    Frequently asked questions

Below are some answers to frequently asked questions:

Why don't you add more betting agencies?

    • Due to the performance graph, adding betting agencies is time consuming. It also increases the file size due to the need for additional hidden columns in the Bets worksheet. Furthermore, this worksheet is intended for casual sports betters who only have a few betting accounts.

Can you add XXXX feature for XXXX bookmaker?
    • There have been requests to accommodate unique features of some betting agencies such as lay bets on Betfair and spread betting on Sports Alive. While it is possible, this workbook is intended to have a gentle learning curve for casual sports betters, and it's difficult to add a myriad of extra features without making the spreadsheet too complicated for other users. Many people who have submitted feedback have expressed their appreciation that the spreadsheet isn't overly feature-packed and difficult to learn compared to other available spreadsheets. However, we are happy to assist those who wish to tailor the spreadsheet to their needs.

What is the password to unlock the spreadsheet?

    • The password is sport. Instructions on how to unlock the spreadsheet can be found in the Settings worksheet.

    Some more common questions:

I'm using a bookmaker (e.g. Pinnacle Sports) that displays odds to three decimal places, like 1.909. Does the betting sheet support this?

Yes. If you input 1.909 the sheet will display the odds as 1.91 but 1.909 is used in the calculations.

The Performance Graph displays 1-Jan-1900 in the horiztonal axis. What went wrong?

Most likely you deleted the first row of the Bets data sheet. When deleting the default values, don't delete the rows themselves, as this will throw off background calculations. If you ever get stuck, simply paste your data into a fresh copy of the spreadsheet.

Another possibility is that you've inputted dates into the Bets sheet in the wrong format. The spreadsheet uses the 25-Jan-12 format (meaning January, 25th, 2012).

When I enter in values like P Y N R and H into the Win column the Bets sheet displays an error. How do I fix this?

Most likely you deleted rows 9-16 of the Bets data sheet. When deleting the default values, don't delete the rows themselves, as this will throw off background calculations. If you ever get stuck, simply paste your data into a fresh copy of the spreadsheet.
