The Mick Price trained Samaready has been heavily backed for Saturday’s Blue Diamond Fillies Prelude shortening from $5.00 to $4.20 at Sportingbet Australia.
The filly won her only start at Flemington in December and Sportingbet Australia CEO Michael Sullivan said punters had clearly picked her out as the one to beat.
“She is the only one punters want, we have taken two bets of $2500 each way and another two of $2500 straight out plus a number of smaller bets,” Sullivan said.
“Mick Price has a very strong team of two year olds and punters think he will be registering another win here.
“She has also been backed from $10 to $7 favourite for the Blue Diamond itself in the past 24 hours following a number of good sized bets.”
Sullivan said there had also been two horses well backed in the colts and geldings edition with the Peter Snowden trained Rusambo the best backed.
“Rusambo has been backed from $3.20 to $2.70 with a bet of $6000 leading the charge as soon as we put the market up,” he said.
“There has also been a good nibble for the Hawkes trained first starter Greenwich which has been backed from $15 to $9.50 which suggests it might be one to watch.”
