Australia vs. Saudi Arabia - World Cup Qualifiers

After 763 days without a game on home soil, The Socceroos are set to take on Saudi Arabia in their quest for a fifth World Cup qualification, and according to online bookmaker Sportsbet, the punters are in their corner.

The Aussies hold over 80% of the turnover in the Win-Draw-Win market, while sitting favourite at $1.70.

Saudi Arabia aren’t without support though with one punter placing a $2,000 wager on The Green Falcons at $5, who currently sit undefeated in the group stage with four wins from as many matches.

“Saudi Arabia have been playing some great football over the tournament so far, but there’s always a fair amount of patriotic punting that gets behind our Aussies” – Said Sportsbet communications manager Rich Hummerston.

    Market courtesy of Sportsbet:

    Australia Vs Saudi Arabia
    $1.70 - Australia
    $3.40 - Draw
    $5.50 - Saudi Arabia

I'm always wary when bookmakers take a position. 80% of turnover yet 1.70 odds...
