    Weekend racing preview

With all of the sport that's on this weekend, it's easy to forget there's still plenty of racing to look forward to! Below are some comments on highlighted races from the traders as IASbet.

Manikato Stakes - Moonee Valley Race 6
Champion two year old Sepoy ($2.10) has proven he's come back as a three year old and is on top again. He should lead here and gets the weight advantage on the WFA scale. More Joyous ($2.90) has been trialling and working very well for this and will box seat just behind Sepoy. If he has any chinks in his armour she might be too good. Sister Madly ($13.00) was very impressive first up for her new trainer at Caulfield and is drawn to get a perfect run. Atomic Force ($10.00) has to be included in calculations. He's racing very well and the rain in Melbourne is a bonus for him.

Epsom Handicap - Randwick Race 7
Pinker Pinker ($5.50) is on top in a typically open Epsom. She's been flying in good mares races in Melbourne, will get the perfect run in this and is on the limit weight. Any rain about will enhance her chances further. Secret Admirer ($7.50) and Foreteller ($8.50) both look to have been set for this and will be peaking. Secret Admirer was a little disappointing last time, but the quick back up suits, while Foreteller will be fitter now and the rise to the mile is ideal. Prepared to risk Sincero ($4.60). His form is excellent but his inside barrier could make things tricky as he'll get back in the run.

Flight Stakes - Randwick Race 8
Streama ($3.60) will be very hard to beat again. She's won her last two and races forward so gives herself every chance. Hallowell Belle ($4.20) will give her a good test. She was desperately unlucky last time in Melbourne, is looking for the mile and will be suited by the big track. Pane In The Glass ($3.60) is extremely honest and is in the mix again. At good odds, Tai Tai Tess faces a rise in class but races on the speed and with a moderate tempo can run a cheeky race.

Some betting tips for the weekend

The following are some racing previews and betting tips from Paul Vincent, an insider at Luxbet.

    Friday:

Manikato Stakes (Moonee Valley) - it sees the clash of super 3 year old Sepoy and proven top class mare More Joyous. They clearly have a class edge of their rivals. I'm opting for Sepoy as he has had the benefit of two runs from a spell and gets 4.5kg in weight off More Joyous in this weight for age event. He should prove too quick around the tight Valley circuit.

    Saturday:

Spring Champion Stakes (Randwick) - Strike The Stars is the best bet of the day coming off a soft yet dominant win in the Gloaming Stakes. His form is superior to that of his rivals coming through a suspect form race at Newcastle which leaves Doctor Doom as the second elect.

Epsom Handicap (Randwick) - Foreteller is coming into this off an unconventional preparation having gone 1800 then 1300m now up to 1600m. However, his last run was an eye catcher when running fifth beaten under two lengths and he is adept in all going. King Lionheart looks the danger after two wins from a spell and is capable of controlling tempo in a race with no noted leader.

Flight Stakes (Randwick) - Streama has looked good winning her last two albeit off slow tempo races. She can position herself on speed here and has the turn of foot to dispose of these. Hallowell Belle was a good thing beaten last start and is the definite danger.

Metropolitan (Randwick) - Tullamore was poorly ridden last start when he settled off the pace. A free going stayer he will relish the 2400m and a more aggressive ride and can salute at nice odds. Crafty Irna's last run was outstanding when narrowly beaten by Lamasery (who has won again since) and she looms as the clear second elect.

    Sunday:

Turnbull Stakes (Flemington) - Ruling Caulfield Cup favourite December Draw will continue on his winning way here. He's unbeaten at this track and will settle on speed and prove too strong. Best bet of the day.

    Judgement

*Spring Champion - Strike The Stars scored a soft but dominant win in the Gloaming Stakes last start and is the best bet of the day. His main rivals are coming out of a suspect form race at Newcastle for mine which leaves Doctor Doom the likely leader as the second pick.

    Tips

    * Epsom - Coming into this of an unconventional preparation but his last run was an eye catcher and is adept in all going.

    * Best Bet - Randwick Race 6 # 2 Strike The Stars. Scored a dominant win in the Gloaming and that is a superior form line to the Spring Stakes for mine.

    * Best Value - Randwick Race 9 # 7 Tullamore. Not ridden aggressively enough last start and with the drop in weight and distance rise can salute in a tough race.

    * Best Backed - Moonee Valley 7 # Chase The Rainbow . Solidly supported from $2.90 into $2.40

    * Lay of the day - Randwick Race 8 # 1 Pane In The Glass. Has no tactical speed and will get buried on the fence from her inside gate and concede a big start to her main rivals.
