Lake. Maybe using the diamond 4-4-2 formation will be effective against RSL. It sure did the Rapids some good against Portland.

Real Salt Lake Preview

Salt Lake remains in contention for the MLS Supporters' Shield, which goes to the year's best regular-season team. They have the second highest ranking in the league and that’s with both the Western and the Eastern Conference combined. In the West alone, Real Salt Lake stands at number two with just two points behind the San Jose Earthquakes. Racking in a total of 42 point with just twenty games played so far this season, RSL is a force to be reckoned with.

Colorado Rapids vs Real Salt Lake Predictions: Real Salt Lake 4-0

London Olympic Games 2012 Preview: Korea Republic U23 vs Brazil U23 Predictions

Korea Republic U23 Preview

Korea Republic looks to prove to the world why they belong with the elite. Mexico and South Korea may have ended their opening Olympic game knotted in a 0-0 tie, but the game certainly wasn't lacking for intrigue.

The Koreans were relentless, pressing Mexico high up the pitch and dominating the early play. But Mexico played solid defense of its own and started developing some creativity in the attack when star player Giovani Dos Santos finally made an appearance in the second half.

South Korea probably deserved the win, but give Mexico credit for keeping them off the score sheet.

Brazil U23 Preview

Brazil narrowly escaped with a 3-2 victory over 10-man Honduras on Saturday, twice coming from behind to advance to the semifinals of the men's Olympic soccer tournament.

Honduras got goals early in each half but couldn't hold on as the Brazilians played with an extra man from the 33rd minute after defender Wilmer Crisanto was sent off with two yellow cards just a minute apart.

Leandro Damiao scored the winner in the 60th minute after clearing a defender near the penalty spot after a pass from Neymar.

Earlier, Mario Martinez put Honduras ahead in the 12th minute before Damiao equalized in the 38th. Roger Espinoza then gave Honduras the lead again in the 48th, but Neymar evened the score by converting a penalty kick in the 50th and Damiao kept Brazil on track for its first Olympic gold medal 10 minutes later.

Korea Republic U23 vs Brazil U23 Predictions: Korea Republic Over Brazil 2-1

London Olympic Games 2012 Preview: Mexico U23 vs Japan U23 Predictions

Mexico U23 Preview

The Mexico soccer team flexed their muscles in a one-sided 1-0 victory over Switzerland on Wednesday in the final match for both teams in Group B play at the 2012 Olympics

Mexico will advance to the knockout round for the first time since 1996 after registering seven points in Group B.

There was no question who the better team was throughout this match. Mexico dominated the time of possession battle and at times seemed almost too patient. They were seeking the perfect opportunity to strike and found it in the 69th minute on a beautiful goal by Oribe Peralta Morones. With rain steadily pouring for large stretches of the match, the field was a tad sloppy, and the passing of both teams wasn’t crisp. It certainly won’t go down as one of the most thrilling matches ever, but Mexico did what they had to do.

Japan U23 Preview

Japan is showing the world why they belong in the semis. They came off of a stunning victory over powerhouse Spain defeating them 1-0 . Japan ran out shock a 1-0 winner over 10-man Spain in the Olympic Group D fixture at Hampden Park in Glasgow, courtesy of a goal in the 34th minute from Yuki Otsu following some questionable defending from Martin Montoya.

Kensuke Nagai and Hiroshi Kiyotake could have made it a more comfortable win for Takashi Sekizuka's side as both wasted good chances either side of halftime, but Spain struggled to trouble Shuichi Gonda in the Japan goal, particularly after Inigo Martinez's sending-off at the end of the first half. Despite Spain's dominance of possession in the first 25 minutes, Japan looked dangerous on the break and grew in confidence as the half wore on, with lone front-man Kensuke Nagai in particular proving a handful for the La Roja defense.

Mexico U23 vs Japan U23 Predictions: Mexico 2-0 Over Japan

Japan’s Cindrella story ends here. Mexico’s attack will be too much for team Japan to hold with their brilliant defense it’s just going to be to tough for Japan. I see Mexico controlling most of the time during the game

Japan will now play South Korea to try to match the bronze medal from 1968 in Mexico City.

Korea Preview

Korea put up a heck of a fight in the semis against Brazil. But the Brazilians who struggled early against South Korea at Old Trafford before taking control of the match after defensive midfielder Romulo opened the scoring with a low shot from inside the area following a pass by playmaker Oscar in the 38th minute.

Damiao scored twice in the 57th and 64th to seal the victory and become the tournament's leading goal scorer with six goals, surpassing Senegal's Moussa Konate.

"We had difficulties in the beginning of the match but the goal came at the right moment and we were able to slowly regain control," Menezes said. "What matters the most is that we got our fifth straight win and reached our goal to make it to the final."

Japan Preview

Japan came out swinging against powerhouse and heavily favored Mexico.Mexico escaped and got the win on Tuesday thanks to a swerving long-rage strike by Oribe Peralta in the 65th, breaking a deadlock after Japan opened the scoring with a shot by Yuki Otsu in the 12th and Marco Fabian headed in a corner for Mexico's equalizer in the 31st. Javier Cortes scored the third goal deep in second-half injury time. In the final minute Peralta then released Javier Cortes down the right with a clever backheel and the substitute held off the defence before squeezing his shot beneath Shuichi Gonda in the Japanese goal.

"That's just it, we are 90 minutes away from history," Mexico defender Carlos Salcido said. "That is the way we are looking at it."

English Premier League 2012 Preview : Arsenal vs Sunderland Predictions

Arsenal look to unleash new pick up Santi Cazorla against Sunderland FC.

Arsenal Preview

Arsenal have strengthened their midfield with the acquisition of Spaniard Santi Cazorla from troubled La Liga side Malaga, the latest player from the world and European champions to make the move to the English Premier League. "Arsenal Football Club is delighted to announce that Spain international Santi Cazorla has joined the club on a long-term contract," Arsenal said on their website. All this did was beef up Arsenal. They now posses possibly the best core of mid fielders in the Premier League.

Sunderland Preview

Martin O'Neill will step up his striker search this week after watching his Sunderland side draw another pre-season blank.

Sunderland’s 2-0 defeat against Swedish champions Helsingborgs marked the third time in four friendly outings that the Wearsiders have failed to find the net.

And it showed just why O’Neill is so desperate to bring in more firepower before the big Premier League kick-off in a fortnight’s time.

Teenager Connor Wickham joined Sunderland last summer but is yet to live up to his £8m pricetag, and he wasted the Black Cats’ best chance against the Swedes.

The half-time sub had only been on the pitch for three minutes when he collected a clever pass from Fraizer Campbell inside the box, but he took an extra touch when he had only the goalkeeper to beat and that allowed defender Emil Krafth to get in a vital block.

Helsingborgs had already proved a threat in the first half, with Sunderland keeper Keiran Westwood working overtime to keep out efforts from Kaka and Krafth, while Kieran Richardson also made a goalline clearance.

Arsenal vs Sunderland Predictions: Arsenal 2-0 over Sunderland

With the combination of a strong offensive attack from Arsenal and the lack of scoring from Sunderland this is a no brainer. Arsenal will control this game from beginning to end. New pick up Cazorli will make an impact on this game.

English Premier League 2012 Preview: Fulham vs Norwich City Predictions

Fulham FC looks to continue their streak in the Premier League against Norwich.

Fulham Preview

Fulham goes into the Premier League coming off of a 1-0 win over the Dons.Fulham though forced the first save of the game when Marcello Trotta twisted and turned in the box before firing a low effort on goal, which David Martin could only throw a leg at to keep out. Hugo Rodallega couldn’t direct his header from the resulting corner.

From there though, it was fairly one-way traffic, as the Premier League boys began to flex their muscles, dominating possession and pinning Dons back into their own half. Hugo Rodallega made an immediate impact for Fulham by notching a late winner in their penultimate pre-season friendly at MK Dons.

Norwich City Preview

The Canaries’ penultimate warm-up match, against Championship side Hull City at the KC Stadium, ended goalless, as did their trip to Milton Keynes four days earlier.

While there has been a reassuringly solid look about the defence in City’s domestic friendlies, with just one goal conceded in five matches, they have not found the net since Anthony Pilkington’s seventh-minute free-kick against Ajax at Carrow Road, a total of 263 minutes without scoring.

Five different strikers took the field for the Canaries against the Tigers, but four of them played only the final 20 minutes as part of the mass substitutions so frequent in pre-season friendlies.

Skipper Grant Holt had a couple of half-chances in the opening period, but there were few openings for either side and both goalkeepers could have taken a good book with them for the quieter moments, of which there were many.

Manager Chris Hughton made nine changes from the team that started the goalless draw at MK Dons.

Fulham vs Norwich City Predictions: Fulham Over Norwich 1-0

Fulham FC is the bottom line better team with a much more solid attack on offense and good enough defense to hold off Norwich.

QPR and Swansea City look for a much needed win in the Premier League.

Brazil Preview

Brazil edged closer to their dream of an Olympic football title yesterday, easing into a final showdown with Mexico after a comfortable 3-0 victory over South Korea.

The Brazilians, bronze medallists in Beijing four years ago, booked their place in Saturday’s showpiece match at Wembley after two goals from Leandro and Romulo ended the South Koreans involvement in the tournament. The opening goal came for Brazil on 38 minutes from Vasco Da Gama defender Romulo after South Korea’s Ki Sung-Yueng was dispossessed in midfield.

Oscar surged forward deep into South Korean territory before feeding Romulo whose shot at the near post slipped under goalkeeper Lee Bum-Young.

Brazil all but made the game safe 12 minutes into the second half with a cleverly worked goal.

Marcelo suddenly quickened Brazil’s tempo and found Neymar inside the area, cutting the ball back to Leandro who drilled his low shot beyond Lee.

Leandro then bagged his second of the night seven minutes later, deftly toe-poking his effort into the bottom corner to make it 3-0.

Mexico Preview

Mexico has been stellar since this whole tournament began not just on their offensive attack but more important on their defense. At one point, Mexico went 300 minutes without conceding a goal in the Olympics until Senegal broke that streak last weekend. Against Japan, Mexico advanced to the first Olympic football final in their history after coming from behind to defeat Asian giants Japan 3-1.

English Premier League 2012 Preview: Newcastle United vs Tottenham Hotspur Predictions

Newcastle Preview

This is probably harsh on Newcastle but it will be tough for them to repeat their fifth-place finish of last season.

With the outstanding development of striker Papiss Cisse, fellow forward Demba Ba seemed to tail off after a wonderful start to the campaign in 2011.

Ba's relatively low £7 million contractual release clause has been subject to much transfer speculation this offseason but even if Ba stays, he will have to learn to play alongside Cisse and start scoring goals again.

Newcastle's season will hinge on their performances in early 2013 as both Ba and Cisse should be in South Africa for the African Cup of Nations, pending qualification and selection.

A series of strong defensive displays early in the year that sparked a long run of clean sheets saw Newcastle maintain their form throughout the year.

Their defense will have to be as good this year if the Magpies want to emulate their success of last term.

Tottenham Preview

While the management situation at White Hart Lane is still uncertain, Spurs have been able to persuade star winger Gareth Bale to sign a new four-year with the club.

Luka Modric's future with the club looks a little more uncertain with the likes of Real Madrid, Manchester United and Chelsea sniffing around the Croatian playmaker.

Spurs are no stranger to Modric rumours though and chairman Daniel Levy was able to keep hold of his prized midfielder even after the player himself asked to leave the club.

Once a manager is appointed—at the moment the favourite is Andre Villas-Boas—Spurs' chances in the Premier League will become

English Premier League 2012 Preview: West Ham United vs Aston Villa Predictions

West Ham United Preview

West Ham had an up-and-down season under Sam Allardyce last year and their home form wasn't brilliant. Four defeats and eight draws last season suggest that they could be vulnerable in front of their own fans.

West Ham will be looking to impress on their return to the league but these two teams could end up cancelling each other out. A draw should satisfy both sets of fans but Villa could just nick it.

Aston Villa Preview

Villa has been dealt with a major set back winger Marc Albrighton will miss several weeks of the new Premier League season because of a foot injury. Villa made the announcement on their official website on Friday, revealing that the 22-year-old will be out of all footballing action until at least October. This is a big loss for Villa as most of their offense starts and finishes with Albrighton.

West Ham United vs Aston Villa Predictions: West Ham over Villa 1-0

West Ham needs to get off on the right foot with a win in front of their home crowd with the minus of Villa’s Albrighton this might be a great way to start off the Premier League

English Premier League 2012 Preview: Wigan Athletic vs Chelsea Predictions

Wigan Athletics will look to see if they can continue their roll against Chelsea.

Wigan Athletic Preview

Wigan Athletic dazzled at the end of last season, winning seven of its final nine matches to avoid relegation. If the team is forced into a similar situation this year, will Roberto Martinez be able to pull off another magical run?

The Latics have narrowly avoided relegation three times since joining the English Premier League in 2005-06. None of there escapes were more dramatic than in 2011-12, when they defeated Liverpool, Manchester United, Arsenal and Newcastle during the final seven weeks of the season.

But the team would do their supporters a favor if they would secure a spot in next year's Premiership a little earlier this season.

Chelsea Preview

It is hard to imagine Chelsea struggling to score goals considering the hundreds of millions of euros spent to strengthen the attack, but that is exactly what could happen again this season.

Fernando Torres will now be the clear starter with Drogba gone, so there will be immense pressure on the Spaniard to regain his top form of years past.

With Daniel Sturridge and maybe Romelu Lukaku the only options behind Torres, there is no top-class, consistent striker to be called upon if Torres slumps again.

One would imagine that he would find it much easier to score with Juan Mata and Eden Hazard behind him, but as he showed at the Euros this summer, a lot of his worries are not overcome by world-class teammates.

Wigan Athletic vs Chelsea Predictions: Wigan Athletic 3-1 Over Chelsea

Chelsea forked out the big bucks this off season but, I don’t think it will be enough time for this team to gel. Wigan on the other hand will continue their roll and sound attack to take their opening game against Chelsea.

Spanish La Liga 2012 Preview: Celta Vigo vs Malaga Predictions

Celta de Vigo and Malaga go Head to Head on August 18 at the Stadium Balaidos.

Celta Vigo Preview

The team from Vigo, Galicia have currently been hanging in strong with their five previous matches resulting in four wins and one draw. They’ve already fared well having done satisfactorily in 9 games since their last loss. Not bad for a team known for not being a strong offensive. But what they lack in attack, they make up in their defense. Celta de Vigo’s average goal record is only 0.9 goals conceding on average.

For this team to go far in the league, they need to step up their attack mode, especially against bull players like Real Madrid or Barcelona. But nevertheless they seem to be a much stronger team when being compared to Malaga with a slightly better track record.

Malaga Preview

Coming out of Andalusia, Malaga CF in their last six matches, has lost three games, one against Atletico Madrid another with Villareal, and with Barcelona when they were smashed 4-1. They have two wins and two draws as well.

Not much difference in track record with Celta de Vigo regarding things such as goal average, but Celta has more win in their belt so far this season. Malaga looks to be the underdogs in this up-coming match so they need to step up their offense as well as defense. One sure way to beat Celta is to take possession of the game during the onset and maintain that authority throughout. But Celta has a pretty good defense line so Malaga needs to step up and play the aggressor.

Celta Vigo vs Malaga Predictions: Celta De Vigo 3-1

Overall favorites in this match up. Celta has proven to be the more consistent of the two with more win under them. Though both teams’ goal average is roughly about the same, Celta has better defense.

Spanish La Liga 2012 Preview: Sevilla vs Getafe Predictions

Sevilla and Getafe meet this Saturday, August 18 at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan Stadium.

Sevilla Preview

In their last five games, Sevilla has gotten only two wins with two losses and two draws. Not much to be optimistic about with a track record like Sevilla’s. But if look at their victories, it’s pretty impressive. Their last win was against RayoVallecano with five goals to Rayo’s two. Considering the losses, Sevilla has managed to tally up an average of three goals a game, but this is mostly due to their dramatic victories. But against more powerful teams such as Real Madrid, whose defense is strong, they do not stand a chance. Last April, they lost to Madrid 3-1.

For a team as inconsistent as Sevilla, there’s really no telling what can happen. They have their bad days and they have their awesome ones too. A victory over Getafe will see them overtake Malaga in fifth place at the La Liga table so this is a deciding factor for the team. Last April, they were overrun by Getafe with a loss of 1-5. Coach Marcelino Garcia look to compensate last April’s embarrassment.

Getafe Preview

Ever since pouncing on Sevilla last April with a victory of 5-1, Getafe seems to head in a downhill trend. Their last five matches saw three losses and two draws. On August 18, Getafe will head to enemy territory visiting Sevilla’s home turf. On average, the team has only 0.8 goals scored per away game.

Against a team like Sevilla, whose inconsistencies seem like a fixture, Getafe might a have a chance at a much need victory. They would just need to choose the right formation and step up their attack.

Sevilla vs Getafe Predictions: Sevilla 1-0

As of right now, Sevilla seems to be in better form. They have significantly more victories and a better track record than Getafe ever since their previous meeting.

Spanish La Liga 2012 Preview: Mallorca vs RCD Espanyol Predictions

Both Teams Go Head Up as the La Liga Race Gets More Congested on August 18, at the Son Moix Stadium.

Mallorca Preview

Mallorca, during their last five games has won twice, tied up twice, and lost once. They currently hold the number 11 spot in the Spanish Primera Division. Mallorca holds an average of two goals per game. Despite their previous match against Real Madrid last May where they lost 1-4, they seem to be at a steady pace towards the top ten and are in better form now than earlier in the year.

One thing that this team needs to do is maintain consistency. Of course it is understood why they lost to Real Madrid, the boys from Madrid have been packing fire power for some time now. Their next match against Espanyol, who stands at sixth in the tables can be a prelude to their rise.

RCD Espanyol Preview

The boys from Espanyol has truly seen better days. Their last game ended in a draw with Zaragoza and the one before that saw a victory against Montpellier. The team has been pretty slow on trying to gain the momentum that they possessed early on. Nevertheless, Espanyol managed to maintain their standing the Spanish Primera. Going up against teams that are fighting for higher standings may be a challenge for the Espanyols. Mallorca seem very determined and with an average of 2 goals against, the Espanyols need to tighten their defences.

Espanyol also has an average of only 0.8 goals per away game signifying a weakness in the offensive side. Their last match up against Barcelona showed no scores while the opposing team gained 4 ended the game with a 4-0 defeat for the Espanyol.

Mallorca vs RCD Espanyol Predictions: Draw 1-1

Both the teams’ track record by far barely differs and while Espanyol has somewhat gained more accomplishments early in the year, Mallorca seem determined to take this game. Well, atleast they should be, this is a turning point for the team as previously mentioned.

Spanish La Liga 2012 Preview : Real Zaragoza vs Real Valladolid Predictions

The two teams meet again for the first time since last 2010 on August 20 of this year.

Real Zaragoza Preview

Real Zaragoza has a long battle ahead especially at being on the bottom of the totem pole. An upward battle is inevitable as team is scheduled to meet with Valladolid, who isn’t too far ahead this coming Monday. But this season show’s a good track record for Zaragoza with their five previous games having four wins and one loss. Defense is somewhat better for Zaragoza than last year. Now, the team is averaging at one goal against. They average at 1.5 goals made per game giving them an edge against up coming opponents, Valladolid.

To top it off Ivory Coast powerhouse Romaric is set to join so there are things to look forward to with the team.

Real Valladolid Preview

Real Valladolid has not seen the top half of the table being at number 19 just ahead of Zaragoza by one step. Their last five matches saw one draw, one loss, and three wins, one win including a 3-0 smash against Cordoba CF last June 6. The team is what you can informally categorize as one of the inconsistent. Some games are really bad and some games are really good. This is one of the teams that change their formation as often as Arsenal changes it’s players.

Real Zaragoza vs Real Valladolid Predictions: Zaragoza 1-0

With a strong defense and satisfactory attack added with a slightly better and more consistent track record for the current year, Zaragoza would have to be the favorites. But one dilemma has got to be Valladolid’s unpredictable nature so anything can happen.

Spanish La Liga 2012 Preview : Royo Vallecano vs Granada Predictions

Vallecano and Granada square off this August 18 at the EstadiodelRayoVallecano in Madrid.

Royo Vallecano Preview

Being at home court should an advantage for Vallecano or at least be taken advantage of by the aforementioned team. Their five previous match ups were short of disasters mostly on the fact that four losses came in one after another. The most significant losses for this year happened last April 29 against Barcelona when the opposing team scored a whopping 7 points without even once letting Vallecano come in with a goal and the other was against Sevilla last May 5 where Sevilla scored five points but Vallecano however, had managed to get in 2 points during the game.

Head Coach Ramon Sandoval has led a campaign against Granada since their first match up this season last May 13. The game led to a 1-0 victory against Granada and this game was an important factor which can lead to a significant standing for the team in the La Liga table.

Granada Preview

At number eight in the La Liga table, Granada is obviously within the top ten and has proven to be a force against, well at least the lower place teams within the Spanish League. Now this coming August 21 on Tuesday, they will once again meet up with rivals RayoVallecano. The last match up went to the Vallecano side with a 0-1 loss for Granada.

But the defense of Granada is one thing to look at, Granada defense is strong and that can very well be Vallecano’sbrickwall.

Royo Vallecano vs Granada Predictions: Rayo Vallecano 1-0

Sometimes offense can overcome good defense once it finds that opening and that’s just what team RayoVallecano needs to do.

Spanish La Liga 2012 Preview : Deportivo La Coruna vs Osasuna Predictions

La Coruna and Osasuna meet for the first time since 2011 this Monday, August 20.

Deportivo La Coruna Preview

Despite a number five slot in the La Liga table, Deportivo La Coruna has fared better than their five previous games. Their last five matches saw only one victory against three losses and one draw. Having won none of their matches so far they are by far the weakest team in the league. Having won almost none of their matches so far they are by far the weakest team in the league. They have almost no goal scoring capacity and receive just too many goals, especially when playing away.

Osasuna Preview

For the coming match up against La Coruna, manager Camacho wants to rotate some of his players and he is expected to field only four players of his usual starting line-up. With an interest to giving rest to some of the players than winning this match, we will be seeing a much weaker team than usual. So far, Osasuna has fared much better when compared to La Coruna. This is probably due to their best attribute which is their defense. But it contrasts a great deal with their goal making capacity.

Deportivo La Coruna vs Osasuna Predictions: Draw 0-0

Both teams have don’t seem to have that much interest in winning the match. Osasuna will be fielding a sub team and Deportivo will be trying new things. It seems that both teams have their interests more set in defence than attack.

English Premier League 2012 Preview: West Ham United vs Fulham Predictions

Fulham will bring in their high octane offense against West Ham in the English Premier League.

West Ham United Preview

Sam Allardyce's West Ham United—who also got off to a winning start by beating a poor AstonVilla side 1-0.

Big Sam's team come into this game still on the lookout for a striker to lead the line but in the process of providing the foundations for such a move by further strengthening with a £10 million transfer for Wolves' Matt Jarvis expected to go through in the next couple of days.

Should Jarvis sign in time for Saturday he will almost instantly go into a team who have proved extremely hard to break down on their travels. West Ham are unbeaten away from home since last February, but have also struggled in terms of creativity.

Fulham Preview

Fulham enjoyed their best ever start to a Premiership season with a 5-0 trouncing of Norwich City but they travel to Old Trafford in trepidation rather than in temerarious form.

The main reason for this is that Fulham have lost 19 of their last 20 visits to Old Trafford and overall they have only beaten United three times since 1935.

To beat United this weekend, they will need Feguson to make similar selection mistakes and attack across midfield where they can expose United's lack of pace.

They will also need Mladen Petric, Kacaniklic and Damien Duff to continue where they left off last week. Petric scored twice on his debut while Duff became only the second Irish player, after Robbie Keane, to score in 13 Premier League seasons.

English Premier League 2012 Preview: Swansea City vs Sunderland Predictions

Sunderland will depend on the signing of mid fielder Steven Fletcher to aid their offensive attack against Swansea City .

Swansea City Preview

Michael Laudrup stepped into some tough shoes to fill after Brendan Rodgers vacated his office at the Liberty Stadium for the greener grass of Anfield.

But to give credit where it is due, Laudrup has come in and has carried on using the same philosophy and system as Rodgers but has added his own greater knowledge of Spanish football to the mix. Namely in the acquisition of Michu who impressed from central midfield with two goals on his debut as the Swans won 5-0 over QPR.

Sunderland Preview

O'Neill has one of the most underrated defences in the Premier League with converted left back Kieran Richardson, ex-Manchester United star John O'Shea, new signing Carlos Cuellar and Phil Bardsley are all providing cover for one of the best keepers in the league, Simon Mignolet.

Their midfield is typically hardworking, whether O'Neill uses four or five, and it is of little surprise to see the club linked with Steven Fletcher due to their toothless attack.

If he can come in before Saturday, then this game will take a turn on its head as without a recognised striker, despite having the injury prone Louis Saha on their books, the Black Cats will struggle to convert chances.

English Premier League 2012 Preview: Tottenham Hotspur vs Norwich City Predictions

Norwich City looks to bounce back from their loss. Can they do it against Tottenham.

Tottenham Hotspur Preview

This game is Tottenham's to win or lose, and that will seemingly all come down to whether or not they can get their attack going. If they can start to "gel," you'd have to think that West Brom don't really have much of a chance in this one.

Tottenham have made big signings over the summer transfer window up front—namely Emmanuel Adebayor from Manchester City and Gylfi Sigurdsson from Hoffenheim—which will help their attack throughout the season.

However, for mine, the biggest move they made was keeping both Gareth Bale and Rafael van der Vaart at White Hart Lane—agreeing on new contracts with both of them. If Bale can get going down the wings, Spurs are always a tough team to beat.

Norwich City Preview

Norwich, it is the first time that new manager Chris Hughton will present his squad in front of the home fans.

Hughton put an emphasis on defense in the offseason by bringing in Michael Turner and Steven Whittaker. In the wake of Norwich's defeat, Hughton has done what any manager whose club gets beaten by five goals in their opener would do, and that is to bring in more defenders.

Former Tottenham defender Sebastien Bassong was signed this week and Lazio left-back Javier Garrido should join the club on loan in the next few days.

English Premier League 2012 Preview: West Bromwich Albion vs Everton Predictions

West Bromwich will come in this game with their balanced attack against a banged up Everton.

West Bromwich Albion Preview

Steven Clarke formerly Denny Dalglish's assistant a tLiverpool, has taken the helm.

Given Albion's first performance under their new boss—a 3-0 waxing of that Liverpool side that finished two spots above them in the league standings last season—fans have every right to consider a charge toward a top-eight finish a very feasible possibility.

The win marked the first time the side, in the top flight for three years running now, had ever won its EPL opener.

“I spent all week telling the players to believe in themselves and be confident coming into this game because they had no reason not to be,"

The new manager wants his team to play attractive football, and his team formation to start Saturday's match—a 4-2-1-3 formation with plucky Irish striker Shane Long up top, and the midfield anchored by Youssouf Mulumbu (both of whom were fantastic against the Reds)—showed certain vestigial imprints of Hodgson's tenure, while integrating some sublime passing movements Clarke is sure to have worked on this preseason.

Mulumbu was excellent in central midfield for Albion. Michael Regan/Getty Images

Mulumbu was terrific in a holding midfield role, and while Albion were subjugated to an attacking deluge from Liverpool in the first half—Luis Suarez ran riot for the first 45 minutesthey never broke

Everton Preview

Kevin Sheedy returned to the football consciousness this week, with the sad news the former Everton midfielder has been diagnosed with bowel cancer.

Sheedy's plight reminds us that life is unpredictable and sickness indiscriminate. It also reminds us just how fine and imaginative a footballer he was, and how much those who knew his talent miss watching his left foot paint pictures on the pitch.

Sheedy played the game you wanted to on the playground. He could pick a pass, beat a player and finish—and do it all with style. He was also a masterful free-kick specialist—able to opt for the subtle or savage, and capable of putting the ball anywhere he wanted to.

English Premier League 2012 Preview: Wigan Athletic vs Stoke City Predictions

Stoke City will look to bring the noise against Wigan Athletic.

Wigan Athletic Preview

After watching the opening day match against Chelsea, it is clear that no matter who Wigan is playing, they seem bound and determined to deliver the most exciting matches of the Premier League season.

Even if their crowd could be confused for the guest list at a funeral parlor, Wigan play an attacking style of football that no one else is currently brave enough to attempt in the EPL.

Roberto Martinez has his 3-4-3 system implemented well already this season. It has its ups and certainly its downsides, as the Chelsea match showed in full.

Within the opening seven minutes, the Blues were already two goals to the good after Eden Hazard had run fellow debutant Ivan Ramis into a tizzy.

But after Frank Lampard’s penalty, Wigan began to settle down and boss the match. Part of this was due to Chelsea beginning to back off, but at least part of it had to do with Wigan’s concept of attacking play.

Stoke City Preview

Debutant Michael Kightly opened the scoring on 35 minutes after some poor goalkeeping from Adam Federici saw his deflected shot squirm through the Australian's hands and came out with a 1-1 draw against Reading

Stoke dominated for large periods of the game, but when the lively Garath McCleary was clumsily brought down by Dean Whitehead, who was sent off for the challenge, Adam Le Fondre coolly slotted home his first Premier League goal to snatch an unlikely point for the Royals a minute from time. Stoke were keen to build on their one-goal cushion as they pressed on, and Walters went close again. Begovic had launched a free kick far up the field, and after receiving a flick on, the former Ipswich striker fired from a tight angle, but this time Federici was equal to it.

Wigan Athletic vs Stoke City Predictions: Stoke City 2-1 over Wigan Athletic

Stoke City will have an advantage in the sense of their disciplined defense. I see this being close but, Stoke City pulling this one out.

English Premier League 2012 Preview: Manchester City vs Queens Park Rangers Predictions

Queens Park will look to see if they can bounce back from their defeat last week let's see what Manchester City will have to say about that.

Manchester City Preview

Manchester City's engine room has been imperious for the club for the last two seasons, and this year isn't likely to be any different. The defensive midfielder's ball distribution will be important if City are to release their more attacking players, and his ability to break up play is vital to preventing QPR from even creating chances.

A patchy display by Joleon Lescott against Southampton last weekend will have to be improved upon if Manchester City are to be confident of their chances against Liverpool. Lescott has formed one of the soundest centre-back partnerships in the league with Vincent Kompany, and the 30-year-old's understanding with his defensive partner is an integral part of City's success.

Queens Park Rangers Preview

The Rangers have several veteran players capable of filling the traditional striking role. Djibril Cisse, Bobby Zamora and Andy Johnson will all see time in a position that they know extremely well.

Surrounding the strikers, Junior Hoilett and Park Ji-Sung's versatility will greatly benefit the team. Both players can play on the wing or sit in behind the strikers and pressure the opposing team's centre-backs.

Out of the wing, the team will be looking to Adel Taarabt to have a strong season, and to Jamie Mackie to turn in quality performances.

Mark Hughes has several talented attackers, who excel at exposing different parts of team's defense. This will give the ability to tailor his lineups for each opponent, and he will always have a substitute ready to make an impact.

Manchester City vs Queens Park Rangers Predictions: Manchester City 3-0 QPR

Man City is the obvious favorite, but QPR has been proven as resilient prey. Man City can win this as easy as it can get, though in the off-chance QPR might surprise everyone. However, it’s just a surprise – probabilities aren’t based on unexpected outcomes.

English Premier League 2012 Preview: Liverpool vs Arsenal Predictions

Look for Liverpool to bounce back from their last week's loss and put a lot of pressure on Arsenal this week.

Liverpool Preview

Despite huge levels of preseason expectation and hope, Brendan Rodgers and Liverpool FC's season has begun in the worst way possible after West Brom inflicted a 3-0 defeat upon the Reds in the opening game of the season.

Going into the game the ex-Swansea boss would have wanted a minimum of a draw to start his campaign in earnest. However, lethargic play, naive player selection and an opponent who did not read the script all combined to leave Rodgers and Liverpool under severe pressure right from the off and facing a huge uphill battle to finish in the top six come May.

The result—Liverpool's worst opening day defeat since 1937, a 6-1 defeat to Chelsea—came thanks to defensive errors through undisciplined marking, lackadaisical play across midfield and defence, questionable team selection from Rodgers and poor finishing from Luis Suarez.

Arsenal Preview

So often the metronome in midfield for Arsenal last season, Mikel Arteta was strangely silent on Saturday.

That has to do in part with the ubiquitous display from Cazorla, who ran this way and that—particularly during the first half, when the former Malaga man was positively sublime.

Whether or not that affected Arteta's own contribution to the game is difficult to say, but like Diaby, Arteta will need to rediscover his ability to impact games in the coming weeks.

Liverpool—Arsenal's next opponent—are likely to adopt the defensive approach employed by Sunderland. Should the Gunners hope to crack those hardy opponents, they'll need far better play from their other two central midfielders.

Liverpool vs Arsenal Predictions: Liverpool 2-1 over Arsenal

This time we will see Liverpool bounce back and play a livelier game against Arsenal. I see them controlling more of the tempo in this one.

English Premier League 2012 Preview: Newcastle United vs Aston Villa Predictions

Newcastle comes into this match against Aston Villa on a high note. Let's see if they can dominate them from the start.

Newcastle United Preview

Should Newcastle be happy with a draw? Absolutely. But I have to say, I thoroughly enjoyed the club's return to European football, considering it was a reasonably flat 1-1 draw

The purpose of this game was nullification, not dominance. The best result they could have achieved was to balance removing Atromitos's home advantage with arriving in London with all guns loaded.

While a draw isn't an ideal result, the away goal gives United a clear advantage. Atromitos keeper Charles Itandje didn't look particularly confident, so there's no reason the English club can't score at home.

Imagine if one or two of the starting XI are used in the return leg. You'd back United to win comfortably and still have enough energy left to be competitive against Aston Villa

Aston Villa Preview

Aston Villa opened their season of promise with a drab 1-0 loss to newly promoted West Ham—not exactly what the doctor ordered.

Some predict Villa will go down this season and this result only lays credence to that theory, yet all signs during the game point to progress made by the claret and blue side.

Two players from Villa's central midfield absolutely ran the game. Forgotten man Fabian Delph recorded 72 successful passes from 78 attempts (94 percent), while Karim El-Ahmadi made 77 from 91 (85 percent).

While few were of cutting edge, the control exercised by these two was Barcelona-esque. Delph was deployed in a quarterback role in front of Ron Vlaar and Ciaran Clark, while El-Ahmadi roamed just in front of him.

English Premier League 2012 Preview: Southampton vs Manchester United Predictions

Southampton and Manchester United will look to slug it out next Saturday in the English Premier League.

Southampton Preview

Jos Hooiveld insists Saints will improve with every top-flight game they play following their 2-0 defeat to Wigan this afternoon.

Southampton dominated the opening stages but fell foul to two clinical Latics finishes in what was a disappointing second half.

And defender Hooiveld says the squad will take plenty of lessons out of the way in which they were beaten in the first top-flight game at St Mary's since 2005.

"You think you're in control of the game, then one break and it's a goal," he told Saints players.

"That is something we have to be very careful of and concentrate about. As a unit, we have to make progress on that.

"Technically we didn't do enough. We were very sloppy in ball possession sometimes - we lost the ball a lot in ways that we shouldn't have, and that cost us the game.

"I hit the crossbar, so it would have been great if that was 10cm lower. We have to tighten the screws a little bit on those little things.

"This is the kind of club that doesn't panic easily, so it's a process," he continued.

Manchester United Preview

In a tense but thrilling encounter at Old Trafford, Manchester United ran out 3-2 winners over a spirited Fulham side.

Coming off the back of a disappointing defeat at the hands of Everton on Monday, a positive result was needed for the Red Devils.

An early Damien Duff strike and a Nemanja Vidic own goal had United fans biting their fingernails at certain points in the game, but goals from new signings Robin van Persie and Shinji Kagawa, as well as from Brazilian full-back Rafael, were enough to secure a valuable first win of the season for Sir Alex Ferguson's side.

Southampton vs Manchester United Predictions: Manchester United 2-1 Over Southhampton

This will be the game to watch this week. Manchester will come out as their standard selves with their high octane attack. Southhampton will have something to say and come in on a high not of their own. Unfortunately, there can be only one winner and Man U takes it.

Spanish La Liga 2012 Preview: Celta de Vigo vs Osasuna Predictions

Let's see if club Celta De Vigo can bounce back from their home opener loss. This will be a thriller.

Celta de Vigo Preview

Celta lost their home opener against Malaga in a 1-0 defeat . Celta has a good sound balance scoring attack and has shown they are solid on defense. Celta could have been ahead on the half-hour mark when defender Javi Tunez was presented with an unmarked header inside the box, but he put his effort wide.

The hosts came within inches of taking the lead less than 10 minutes into the second half when Qunique de Luca struck the woodwork after a quick break.

Malaga responded by coming just as close with 15 minutes left, this time Isco firing a powerful shot that came back off the upright.

The deadlock was finally broken seven minutes from time as Diego Buonanotte crossed the ball into the danger area and substitute Fabrice bundled the ball home, making him the youngest scorer in La Liga history.

Celta were desperately unlucky not to grab an equaliser in the last minute on Gustavo Cabralheader once again rebounded off the woodwork.

Osasuna Preview

The hosts made a nice loan signing when they brought in Anthony Annan, but he is unlikely to feature against Lionel Messi and company.

Raul Garcia, one of the heroes from last season's upset, has returned to Atletico after completing his loan, and Javad Nekounam has also moved on.

The midfield will be significantly weaker without both players.

Here are the projected starters: : Fernandez; Bertran, Flano, Arribas, Damia; Cejudo, Punal, Sisi, Loe, Etxarri; Nino

Celta de Vigo vs Osasuna Predictions: Celta De Vigo 1-0 over Osasuna

Spanish La Liga 2012 Preview: Real Zaragoza vs Malaga Predictions

Can Malaga be the team team we expect them to be? We'll see as they match up against Real Zaragoza.

Real Zaragoza Preview

Real Zargoza was stunned 1-0 by Newly promoted Real Valladolid at La Romareda. Midfielder Oscar, who spent four years with Zaragoza before joining Olympiacos in 2008, was the match-winner, scoring towards the end of the first half to earn the visitors the three points.

They could even afford to miss a second half penalty, with Victor Perez Alonso missing the target.

The hosts survived the drop by just two points last season and look like they could be in for a similarly tough campaign after failing to create many chances.

Neither side imposed themselves on the game early on with Helder Postiga's tame 15th-minute effort the first on target, easily saved by Jaime, with the goalkeeper denying Apono two minutes later.

Oscar had the visitors' best chance of the early stages but from 12 yards out shot over.

The visitors were in the ascendancy and should have taken the lead after 35 minutes but Javi Guerra's volley from six yards went wide of the left post.

Malaga Preview

Malaga could be in a position to truly turn Spanish football into a top three competition, rather than just a top two. It would be a great move if Malaga could really have an effect on the dynamics of the league over the next few years and force the issue of another genuine big team.

Those aspirations may be a little further into the future. But what is certain is that Malaga have the ability and ambition to compete.

Above all, it will be about being smart and consistent. Malaga's 1-1 draw against Real Madrid toward the end of last season might have been a victory to them on a much smaller scale. But there is a platform now for them to make a much bigger impression on Spanish football.

Real Zaragoza vs Malaga Predictions: Real Zaragoza 1-0 Malaga

Malaga has the team to really excel in the new season. I see them totally dominating this game from start to finish. They have shown what they can do against the bigger teams I know that they will show out against Real Zaragoza

Spanish La Liga 2012 Preview: Deportivo La Coruna vs Getafe Predictions

Deportivo La Coruna is coming off of a positive win after they cruised to an easy victory over Sevilla.

Deportivo La Coruna Preview

La Coruna won on return to La Liga Riki and Nelson Oliveira helped Deportivo la Coruna celebrate their return to La Liga in style with a 2-0 home win over Osasuna in their opening game of the new season. Deportivo coach Jose Luis Oltra believes attack will be his side's best form of defense and insists he and his players will not be overawed when playing away from home this season.

He told Marca: "We are not going to give up the three points at any ground, or against any rival."

"We have to compete well, adapt ourselves to the game and go there convinced that we can win.

"To take a point in the Mestalla you have to score at least a goal and to win, at least two.

"If this is my thinking I can't say to my players that we are going to defend, although it is another thing to say we have to start with the defensive work collectively."

Getafe Preview

Getafe are also looking to improve after a 2-1 loss to Sevilla in their La Liga opener, and Garcia knows they will have to do much better if they are to shut out their local rivals on Sunday.

"What I care about is my team, demonstrating that desire, that hope, that faith and that enjoyment of playing against the big teams," he told a press conference.

"We will try not to change things too much. We will try to be a strong team and aggressive.

"No one expects us to win, but we will try to beat Real Madrid. It won't make much difference to the standings but we want to win it for the team and for our fans.

"We will face one of the two best teams in the world and these things require a lot of concentration. To win we have to put on a performance and we can do that.

"I don't think the Supercopa will affect them but they will be on the alert after the draw with Valencia, because to win the league you have to be close to 100 points and if you lose one, you don't get it back."

Deportivo La Coruna vs Getafe Predictions: 1-1 Draw

Both teams needs this win unfortunately these teams are so evenly matched from the offense and defensive stand point. This game will be a draw.

Spanish La Liga 2012 Preview: Mallorca vs Real Sociedad Predictions

Check out a thriller as Mallorca and Real Sociedad will square up this weekend in La Liga.

Mallorca Preview

Teenage substitute Juanmi rescued a point for Malaga as they drew with Real Mallorca.

The forward had only been on the pitch for nine minutes before he cancelled out Tomer Hemed's 67th-minute strike.

Both sides went into the match in good form, with Malaga winning their La Liga opener against Celta Vigo before beating Panathinaikos in their Champions League play-off encounter, while Mallorca had registered victories over Espanyol in the league and AZ in the Europa League play-off.

However they cancelled each other out in what was largely dull affair at La Rosaleda.

The visitors had the first effort on goal as Javi Marquez forced a decent save from Willy Caballero in the home goal.

Five minutes later the hosts should have taken the lead but Seba Fernandez headed Duda's corner wide from six yards.

After a slow start to the second period Mallorca slowly began to take control and took the lead.

Emilio Nsue rampaged down the right before standing a cross up perfectly to the onrushing Hemed, who placed a header into the top corner, giving Caballero no chance.

That prompted boss Manuel Pellegrini to bring on Juanmi for Fernandez and the 19-year-old scored with almost his first touch from 12 yards.

There was late drama as Malaga's Eliseu was sent off in the 89th minute after seeming to strike Tomas Pina as the two challenged for a loose ball.

Real Sociedad Preview

Real Sociedad 2-1 Celta Vigo Imanol Agirretxe scored twice as Real Sociedad came from behind to secure their first three points of the season against Celta Vigo.

Kike de Lucas had given Celta the lead against the run of play four minutes into the second half but a fine jinking run from Antoine Griezmann set up Agirretxe to bring the Basques level just five minutes later.

The comeback was complete on the hour mark as Carlos Vela crossed for Agirretxe to prod home.

The hosts had by far the better of the opening period and could count themselves very unlucky not to be ahead at the break as they hit the woodwork three times.

Agirretxe was the first to trouble the frame of the goal as his header from Vela's corner came off the inside of the post and from the rebound Ion Ansotegi somehow smashed the ball off the bar with the goal at his mercy.

Sociedad continued to threaten and nice move just after the half-hour ought to have brought the opener as Vela put Griezmann through on goal but the Frenchman's casual finish came off the post.

Celta started the second period with more attacking intent and should have been ahead within three minutes of the restart as Iago Aspas shot straight at Claudio Bravo from six yards.

However, the striker made amends for his miss within a minute as he unselfishly teed up De Lucas to fire in Celta's first goal in La Liga for five years.

The lead lasted only five minutes though as Griezmann showed great skill and timed his pass to perfection to free Agirretxe inside the area and the big striker made no mistake with a powerful finish.

Mallorca vs Real Sociedad Predictions: Mallorca 2-1 over Real Sociedad

Mallorca comes into this match on a positive note but, I really see Mallorca being a force in the La Liga .That said, Real Sociedad they are sound but I don’t believe they have the caliber of team to over throw Mallorca.

Spanish La Liga 2012 Preview: Rayo Vallencano vs Sevilla Predictions

Lets see if Sevilla can remain dominate over Rayo Vallecano in their second meeting since May.

Rayo Vallencano Preview

Leo Baptistao scored his first senior goal for Rayo Vallecano as they continued their 100% start to the season with a 2-1 win at Real Betis.

The visitors went ahead within two minutes as Leo's cross was tapped home by Piti, but Betis responded immediately and Jorge Molina headed in his third goal of the campaign moments later.

However, despite withstanding an early Betis onslaught at the beginning of the second period, Rayo looked the more coordinated team throughout and deservedly got the winner on the hour mark when Lass Bangoura teed up Leo to rifle low past Fabricio in the Betis goal.

Both sides had got their campaign off to the perfect starts with wins in week one and both started quickly in this game too, with two goals arriving in the first four minutes.

Firstly, Leo burst down the left and after Fabricio failed to cut out his excellent ball into the middle Piti rolled the ball into the empty net.

Two minutes later though Betis were level when Benat's free-kick found Molina and his deflected effort looped over the helpless Ruben Martinez.

The end-to-end action continued shortly after as Piti's excellent strike from outside the box came off the bar before Benat headed against the bar from Juan Carlos' cross.

Sevilla Preview

Sevilla opened their Primera Division season with a deserved 2-1 over Getafe win in an occasionally scrappy game at the Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan.

Goals by Federico Fazio and Alvaro Negredo, the latter from a disputed penalty, within five first-half minutes ultimately proved enough for the hosts.

Alexis, playing against the team from whom he is on loan, headed Getafe back into the game early in the second half but they could not find an equaliser and it was Sevilla who looked more likely to score again, with Ivan Rakitic hitting the crossbar.

The first clear sight of goal did not arrive until 15 minutes in, when Diego Lopez comfortably blocked away Miku's shot. Pedro Leon's corner was headed wide by Miku.

Defender David Abraham, still forward following another corner as the visitors enjoyed a spell of pressure, was unable to stretch far enough to steer an acrobatic effort on goal.

Sevilla's clearest chance to date, just after the half-hour mark, went begging when Rakitic and the better-placed Negredo both went for Jesus Navas' low cross and got in each other's way.

But they were ahead just two minutes later when Rakitic's corner was cleared back to him and the Croatian's second cross was glanced home by giant defender Fazio.

Rayo Vallencano vs Sevilla Predictions: Sevilla 2-1 over Rayo Vallecano

The last time these 2 matched up was in May when Sevilla took it with ease 5-2. I see it being the same result with Sevilla dominating this match from start to finish

Spanish La Liga 2012 Preview: Athletic Bilbao vs Valladolid Predictions

Can Athletic Bilbao hold on to the lead in this match against Valladolid?. Let's see when they go head to head this weekend.

Athletic Bilbao Preview

We know know the Athletic Bibao can put points on the board. The only problem is they can give up some easy points as well. Real Betis recovered from squandering a 3-0 half-time lead to seal all three points in a 5-3 victory over Athletic Bilbao at San Mames thanks to two goals from Jorge Molina and others from Ruben Castro, Benat Extebarria and Alex Pozuelo.

The visitors had flown into a 3-0 lead after just half an hour thanks to calm finishes from Castro and Molina were followed up by a wonderful strike by Benat.

But it was Athletic who stormed out of the traps after half-time when Oscar de Marcos reduced the arrears within 60 seconds of the restart.

Mikel San Jose then twice headed home from corners to bring the Basque side level but Betis were back in front four minutes later as substitutes Jose Canas and Pozuelo combined to allow the latter to slot home.

And with the Athletic defence all at sea, another fine counter-attack from the visitors saw Jonathan Pereira release Molina to seal the points with a delicate chip over Gorka Iraizoz.

With Javi Martinez and Fernando Llorente looking set to leave Athletic before the end of the month, both Spanish internationals were left out by Marcelo Bielsa and their presence was missed as Betis soaked up Athletic's dominance in possession and broke with ease in the first period.

Valladolid Preview

Olympiacos in 2008, was the match-winner, scoring towards the end of the first half to earn the visitors the three points.

However Valladolid were not to be denied and broke through with seconds of the first half remaining as Omar Ramos played in Oscar who stroked the ball home from six yards.

Realising his team needed to show a lot more creativity in the second period, Zaragoza coach Manolo Jimenez brought on Jose Mari for Romaric at the break.

Athletic Bilbao vs Valladolid Predictions: Athletic Bilbao 2-1 over Valladolid

Bilbao high octane offense might be just too much to handle for Valladolid. Im sure the that loss put a bitter taste in their mouths and we’ll see a much better match against Valladolid.

Spanish La Liga 2012 Preview: Levante vs Espanyol Predictions

Levante looks to continue their dominance in their next match against Espanyol.

Levante Preview

Levante makes an example out of Motherwell defeats them 2-0. Levante, who finished sixth in La Liga last season after briefly topping the table in late October, pushed Motherwell back in the first half but they were gifted a 42nd-minute opener as Juanlu ran from deep to net as the home defence waited for an offside flag.

Motherwell improved significantly and Henrik Ojamaa had two good chances but the visitors carved out a second for substitute Nabil El Zhar in the 62nd minute and killed the game off before Hutchinson was dismissed for a last-man challenge.

Levante were making their European debut without Senegal midfielder Pape Diop, who was unable to secure a visa to enter the UK.

But they retained a very experienced and solid core, pinned together by central defenders David Navarro, formerly of Valencia, and their captain, 36-year-old Sergio Ballesteros.

Motherwell manager Stuart McCall had spoken of employing an "up and at 'em'' approach after Motherwell had their fair share of possession against Panathinaikos but lost 5-0 on aggregate to more clinical opponents.

There were more high balls than usual in the first half towards Michael Higdon, however Levante's two powerful centre-backs were helped out by the even more imposing figure of midfield anchor man Vicente Iborra as they snuffed out the threat.

Espanyol Preview

Helder Postiga left it late to earn Real Zaragoza a first win of the Primera Division season, sinking 10-man Espanyol 2-1 at the El Prat.

In a bad-tempered encounter which saw eight players booked, Alvaro Vazquez lit the touchpaper by firing the hosts ahead with a screamer just before half-time.

Juan Albin received his marching orders for a second booking after the interval and Antonio Apono levelled the tie from the penalty spot.

A constant menace in the second half, Postiga chipped away at Espanyol's resolve and eventually got his reward two minutes from time to earn Real their first points of the season.

Despite a cagey start, Raul Rodriguez almost opened the scoring in the 17th minute with a header that required a touch more accuracy.

Albin then picked out Hector Moreno in good space in the 34th minute but the Mexican headed past the near post.

Moreno headed over the crossbar next as Espanyol pressed on, with the breakthrough coming in sensational fashion in the 43rd minute.

Mubarak Wakaso picked out Vazquez's run, the young striker drilling home from 20 yards without breaking stride.

Following the restart, Portugal international Postiga forced Cristian Alvarez to tip a daisycutter around the post before Los Blanquillos were handed the opportunity to level.

Albin, already booked for a challenge.

Levante vs Espanyol Predictions: Levante 2-1 over Espanyol

Combination of great offensive attack by Levante and depleted Espanyol team makes this an easy win for Levante.

Spanish La Liga 2012 Preview: Real Madrid vs Granada CF Predictions

Real Madrid will look to avenge their recent loss and will look to take it out against Grenada.

Real Madrid Preview

Madrid had won their last seven league meetings against Getafe and appeared set for another triumph when Gonzalo Higuain put them ahead in the 27th minute.

However, Getafe hit back in the second half to stun their star-studded opponents with goals from Juan Valera and Abdelaziz Barrada.

That completed a forgettable first week to the new campaign for Jose Mourinho's side, who started their title defence with a 1-1 home draw against Valencia last weekend before losing 3-2 to arch rivals Barcelona in the first leg of the Spanish Supercopa on Thursday.

Barca earlier tonight battled back from a half-time deficit to beat Osasuna 2-1 away but precisely the opposite happened to Madrid at the Coliseum Alfonso Perez and they now find themselves five points adrift of the leading sides in La Liga.

Few of the divisions big guns relish going to Getafe, who last season beat Barca, Valencia, Sevilla and Atletico Madrid at home, but Real have dominated their neighbours in recent years and looked on course for another victory midway through tonight's game.

Mourinho's men really have should have taken the lead in the 16th minute but Mesut Ozil somehow contrived to miss an open goal from five yards out.

Granada CF Preview

Sevilla came from behind with 10-men to claim a valuable point from the first Andalusian derby of the season - a 1-1 draw at Granada.

The visitors had goalkeeper Diego Lopez sent off just after the half-hour mark when he upended Antonio Floro Flores inside the area and, despite his replacement Andres Palop saving Guillherme Siqueira's penalty, Mikel Rico rattled in the rebound to give Granada the lead.

However, Alvaro Negredo headed home a minute before the break to bring Sevilla level and Michel's side defended relatively comfortably in the second half until a late flurry from the hosts saw Darwin Marchis head two golden opportunities over and Floro Flores hit the crossbar.

After a bright opening by both sides the turning point appeared to have arrived on 34 minutes when Floro Flores was played through on goal and was brought down by Lopez as he tried to round him.

The Italian striker certainly exaggerated the contact as he flopped to the ground, but there was contact and Lopez had to see red having denied a clear goalscoring opportunity.

Palop made a smart save to his right to repel Siqueira's powerful spot-kick but his defence didn't react and Rico was left free to fire in the rebound.

Real Madrid will look to wipe that bitter taste out of their mouths and taking it out on Grenada. This will be real offensive display by Madrid.

Spanish La Liga 2012 Preview: Barcelona vs Valencia Predictions

Will Messi go ballistic over a weaker Valencia team? We'll find out Saturday in La Liga.

Barcelona Preview

Lionel Messi scored twice in the last 15 minutes as Barcelona survived a scare against ten-man Osasuna to continue their winning start to the new season.

Osasuna beat Barcelona 3-2 in last season's corresponding fixture and the Catalan giants looked in danger of suffering another upset when Joseba Llorente volleyed the home side in front in the 17th minute tonight.

Striker Nino then had a great chance to double Osasuna's lead in the 70th minute, but he hit the post when clean through and 10 minutes later Barca were ahead and on their way to three points.

Messi, as has often been the case, was the spark behind the comeback, and he drew the teams level in the 75th minute when he stabbed home Alexis Sanchez's pass to finish off a move he himself had started with a trademark darting run.

Osasuna were aggrieved that goal was allowed to stand after Alexis had appeared to be offside when he received the ball earlier in the move, and the home side's veteran midfielder Patxi Punal was handed his marching orders for taking his protests too far.

Barca quickly made the most of their man advantage as, in the 80th minute, summer signing Jordi Alba picked out Messi near the edge of the area and the Argentina superstar rolled a low shot into the far corner for the match-winner.

The victory sees Barca move onto six points after two games in La Liga, while they also won the first leg of the Spanish Supercopa against Real Madrid on Thursday.

Valencia Preview

Deportivo La Coruna came from two goals down to claim a point in a thrilling 3-3 draw at the Mestalla.

Roberto Soldado had fired Valencia into an early 2-0 lead as he was twice brilliantly set up by Jonas, but Depor halved the deficit when Abel Aguilar bundled home from a corner seven minutes before half-time.

Sofiane Feghouli restored the hosts' two-goal lead before half-time with another wonderful finish from Dani Parejo's pass.

However, the visitors had much the better of the play after the break and after Aguilar had stroked home his second of the night, Pizzi equalised from the penalty spot as Ricardo Costa saw a second yellow card for barging into Riki.

Depor announced their return to the Primera Division with a 2-0 win over Osasuna on Monday night, but it was the hosts who seemed destined to get their first win on the board after some scintillating football saw them score twice in the first 28 minutes.

Spanish La Liga 2012 Preview: Real Betis vs Atletico Madrid Predictions

Real Betis and Atletico Madrid will go head to head in this classic match up.

Real Betis Preview

Two minutes later though Betis were level when Benat's free-kick found Molina and his deflected effort looped over the helpless Ruben Martinez.

Atletico Madrid Preview

The hosts struck first when El Zhar stroked home from the edge of the area after just five minutes but brought Atleti level 15 minutes later with a stunning strike from distance that gave Gustavo Munua no chance.

The visitors then went on to dominate possession but lacked a cutting edge and it was Levante who came closest to a winner when Vicente Iborra's long-range effort came back off the top of the bar.

Levante were last season's surprise package, finishing sixth - their highest placing in Spanish football's top league.

And they started this campaign in enterprising fashion.

Jose Barkero's corner was cleared by Miranda but only as far as El Zhar - and the former Liverpool winger smashed the ball home to register his first goal for Los Granotes.

Atleti though responded well and after a sustained period of possession Arda made space for himself 25 yards from goal and arrowed the ball high into net.

Thereafter Atletico maintained possession for the majority of the half but it was Levante who came closest to scoring again as Iborra's piledriver from fully 30 yards rattled the top of the crossbar.

Real Betis vs Atletico Madrid Predictions: Draw 1-1

If you’re watching this one .. Guarantee you’ll fall asleep before its over with. Both teams do not bring anything impressive to the table. This will be a slow pace match.

Let's see if West Ham can recover from their lost last week when they play Norwich City in this weeks Premier League action.

Norwich City Preview

Norwich fans can be happy after pulling out a 1-1 draw with QPR. This was a much improved performance for Norwich City.

Every match performance has its good and its bad, but there was a lot more positive than negative for Norwich, which can give fans hope that it it will not be a season of struggle.

On a positive note about the tie, was full backs usually are good but, in this particular match they looked superb.

West Ham United Preview

Coming off of 3-0 win over Fulham is definitely a confident booster after falling to Swansea City 3-0 2 weeks ago. Though West Ham has suffered a major blow in losing star studded Andy Carroll for 6 weeks can really put a hamper on what West Ham is trying to accomplish. They’ll just have to carry on and move forward and hopefully pick up a good signee to replace Carroll.

Norwich City vs West Ham United Predictions: 2-3

West Ham comes into this match on a positive note after making an example of Fulham beating them 3-0 last week. Norwich will put up a fight in this one but, in the end Norwich doesnt match West Ham's offensive power.

English Premier League 2012 Preview: Arsenal vs Southampton Predictions

Southhampton will seek to avenge their last week loss to Wigan and take it out on Arsenal in this weeks English Premier match up.

Arsenal Preview

Arsenal rained on Liverpool’s parade after beating them 2-0 at their home giving Liverpool their worst start of the season in years. Santi Cazorla continues to look to be the bright spot for Arsenal and mid fielder Abou Diaby flourishing in place of Nuri Sahinl, Arsenal looks like a team to reckon with in the English Premier League.

Scoring for Arsenal was a breath of fresh air after going scoreless their 1st 3 games.

It was after Cazorla’s shot that was saved by Reina was the ice breaker in Arsenal ending their scoreless streak for the campaign.

Southampton Preview

It was a showdown for the visiting Wigan who went into Southampton and took a 2-0 victory. Southampton could never really get into this match allowing Wigan to capitalize on their lethargic play.

It was a scoreless first half, Until Wigan struck and wasting little time with their offensive attack on the game. Shaun Maloney became alive and was the playmaker teaming up with Franco Di Santo who then turned and fired a heat missle into the net against a banged Kelvin Davis who sacrificed his side to stay in front.

Southampton was left chasing Wigan from behind in this match looking completely worn out through this match.

Arsenal vs Southampton Predictions: 2-3

Southampton came off of a tough loss last week losing to Manchester United on a remarkable hat trick pulled off by Robin Van Persie. Here is the kicker in this game Arsenal is not Manchester United. Southampton will unleash their frustration on a much weaker Arsenal team that doesn’t stack up offensive or defensive wise to Southampton.

English Premier League 2012 Preview: Aston Villa vs Swansea City Predictions

Can Aston Villa continue their tear? We'll see when they face Swansea City in the English Premier League

Aston Villa Preview

A loss to Everton 1-3 and a tie 1-1 to Newcastle leave Aston Villa towards the bottom of the list in the EPL standing. Skipper Paul Lambert has a big task on his hands and knows it will take a team effort to pull themselves out of this hole. One of Villas biggest problems is that they have a mix of young talent and a combination of a couple world-class players who have proven PL ability.

Swansea City Preview

Swansea City sits at an impressive 2nd place in the EPL. After coming off impressive wins over West Ham 3-0 and Barnsley 3-1. Swansea continues to show that they do not lack firepower from the offensive side and look every bit of impressive on defense. Though there is one setback from the defense and that is Neil Taylor will miss the season with a severe broken ankle.

Aston Villa vs Swansea City Predictions: 2-1

Aston Villa just came off of a fresh 1-1 draw last week against Newcastle United. Thanks to the help of Ben Arfa who bailed Newcastle with a amazing goal as Aston Villa saw a victory taken before their eyes . They have Swansea this week I believe this will be a great and close match but, with the home crowd behind Aston Villa and the bitter loss from last week they will squeak a victory.

English Premier League 2012 Preview: Fulham vs W.B.A Predictions

Will Fulham bounce back from their loss last week? Let's see if West Brom has anything to say about that.

Fulham Preview

Fulham is not in the best spirits after a disappointing loss 2-3 to Manchester United and suffered a beating from West Ham United losing 3-0. On a positive note they can take their loss in stride against Manchester U. Fulham could not get it going against West Ham leaving them in disarray and scoreless.

W.B.A Preview

High octane West Brom had a close call after closing out a tough victory 4-2 over Yeovil in a clash at the Capital One Cup.

West Brom’s two scores came from mid fielder Shane Long and a goal each from Chris Brunt and Craig Dawson. It’s no puzzle that West Brom can score with the best of them also earlier this week WBA pulled off an impressive 2-0 win over Everton getting goals by stud striker Shane Long and Gareth McAuley. West Brom did the honors by ending Everton's 11-match winning streak in the Premier League.

Fulham vs W.B.A Predictions: 2-3

West Brom packs a nice offensive punch that will be more than Fulham can handle though it won’t be a push over West Brom will walk away with this match.

English Premier League 2012 Preview: Manchester United vs Wigan Athletic Predictions

Check out the clash of the titans when Manchester United go head up with Wigan Athletic this week in the English Premier League.

Manchester United Preview

We knew that Robin van Persie's move from Arsenal to Manchester United would pay off in a big way pulling off a hat trick Manchester 2-3 over Southampton.

Scoring in just what RVP does.

The addition of van Persie just added more fuel to the fire United already loaded with talent still has super stud striker in Wayne Rooney through whom their offense generates.

At the end of the day United is still United and will be their when it’s all said and done.

Wigan Athletic Preview

Wigan Athletic wasted no time in the first half. Scoring 3 of their 4 goals coming off of a 4-1 victory over Nottingham. Nottingham Forest got a quick score right after the break and had a one man up advantage for the last 22 minutes following a red card that was given to Wigan’s centre back Antol*n Alcaraz.

Manchester United vs Wigan Athletic Predictions: 3-0

Man U’s Robin van Persie 3 goal hat-trick gave Manchester United not only the 3-2 win over Southampton but gave skipper Sir Alex Ferguson's 1000th league game as a manager. Here is the scary thing about this game super striker Robin Van Persie can have the same type of game against Wigan Athletic. Let's face it Manchester United just has way to much firepower for a lot of teams in the Premier League.

English Premier League 2012 Preview: Stoke City vs Manchester City Predictions

Manchester City will look to dominate once again but, will Stoke City have something to say about it.

Stoke City Preview

Stoke City is looking every bit of unimpressive at home with recent draws to Arsenal (0-0) and Wigan (2-2) also getting a hat trick pulled on them by Swindon’s James Collins in non league. Stoke City needs all the help that they can get. Recently, acquired 32 year old striker Michael Owens, who was released by Manchester United last season. Owens looks to help a struggling Stoke City offense scored 5 goals in 31 appearances for Manchester back in 2009.

Manchester City Preview

Manchester City came off of a 3-1(H) thrashing of QPR last weekend and draw 2-2(A) against Liverpool. Scoring machine Mario Balotelli will sit this game out and be out 10 days for eye surgery due to the wear of contact lenses. Never the less Manchester City still sits in 4th place in the Barclays and will continue to be one of the elites in the league.

Stoke City vs Manchester City Predictions: 1-2

Manchester City made easy work out of QPR 3-1 with goals by their talented young core of strikers Yaya Tour, Edin Dzecko and stand out Carlos Teves. Though they will be without the services of Balotelli, Manchester lead behind the big 3 will be enough to dispose Stoke City. The fact of the matter is Stoke City doesn’t match well with the speed of Manchester City's mid fielders thus making it difficult to beat the visiting Manchester City team.

English Premier League 2012 Preview: Reading vs Tottenham Hotspur Predictions

Reading will look to see if they can continue their offensive tear against Tottenham.

Reading Preview

Reading came off of recent Capital One Cup action by defeating Peterborough 3-1 at home but Reading hasn’t been so hot in Barclay’s play coming off a recent loss 2-4 Chelsea and 1-1 draw against Stoke. Their recent victory saw a glimpse of what their offense should be like as the home crowd witness Reading score 4 quick goals in 7 minutes. Reading knows they can compete in the Premier League they just have to put a couple of matches together and show the world what they are capable of doing on offense.

Tottenham Hotspur Preview

Tottenham is also a team that has fallen into an offensive slumber by coming off of a pair of draws at home to Norwich (1-1) and West Brom (1-1) then losing to Newcastle back on the 18th. The problem is Tottenham is putting together poor 1st halves and causing these equalizers. It’s no wonder by we see Tottenham drifting to the bottom of the standings. It wasn’t looking good for Tottenham until they were saved by Moussa Dembele’s 18 yard strike at the 68 min mark.

Reading vs Tottenham Hotspur Predictions: 0-2

Tottenham will be looking to get off the block and see if they can put some offense together. Their recent equalizers have been anything but impressive for the home crowd. Good thing is they have Reading this week. The Spurs will look to dominate from start to finish their defense is good enough to hold a team like Reading at the end of the day this is money in the bag and chalk up an easy win for Tottenham.

English Premier League 2012 Preview: Queens Park Rangers vs Chelsea Predictions

Let's see if Queens Park can pull off another blow out when they face Chelsea this week in the English Premier League.

Queens Park Rangers Preview

QPR 3 Walsall 0 Thanks to Bobby Zamora’s sweet chippy helped QPR lock in the Capital One Cup third round against Walsall tonight at Loftus Road.

QPR dominated the match avoiding a third straight defeat in the competition to lower league.

QPR struck 1st in the first period then went on to take the the lead when Zamora whose through-ball was placed perfect for Shaun Wright-Phillips to prod home right before the half-hour mark.

QPR were almost pulled back by Walsall as Mid fielder William Grigg topped the bar after the break, but Once again Zamora put the Hoops back on top the with an inspired chip.

Jose Bosingwa also scored on a late goal to wrap things up for QPR, welcomed back Alejandro Faurlin and Kieron Dyer whom both played well and returned from injury.

Chelsea Preview

Chelsea skipper Roberto Di Matteo took a trip down memory lane when asked the last time Chelsea stood at the top of the Barclays Premier League. “It was in November 2010,” the Blues retorted yesterday, in excitement.

The fact that Di Matteo could even remember the date at all was every bit of impressive.

But that date was so long to remember and a reminder of how Chelsea allowed themselves to plunder the last 2 seasons but now find themselves at the top of the standings. Chelsea has put together a 3 win start coming off of victories over Reading (4-2 and Newcastle 2-0)

“We have the opportunity to win. Hopefully, we will continue to play well and reap the reward.”

Queens Park Rangers vs Chelsea Predictions: 0-2

Chelsea was lead by stud striker Eden Hazard whom once again was the standout player in the 2-0 victory over Newcastle. Chelsea will come into this match with the same intensity looking to dominate QPR from start to finish. QPR just doesn’t have the firepower needed to keep up with Chelsea also don’t forget that Chelsea runs a stingy defense.

Getafe comes off of a 1-1(A) equalizer against Deportivo and a win 2-1(H) against Real Madrid on the 26th of August. They will have a big test against Barcelona this week. Getafe’s offense is lead by mid fielder Abdelaziz Barrada who looks to continue provide the offensive punch needed by Getafe. Getafe did look good against Real Madrid especially from the dead balls. Barcelona still remains in 1st in La Liga by topping Valencia 1-0(H) last Sunday and 2-1 victory (A) vs Osasuna. Though some internal problems within the team young mid fielder Cesc Fabregas has expressed his frustrations of not getting the offensive opportunities he’s looking for. On a positive note Messi is still doing his thing providing his offense scoring punch.

Getafe vs Barcelona Predictions: 1-4

Home or Away does it really matter with Barcelona?. Barcelona has arguably the world’s best player in Andres Iniesta so, their unprecedented offense is without glitch and they are very sound on defense. Getafe doesn’t stand a chance even at home.

Last minute substitute Juanmi saved a point for Malaga as they drew 1-1 with Real Mallorca.

The forward had only been on the field for nine minutes before he evened out Tomer Hemed's strike at the 67th minute mark.

Both teams went into the match in great form. Malaga came in winning their Primera Division opener against Celta Vigo also before defeating Panathinaikos in their Champions League play-off encounter also Malaga still on their unbeaten start in the Primera Division season capped off a 1-0 victory at Real Zaragoza with the help of Nacho Camacho's second header.

Levante Preview

Levante pulled off a beautiful 3-2 comeback win against Espanyol and earn their first Primera Division victory of the campaign.

Espanyol looked like they had this one in the bag especially taking a commanding a 2-0 lead inside the opening 25 minutes with the help of their new signings over the summer Samuele Longo and Sergio Tejera.

However, Levante started to fight back at the start of the second half to draw even with quick strike goals from Juanlu and Christian Lell and then, their set back was losing star striker Vicente Iborra to a red card in the 82nd minute, the home team had points taken the points when Michel's cross was deflected in three minutes in stop time.

Malaga vs Levante Predictions: 3-1

Malaga has a couple good things going for them. They are playing in front of their home crowd and 2) they can run up the score in a hurry. Levante is not as quick upfront and so they will have a hard time with Malaga’s midfielders. Look for an easy win for Malaga.

Sevilla Preview

Sevilla comes off of a couple of equalizers against Rayo (A) 0-0 and Granada (A) 1-1 Their only win coming at the start of the season 2-1 against Getafe(H) It’s a surprise with the offensive sputter that we are witnessing from Sevilla Weve seen it in the past with Sevilla putting up 5 goals against Rayo last May and also blanking Real Zargoza 3-0 So, it’s a funk that they are going through Let’s see if we’ll see a different Sevilla team this weekend.

Real Madrid Preview

Real Madrid just came off of a smashing against 3-0 last Sunday at home and an even a more impressive victory over Barcelona 2-1(H) last week. Real Madrid though going through some distractions about their franchise player Ronaldo wanting to leave the team. Ronaldo claimed “It’s professional issues” but ,nothing to want to be traded over or leave the team. Real Madrid still the world class organization that they are sits in the middle of the standing with 1 win,1 loss and 1 draw.

Sevilla vs Real Madrid Predictions: 1-2

Sevilla with the home crowd behind will make this still an interesting match to watch but, I don’t think they have enough to contend with Real Madrid .This though would be the time for them to come out of their offensive funk it just won’t be in this match . Real Madrid will take this one on the road.

Sunderland Preview

Sunderland starts the Premier League with 2 equalisers recently coming from their away match against Swansea City 2-2(A). Swansea totally dominated them with 11 more shots on goal 15(7) to Sunderland’s 4(2). Swansea had 8 corner kicks to Sunderland’s 0 and time of passion was dominated by Swansea as well 64% to Sunderland’s 36%. On a positive note with all that being said their defense was good enough to keep Swansea at bay.

Liverpool Preview

Liverpool comes into this match with a recent loss to Arsenal 2-0(H). Their home fans should be highly disappointed with their play after being blanked. Liverpool dominated the shots on goal 19(4) to Arsenal’s 11(5) and also held the ball longer then their counterparts 53 %( Liverpool) to Arsenal’s 47%. On paper, Liverpool looked like the better team but, in reality it was Arsenal who ran away with the victory. The Reds are in a tremendous scoring slump just being able to come up with 1 score in their last 3 matches. This is a much needed win for them against Sunderland. Liverpool has to get on track here.

Sunderland vs Liverpool Predictions: 1-2

Liverpool will get their long awaited win vs Sunderland. This is the game where they will put their offense to use this season. Liverpool is a much better team then we’ve recently seen. I see them much like their game against Arsenal controlling the tempo of this match.

Valencia Preview

Valencia came off of a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Barcelona (A) last weekend and a 3-3 equaliser against Deportivo (H) the week before. Valencia is going through offensive woes looking to see who’ll step up on offense. In this early season, they have scoring production coming from Roberto Soldado2, Sofian Feghouli 1 and Jonas 1 not much output from Valencia. Against Deportivo, Valencia had a comfortable 2-0 lead only to see it squander and ending in the 3-3 draw. We know there is a much better Valencia team by what we have seen we are just waiting for them to show it.

Celta Vigo Preview

Celta Vigo starts La Liga with a 1-2 record.Recently, with a 2-0 (H) win over the visiting Osasuna thanks to a pair of 2nd half goals from Iago Aspas and Mario Bermejo were enough to give Celta Vigo their 1st victory in the Primera Division in five years.

Valencia vs Celta Vigo Predictions: 3-1

Valencia playing at home and getting on track with the offense we know that they are capable of playing. Valencia packs a superb offense and their defense is up to par. Celta Vigo will be the recipient of this beat down this week end. Celta Vigo flat out doesn’t have the speed to play with Valencia. Look for Valencia to dominate from start to finish.

RCD Espanyol Preview

Tough way for any team to start a season. Espanyol is looking for their 1st win after starting La Liga 0-3 with their losses coming from Levante 2-3(A) last Sunday a home loss to Real Zaragoza 1-2(H) and Mallorca to start their season 1-2(H). Espanyol is really bad and they need to pull this together especially 2 of their matches at home. This doesn’t give the home fans much to write home about. Let’s see if they can put something together against Athletic Bilbao this weekend.

Athletic Bilbao Preview

Bilbao comes off of an impressive 2-0 win over Valladolid at home last Sunday. The most impressive thing about their victory was there defense holding Valladolid to 8 shots on goal to their 16. The host were without once again Fernando Llorente and mid fielder Ander Herrera both out again with strained muscles. But, they could rest as Athletic Bilbao never looked behind in this match.

RCD Espanyol vs Athletic Bilbao Predictions: 1-0

Though I might end up shooting myself in the foot. Im going to make this my pick of the week and say that Espanyol will get their much needed win this week against Athletic Bilbao. They need not only to win get their 1st win but, they need to show their home fans that they are better than what their record shows.

This is a much needed win for Granada .Can they pull this off against Deportivo La Coruna. Catch real time updates on your favorite Spanish La Liga Match.

Granada Preview

Granada came off of a 3-0(A) loss to Real Madrid and 1-1 draw Sevilla (A). A big concern from the Real Madrid game are there to stats 1) Granada’s 7 shots(0) on goal to Real Madrid 22 also their time of possession being 29% to Real Madrid 71% those 2 stats would make any one turn their heads. Unfortunately, Granada will go up against a team that is the same caliber of Real Madrid when they face Deportivo this weekend.

Deportivo La Coruna Preview

Deportivo comes off of a pair of equalizers against Getafe (H) 1-1 and an away draw against Valencia 3-3. Their match was evenly played against Getafe in terms of their time of possession on 58% to Getafe 42% and their shots on goal 10 (5) to Getafe 13(4). This also is a much need win and not only that but, a jump start for La Coruna to get back on track. This is a very good team make no mistake about La Coruna is for real and they are a much better team then they have been showing as of late.

Granada vs Deportivo La Coruna Predictions: 2-1

Granada with the home team behind them will break out of their slump the pressure is on them but, with them playing at home will help them boost their confidence. I see this being a well fought game but, there is nothing like playing at home.

Mallorca will look to keep chasing for the top spot. Will Osasuna get in their way. Catch real time updates on your favorite Spanish La Liga Match.

Osasuna Preview

Osasuna sits at the bottom of the standins with an 0-3 record with a loss to Celta Vigo 1-0(A) , Barcelona 1-2(H) and in their opener against Deportivo 0-2(H). Their shots on goal were held to a minimal 7(4) to Celta Vigo 12(4) but, what really stood out was their fouls 15 to Celta’s 5. Osasuna is really bad they lack scoring and on the defense side of things they are not any better.

Mallorca Preview

Mallorca comes into this game standing in 2nd place undefeated with a 2 and 1 draw record. They came off of a win last Sunday against R Sociedad(H) 1-0 and a draw against Malaga. It took the 75th minute for Mallorca to finally score against the stingy defense of Sociedad. It was a well fought game that could have anyone’s way the time of possession belonged to Sociedad controlling the game 53% to Mallorca’s 47%. Mallorca controlled the shots 15(5) to 11(3) Sociedad. Mallorca’s V*ctor Casadesús scored the only goal of the game with a header in the 75th minute.

Osasuna vs Mallorca Predictions: 1-1

Yes Osasuna will make a game out this playing at home against the 2nd rank team. With their home team behind them this will give them the boost that they certainly need. I see an equalizer coming out of this match not quite the win Osasuna needs but, then again it’s not a loss either.

They also controlled the time of possession having it 53% to Mallorca’s 47%.

These are much needed wins for either teams. They can’t afford to slip anymore . With Real Sociedad playing in front of their home crowd they have the advantage. These are 2 very sound teams on defense and their last matches proved that. This will definitely be a great match to watch. I look for Real Sociedad to pull this out at home.

Spanish La Liga 2012 Preview: Atletico Madrid vs Rayo Vallecano Predictions

Can Atletico's Falcao run another hat trick? Let's see what Rayo Vallecano has to say about that. Catch real time updates on your favorite Spanish La Liga Match.

Atletico Madrid Preview

Atletico starts La Liga with a 1-1 record but, even more impressive is their high scoring output in their last 2 matches. 4-1(A) against Chelsea and 4-0 against Athletic Bilbao (4). In their last match, against Chelsea Atletico mid fielder Radamel Falcao had a field day with them going for the hat trick scoring in the 6, 19,45 min of the match. Falcao’s second hat trick in 4 days out gunning Fernando Torres. Atletico has a talented core group and can put run the score at any given time.

Rayo Vallecano Preview

Rayo comes in with an impressive 2-0-1 to start the young season. Just coming off of a draw against Sevilla. Rayo can count themselves lucky because if it weren’t for the fact that Sevilla missed 2 penalties it could have easily meant a loss for Rayo. Sevilla had more shots on goal against Rayo 18(3) to Rayo’s 13(4) and time of possession went dead even to both clubs 50% each.

Atletico Madrid vs Rayo Vallecano Predictions: 3-1

Atletico will be at home against Rayo Vallecano with their crowd behind them and their potent offense I see a blow out coming in favor of the home team. Atletico is a much faster team who knows how to turn it on at any given time. They’ll dominate this match from start to finish.

Spanish La Liga 2012 Preview: Real Valladolid vs Real Betis Predictions

Let's see which Real team will come out to fight in this week as both teams clash in the La liga League. Catch real time updates on your favorite Spanish La Liga Match.

Real Valladolid Preview

Real Valladolid starts the young season with a 2-1 record just recently losing to Athletic (A) 2-0. Athletic Bilbao dominated and doubled the output of the shots on goal 16(3) to Real Valladolid 8(1) and time of possession 52% to 48%.Real came off of 2 shut out wins to start their season against Levante 2-0 and Zaragoza 1-0 so, it was odd to see them struggle against Athletic to put some points up. Let’s see if they can put their offense back together for this upcoming game.

Real Betis Preview

Real Betis comes into this match with a 1-1-1 record with their recent loss against Rayo. Probably, most impressive was their scoring out against Athletic when they won their match 5-3 all of their goals coming from the second have after giving up 3 goals in the 1st. Real Betis has moments when they look brilliant but, then they go into a lull where they are nowhere to be found.

Real Valladolid vs Real Betis Predictions: 2-1

Real Valladolid is for real and their record proves it other then their recent loss what makes them a great team is the fact they don’t give up point. I see this being a dog fight for both teams but, in the end the home team Real Valladolid takes this one.

English Premier League 2012 Preview: Swansea City vs Everton Predictions

Both teams look to advance in the Premier League . Will it be Swansea City or Everton? Catch real time updates on your favorite English Premier League Match.

Swansea City Preview

Swansea City’s 2-0-1 record is respectable enough to earn them a second place standing in the English Premier League. Despite coming off of the draw at home. Swansea’s previous matches were offensive explosions. An impressive win at home against Barnsley 3-1 and their opening match against West Ham (H) enjoying a 3-0 trouncing. Swansea City primarily relies on the scoring of mid fielder Michu who currently leads the team with 4 goals in 3 games.

Everton Preview

Everton enters the match with a 2-1-0 record that earns them a 6th place standing in the Premier League. Like Swansea City, Everton packs a good offensive punch shown in their previous games most recently against L. Orient defeating them 5-0 and their opening match 3-1 against Aston Villa (A).Marouane Fellaini currently leads the team with 2 goals. There are high expectations from their fans this year at worse they are expecting at least a 6th place finish and that’s where they are today.

Swansea City vs Everton Predictions: 2-1

This is an important match for both squads especially for Everton . Everton needs this to advance and keep up with the league leaders. Unfortunately, Swansea City is playing at home and they to will look to advanced in their own right. It will definitely be a fight but, Swansea City will prevail with a close home win.

English Premier League 2012 Preview: Chelsea vs Stoke City Predictions

Can Chelsea get back in form? or will Stoke City claim their 1st win?. We'll see as the Premier League moves forward into the season. Catch real time updates on your favorite English Premier League Match.

Chelsea Preview

Chelsea comes into this match after a long rest (last match played August 31) against Atletico Madrid (H). That match was one for Chelsea to forget after suffering an embarrassing loss 1-4 in front of their home crowd and Super Cup on the line. The Blues looked like they forgot what got them their looking completely loss in that match. Hopefully, we’ll see a much more lively team when they face Stoke City.

Stoke City Preview

In a much needed win Stoke City will look to get their 1st win of the premier league. They come into this match with 3 equalizers(Yes! 3 draws) recently coming off of a 2-2 draw against Wigan Athletic. Stoke City is looking to get some offense going from anywhere 3 of their midfielders are tied with only 1 goal apiece. On a positive note Stoke City newly signed Charlie Adam will look to provide the offensive spark that is greatly needed for Stoke City.

Chelsea vs Stoke City Predictions: 3-1

Chelsea playing at home will get them back on track especially matching up with a poor Stoke City team. Stoke City will not have enough time to groom Charlie Adam in their offense. More of a concern is that Stoke City on defense can’t hold a glass of water. Look for Chelsea to dominate this game from start to finish.

Norwich City is still looking for their 1st win in the Barclays can They do it against an injured Newcastle United. Catch real time updates on your favorite English Premier League Match.

Newcastle United Preview

Bad news comes at the wrong time for Newcastle. Goalkeeper Tim Krul (Strined Muscle) and Team Captain Fabricio Coloccini (ankle injury) will have to sit out against Everton on the 17th. It hurts Newcastle because as it is the team is also suffering key losses for Pardew who walk into the match without four first-team players, with Cheick Tiote and Danny Simpson will also be unavailable for journey to Everton.

Norwich City Preview

Norwich City came into the match looking for their 1st win in the Barclays. It looks like they’ll have to wait another week. Norwich City was only able to come out with an equalizer today against West Ham 0-0 (H). Norwich City was able to get more attempts at the goal 25(10) to West Ham’s 14(3). The match was a complete lull as both teams looked loss and was without a strategy. West Ham had their opportunities to win as well but just couldn’t put it together. Norwich City’s offense once again was nowhere to be found.

Newcastle United vs Norwich City Predictions: 3-1

Despite the key injuries for Newcastle the fact that they are at home and also that they are playing a dismal Norwich City is enough for Newcastle to pull a win out. The fact is Norwich City is horrible so, it allows Newcastle United some breathing room.

English Premier League 2012 Preview: Southampton vs Aston Villa Predictions

Can Southampton redeem themselves after the bloodbath they took? Let's see what Aston Villa has to say about this. Catch real time updates on your favorite English Premier League Match.

Southampton Preview

Southampton took a bad beating from Arsenal losing 6-1(Yes! That was the score in yesterdays match) as Southampton remains at the bottom of the pack. Arsenal jumped out to a 4-0 lead and then finished off with 2 goals in the second half. The visiting Southampton looked like a deer caught looking at the headlights just completely lost. Southampton plays no defense what so ever and I don’t wonder why they are at the bottom of the standings.

Aston Villa Preview

Manager Paul Lambert couldn’t find a better time to get his 1st win then yesterday as Aston Villa shut out Swansea City making it their 1st win in 13 tries going back to March 10th 2012. Their scores came from newly signed Matthew Lowton and Christian Benteke. Benteke just recently transferred from Genk. Aston Villa definitely looks like a new team also well prepared to really compete in the Barclay’s Premier League.

Southampton vs Aston Villa Predictions: 2-1

Southampton playing at home will comeback from their embarrassing loss yesterday. I see this match close but well fought out. This is a match that Southampton must win to get out of the doghouse.

Can West Bron Bounce Back From Their Humiliating Match? We'll See If Reading Can Put Them To The Test. Catch real time updates on your favorite English Premier League Match.

W.B.A Preview

West Brom visited Fulham only to get bloviated 3-0. Fulham’s striker Dimitar Berbatov scored on a pair of goals made it a great debut for the Bulgarian. Fulham completely dominated WBA from start to finish never giving the visitors a chance. Fulham dominated WBA on the shots on goal 23(10) to WBA 10(5). Fulham’s time of possession vs. WBA’s 37%. This was a match that West Brom wish they could take back.

Reading Preview

Reading is set to play Tottenham tonight which should be a very entertaining match. Reading comes off of their last win against Peterborough 3-2 in the Capital One Cup. Reading is looking for their 1st win in the Premier League and they just might have their best opportunity against West Brom. Reading sits 2nd to last and they know this is a much needed win for them.

W.B.A vs Reading Predictions: 3-2

Playing at home will make all the difference in the world. West Brom is looking for payback after suffering their mental lapse from Fulham. I can see this though being a close match as Reading can’t afford to laydown. WBA currently sits at 5th place in the standings and with this match they will look to advance.

English Premier League 2012 Preview: West Ham United vs Sunderland Predictions

West Ham and Sunderland both come off of equalizers last week. Let's See who'll prevail in the next match. Catch real time updates on your favorite English Premier League Match.

West Ham United Preview

West Ham did themselves no justice by locking up a draw against Norwich City. West Ham had an opportunity to move up in the rankings in the Premier League instead they stand right in the middle of the pack. The crazy thing is it should have been an easy win against Norwich who has yet to get a win in Barclays. West Ham had fewer shots on goal 14(3) to Norwich’s 25(10) but West Ham controlled the time of possession 51% to Norwich’s 49%. Next up for West Ham will be Sunderland.

Sunderland Preview

Sunderland also comes off of a draw 1-1 against Liverpool thanks to Liverpool’s Luis Suarez who caused the equalizer denying Sunderland. Sunderland could have taken the lead as they were awarded at the 20 min mark but Sebastian Larsson curled it off the box just a bit wide of the post. Liverpool dominated the shots on goal 23(6) to Sunderland’s 7(1) time of possession was also gobbled up by Liverpool 66% to 33%. Sunderland was more efficient unfortunately it wasn’t their day.

West Ham United vs Sunderland Predictions: 3-0

West Ham will look to make a statement in this game after coming off of a draw. They’ll look to punish Sunderland in front of their home crowd and as I see it it will be an opportune time to do so. Look for West Ham to dominate from start to finish.

English Premier League 2012 Preview: Wigan Athletic vs Fulham Predictions

This is a needed win for Wigan Athletic. Let’s see if Fulham can play Spoiler away. Catch real time updates on your favorite English Premier League Match.

Wigan Athletic Preview

At first Wigan’s match looked like it was going it to be a stale mate until Manchester United opened up in the second half and scored 4 goals. This match was a blood bath after the 45 minute mark when United took it into over drive. Wigan just looked completely lost in the 2nd half giving up 20(5) shots on goal to their own 7(1). Time of possession was relatively close 52% to 48% for Wigan. In a nutshell, Wigan couldn’t hold a glass of water.

Fulham Preview

Fulham comes into this match with a great win over West Ham (h) blanking them 3-0. Fulham’s Berbatov celebrated in high fashion scoring 2 goals in his debut while mid fielder Steve Sewell added the 3rd. Fulham was in complete control of this match controlling the time of possession 63% to and the 37% shots on goal 23(10) to West Ham’s 10(5).

Wigan Athletic vs Fulham Predictions: 2-1

Wigan Athletic playing at home will have an impact on them let alone the beat down they took from Man U should be enough fire to beat Fulham though this match will be very close. I believe the home field will play a major role in the win for Wigan. Look for an exciting match in this one.

Let's see if Liverpool can pull off the unmentionable against Manchester United. Catch real time updates on your favorite English Premier League Match.

Liverpool Preview

Liverpool survived a close call as striker Luis Suarez scored the tying goal with 19 minutes left to cause a 1-1 draw against Sunderland. The amazing thing was Liverpool was able to control the time of possession holding the ball 66% of the match oppose to Sunderland who help it 33% also the shots on goal for Liverpool was 23(10) to Sunderland’s 7(1). Liverpool will have to play better against their next opponent Manchester United.

Manchester United Preview

It took Manchester one half of silence against Wigan Athletic to only open up a can of whip in the second half scoring 4 goals . The 4-0 win was their best thus far in the early season. Manchester United dominated on shots on goal 20(5) to Wigan’s 7(1). They looked like their usual self turning up the heat at anytime . Manchester sits in 2nd place in the Premier League standings.

Liverpool vs Manchester United Predictions: 2-1

This was a tough call but with Liverpool playing at home I think they can pull off the unthinkable and stun Manchester United. The home crowd will be a key factor in this match but, more important Liverpool has to bring their A game to tack the giant in Manchester.

English Premier League 2012 Preview: Manchester City vs Arsenal Predictions

Manchester playing at home needs this win. Can they pull it off against Arsenal? Catch real time updates on your favorite English Premier League Match.

Manchester City Preview

Manchester City’s match (A) 0-0 equalizer against Stoke City was a disappointment. It was Asmir Begovic late save from Ryan Shaw cross that just cleared the line. There was no reason for Manchester City not to win this match they dominated on shots on goal 15(8) to Stoke’s 4(2) and time off possession 66% to Stoke’s 34%. Manchester City walks away from this match knowing they needed this win to advance now they sit 2-0-2.

Arsenal Preview

Arsenal came into Liverpool with one mind set and that was to destroy. Their 2-0 victory over the home team was no less than stellar. Arsenal’s 2 goals came from Lukas Podolski at the 31 min mark and from mid fielder Santi Cazorla at the 68 min mark. Arsenal looked just as good on the defensive side with Liverpool taking 19(4) shots on goal. Arsenal currently sits in 3rd place in the Barclays with a 2 win-2 Draw and no losses.

Manchester City vs Arsenal Predictions: 2-2

This is a much needed win for both teams. Manchester and Arsenal both have 2 draws already under their belts. Even more so, Manchester City needs this to stay abreast with the elites. I see this being a well-played and exciting match unfortunately these teams will walk away with a draw.

Tottenham Hotspur Preview

Tottenham got their 1st win of the Premier League in nice fashion winning away and beating down Reading 3-0. It was a much needed win for Tottenham manager Villas- Boas who was on the verge of being fired as skipper has a lot to be thankful for starting with thanking stud striker Jermaine Defoe. Tottenham got 2 goals from Jermaine Defoe at the 18’ and 74’. Tottenham dominated this match from start to finish controlling the time of possession 58% to Reading’s 42% and a shot on goal 23(8) to Reading’s 6(2).

As if things couldn’t get worse for Queens Park. Not only did they come off an equalizer at home to Chelsea last week but, lost star striker Andrew Johnson for the rest. English Premier League 2012 Preview: Manchester City vs Sunderland Predictions

Sunderland will attempt to halt Manchester City's home dominance in the English Premier League when the teams meet on Saturday. Catch real time updates on your favorite English Premier League Match.

Manchester City Preview

Roberto Mancini insists he will solve Manchester City's problems quickly as the Premier League champions head into a crucial clash against Sunderland on Saturday. Manchester City are undefeated in their past 32 league matches at Etihad Stadium and Roberto Mancini's squad has also won just one of their last five games against this weekend's opponents.

Manchester City have come a long way from being a relative unknown in third division English football to a club that’s today a serious title contender in the Premier League. So what could be the reason behind Manchester City’s string of poor results in Europe? It’s hard to explain why a coach of Mancini’s calibre struggles to dominate in Europe. Let’s face it – throughout his managerial career, Mancini has had a dismal string of results in Europe.

Sunderland Preview

Sunderland boss Martin O'Neill brings the Black Cats back to the Etihad on Saturday for the weekend's first match in the Premier League. "Do I despair? I must admit I do throw my hands up when I see some of them," O’Neill said.

Sunderland's start to this season has been rather curious. They are unbeaten in five matches, but one win and four draws have yielded but seven points. Unbeaten is unbeaten, and coupled with Manchester City's worrisome defensive play shows this fixture to be a trouble spot for the home side. Sunderland will dearly miss captain Lee Cattermole's typically physical and chippy contribution in the midfield.
