    NRL Round 25

The NRL enters the penultimate round this weekend. The round opens with 2 vs 1 as Manly host Melbourne in a game where the Storm could wrap up the Minor Premiership. In other games, the Bulldogs must win and hope other results go their way to mathematically remain in finals contention. There is also a multi-team scrap for the last home Qualifying Finals spot.

Below are the latest fixture odds (subject to change). When Mike's previews become available the links will be posted here.

ANyone see any value in Warriors and Sths ?

Warriors playing away against an out of form Dragons.. pressure is mounting at Dragons, they are not in a good spot at the moment. Warriors are due a loss and not exactly blowing teams off the park, but they are playing some good footy... @$2.60 might be worth somehting to Warriors.

Broncos are in excellent form, surely must lose a game before the finals, Hodges is out.. Sths are on the crest of a high at the moment. THey may carry that form and pull the upset over the Broncos.. this game means more to Sths then it does Broncos..

Not sure if I will bet on either yet... what do you guys think ?

i'm with you Goodsy... i'm inclined to back both the warriors and rabbitohs. i then need just the one to get up..

i reckon the warriors are slightly better value than rabbitohs, if youre after just one bet

i think the dragons will give the warriors a lesson in football, it is down south @ the gong they normally play good down there. i will be all over the dragons they have too bounce back.

Yeah im finding the Raiders v Panthers game tricky.. I agree with you about which Panthers side will turn up.

At home Canberra are a different team.. there is money to be had but I wont be betting on this one, its too much 50/50..

Is anyone giving Gold Coast a chance? I'm thinking of adding the Tigers to a multi...

Below are some comments on this round from the traders at Sportsbet (view the full article):

    Parramatta vs Roosters

    • It’s time for the Eels to play with their head as well as their heart and a little more patience in attack would help their cause. Not a betting game however.

    Manly vs Melbourne

    • There are no weaknesses to either team here and we just believe the home advantage and no Cronk will tip the scales in the Sea Eagles’ favour. Our traders suggest backing them at the minus giving away a try.

    Bulldogs vs Newcastle

    • The market looks spot on here and it’s hard to tip either club with any confidence so save the pennies for a more attractive betting option.

    North Queensland vs Cronulla

    • The ‘Cows’ are a good option to be the banker in your multi’s.

    Canberra vs Penrith

    • A hard game to get inspired about putting your hard earned on.

    St George vs New Zealand

    • There can be no excuses this week for the Dragons, they are at home and are back to a full strength line up and our traders are confident that a converted try is value, so suggest punters take the minus here.

    Brisbane vs Souths

    • A possible top two finish for the Broncos if the Sea Eagles lose to the Storm will be enough incentive for the home team to get the chocolates here.

    Wests Tigers vs Gold Coast

    • Our traders cannot see the Tigers dropping this one however the Titans have visited twice to Campbelltown and both times there has been no more than 2 points in it. Tigers win, but the Titans at the +18½ is some value.

    Liking both underdogs tonight.

    Melbourne Storm ML @ $2.50
Might add Storm 1-12 at $4.05 on sportingbet

    Sydney Roosters ML @ $2.10

Well it's a bit of a fan bet, although I was/am a fan of Manly before Storm entered the comp. So I think that negates the bias!

Best value for an underdog bet for the round imo. It will be a close one either way, probably resemble the Storm v Dragons from last week. Both sides defences are tough to crack but Billy will get the job done!

Dammit bet365 grades Roosters ML as a loss. What a bs condition. Sportingbet include extra time for SU wins and state that clearly on the page for the markets.

ok super saturday what is a good trebble for tonights games????
i really like canberra- old boys day down there, toungs last home game and at home should be too good for the up and down panthers. dont know about covering the -5.5 h2h looks good

how much can the cowboys win by??? -16.5??? the sharks dont normally lose by much but the cowboys will be steaming about the loss last week.

bulldogs at home looks a good H2H bet +2.5 is not a bad to drive the multi up a bit,
canberra H2h, over46.5 points scored in the cowboys game, dogs H2H @ $4.40
    any thoughts???

Cowboys last home game for the year (depending on finals roster), so I expect them to at the very least win the game!

I know what you mean Goodsy. The bookies have really stomped on any possible value this round. It's near impossible finding a best bet.

They are just too risky or not good value.

I might do 2 outsider bets on today though.. small stake so I dont tisk too much. Glad I didnt bet last night.. I would have come out down.

    As for today..

Gonna bank on Dragons to continue bombing out, though wouldnt surprise me to see Dragons return to form in emphatic fashion now we are so close to finals. But, going the smokey with $5 on Warriors.

Also with Manly winning on Friday night there is not a lot for Broncos to play for now other than keeping momentum and combinations going. Souths have it all to play for, with Newcastle losing last night, its all to play for now with the Bunnies.. I can see the upset happening with the Bunnies fairytale form marching on. $5 on Bunnies today..

Only need the one to get up and then I have a profit on todays 2 bets.

Im hving a good weeken so far... hope I keep it going.

    Playing Titans +20.5 @ $1.91 for tonight's game.

West should surely win comfortably but hopefully not more than 20!
