Australian Daniel Geale is a $1.60 favourite to defend his IBF world middleweight title against England’s Darren Barker when the pair clash in the United States on August 17.
The event will mark Geale’s fifth defence of his title and his first fight on US soil. Barker is a $2.25 outsider.
“Geale was backed into $1.20 when he took on Mundine so the odds here suggest he’s in for a much tougher fight against Barker,” Sportingbet Australia spokesman Andrew Brown said.
“We’re tipping it will go the distance but feel Barker’s orthodox style will suit Geale and the Aussie should win the fight,” Brown said.
