    bet365 restrictions on accounts

Just wondering has anyone else had restrictions put on there account after not having any withdrawals??
Just seems odd that they can do this without any explanation.

Hi k boody, is it a betting limit restriction because you've been winning a lot? Or is it because you haven't completed your ID verification?

If it's because you've been winning well, be365 aren't the only bookmaker to do this. It's actually common practice in Australia due to their "recreational gamblers only" policies.

We've previously written an article on services that never limit accounts which you may find useful:

Bet 365 are into restrictions if you are a winner. They advertise that they are the biggest in the world and are now in Australia but their administration appears to continue to be effectively run out of the UK. Their website and administrative procedures for deposit/withdrawal are not very good but the positive is their racing odds assessors for the Austrlian racing codes are not very good either so if you are a form student you can get on some winners at good odds. The downside is that if you back a few too many winners for their liking, particularly at the top price in their markets, they will catch up with you and you will eventually be restricted to bets with ridiculous limits (to win about $30). All of the corporate bookies will do this and they are not as quick off the mark as Sportsbet, but they don’t want you if you back winners over time. If you get a poorly written message when you log on to your account but it has buried away in it the word “restrictions”, you know you have a problem. If you enquire, you will get the following form response:

“I would like to make you aware that our traders review all accounts on a regular basis. It maybe that the traders have taken the decision to implement restrictions on the account.

This is done purely at the traders discretion and would be the result of a trading decision. This means that bets placed via the Internet or mobile will be subject to restrictions.

This also means that the max bet is the maximum allowed for that particular selection, although the max bet will vary from selection to selection the value stated cannot be exceeded.”

This is course is code for Bet365 makes the rules and we don’t want you as a client. The best option is take it as a badge of honour and simply withdraw the balance (which they will make as bureaucratically difficult as they can) and close the account. The article written by the Administrator about limiting accounts should name names. Sportsbet (and IASbet, effectively the same company) are most active in imposing draconian restrictions if you are a winner, with Bet 365 and Ladbrokes not far behind.

Hi roddo, welcome to the site. Like most Australian bookmakers, Pointsbet will automatically try to verify your identity using the VEDA verification service. If they're unable to do so automatically you might have to send in documents. If you are unsure if they have verified you, go into My Account and see if you have a ‘Not Verified’ link available. If there is one, it means you VEDA verification may not have worked and you will need to send in certified documents. PointsBet will usually contact you if you are required to send in anything. You can send your completed documentation to: support@pointsbet.com.
