    NM4's tennis plays

    WTA New Haven (CONNECTICUT OPEN)

Larsson @ $2.38 (William Hill or Ladbrokes) x 2 units
Larsson has been playing some good tennis beating some quality players lately. Vinci has really struggled a little bit since Wimbledon. If Larsson can keep the unforced errors down I think she wins fairly easily.

Vesnina @ $2.10 (William Hill or Ladbrokes) x 2 units
Vesnina holds a 2-0 head to head record and has been playing consistent tennis over at least a 2 month period. Her last 3 loses have all come against players with big serves and heavy shots. Svitolina doesn't fit that profile. Odds should be the other way around imo.

    No good last night.

Van Uytvanck lost in 3 sets, Lottner won but means nothing with Van Uytvanck losing.

    Record 1-2
    Units -1.24

US Open starts next week so should see plenty of opportunities over the next 2 weeks.

    Tennis plays for US Open

    All bets with Unibet
    Parmentier @ $4.10 x 1 unit
    Hogenkamp @ $3.15 x 1.5 units
    Konjuh @ $2.17 x 2 units

Garcia has only won 2 matches since Wimbledon and only won 2 from 7 matches at the US Open(including qualifying) and while Garcia is the better player I think Parmentier has the better form and is every chance to cause the upset here.

Hogenkamp is on a good run lately and Watson has been horrible, not winning back to back matches since May. Watson has also never won a match at the US Open in 6 attempts.

Konjuh has a habit of winning 1st round matches in majors and am backing her to do it again. Her form is solid with a 6-3 record on hard courts since Wimbledon. Bertens had a hot streak through the clay season and performed okay at Wimbledon but hasn't won a match on hard courts since.

    Bonus bet.

    US Open - Gonzalez @ $3.05 x 1 unit (Unibet)

Gonzalez has been playing some good tennis lately. Kovinic on the other hand has been in a serious form slump - winning only 3 out of her last 10 and none of them were on hard court - she is 4/10 on hard court this year and 43/50 lifetime.

    US Open plays

Siniakova @ $2.63(Ladbrokes) x 2 units - Unfortunately most other bookies have Siniakova around the $2.30 mark
    Beck @ $2.67(Unibet) x 2 units

Garcia has been scratchy for a while now. winning only 4 out of her last 10 and has a poor US Open record. Siniakova has been hot winning 8/10, also beat Garcia at Wimbledon. So these odds are too good to pass up.

This should be a cracker of a match and should be close. Beck has found some form lately and will give this a real shake. Odds should be closer to $2.10-$2.20 in my opinion, so I see real value here.

    Konjuh @ $3.25 (William Hill) x 3 units

Going to keep riding the Konjuh bandwagon. This is actually a very good match up for Konjuh. Pliskova is a hard hitting & serving player but she doesn't really have much else and the way she hits the ball leaves little margin for error. Konjuh has a better all court game, moves better and has just as a potent forehand and serve. Bit surprised at the odds here, most bookies have it around the $3 mark, I think it should be more around $2.30-$2.50 so there is some value available in my opinion.

    US Open Women's final

    Pliskova @ $2.52 x 2 units (Sportsbet)
    Pliskova 2-0 @ $4.35 x 1/2 unit (Unibet)

Pliskova is in the form of her life. Serving big and winning around 80% of points on first serve gives her a lot of free points and making it hard to break here serve. Serena Williams could only manage to break her once in their match.
Kerber while clearly in the top 2 players in the world at the moment she has hard trouble with Pliskova leading the head to head 4-3 but one of those matches was in 2011, when Pliskova was only 19. They played only a few weeks ago in the WTA Cincinnati final with Pliskova winning 6-3, 6-1 and I see a similar result here which is why I'm going value for a 2-0 result for Pliskova. Everytime Pliskova has beaten Kerber it's been in 2 sets.

    WTA Quebec qualification - Danielle Lao @ $2.81 x 2 units (Sportsbet)

Lao has beaten Jaksic both times they have played (once in 2016 & 2015) an d I see nothing in Jaksic's form line to suggest Lao won't be in with a good shot to take this one out as well. Lao is coming off a 3 set win against Karatantcheva who has been ranked inside the top 50.

On Martincova again, keep finding value at the odds on offer. On paper there really isn't much between these two, Pegula is probably the better player but Martincova has played and beaten the better players so far and has also had a day off, which helps considering she came through qualifying and had 2 hard fought 3 set wins in the main draw. I also think Martincova has a clear fitness advantage or Pegula so the longer the match goes the more I favour Martincova.

Couple of long shot tennis plays.

WTA Guangzhou Qualification - Liu vs Guo. Gou to win @ $6.50 x 0.5 units = 3.25 units
This is a bit of a hit and hope. Guo has caused some big $ upsets so far in her short career and at these odds it's worth a small punt.

WTA Soul Qualification - Han vs Sawayanagi. Han to win @ $2.85 x 1 unit = 2.85 units
Odds to good to pass up here. Han playing at home, against younger player she beat easily last year. Both players been in reasonable form but odds look to be a bit out of whack.

Martincova's run has to come to an end sooner or later but again the odds are too good to pass up. $3.75 is way overs, Davis is the better player but you don't make the semi final of a WTA event without playing well and Martincova is playing the best tennis of her career. Every chance to pull off another upset.

Martincova couldn't quite pull it off. Losing in 3 sets, she gave it a good crack though managing to win the second set even after picking up a leg injury. Just struggled to hold serve in the 3rd set.

Found a play I couldn't walk away from, just too much value on offer.

    WTA Guangzhou Qualification - Tanaka @ $3.50 (Bet365) x 1.5 units = 5.25 units

Tanaka been in pretty good form and beat Namigata when they last played 3 years ago. Normally I wouldn't pay much attention to a result so old but as Namigata is 34 and her ranking has fallen around 100 spots in the last 18 or so months. These odds just seem to generous to pass up.

No good, battled hard and created plenty of chances just couldn't hold her own serve.

    Tomorrow's play

    WTA Toyko
    Bencic @ $2.52 (Crownbet) x 2.5 units = 6.3 units
    Bencic 2-0 @ $4.25 x 0.5 units = 2.12 units

Amazing odds for a player who has beaten Wozniacki in straight sets the last 3 times they have played. The reason Wozniacki is such a heavy favourite is because she finally found some form at the US open this year. Both women have struggled this year but Bencic took 2 months off after Wimbledon and started to look better in the US open herself. Both ladies play well at this tournament and I see $2.52 as extreme value.
