Schillachi Stakes at Caulfield - How many lengths will Black Caviar win by?

With Black Caviar expected to romp home in Saturday’s Schillachi Stakes at Caulfield, Sportingbet Australia has opened a market on the winning margin in the race.

Sportingbet Australia CEO Michael Sullivan said the market represented an opportunity for punters to find some value if the champion mares bolts in.

“It would be a brave man to say Black Caviar won’t win but at $1.08 she’ll be too short for plenty of punters to get on so this market gives punters a chance at getting some good odds in the race,” said Sullivan.

Sullivan said he expected to see plenty of money for Black Caviar to bolt in given her dominance over better quality fields than Saturdays.

“Black Caviar won this race by 1.3 lengths last year but wasn’t scaring off her rivals at that stage and that edition was a little stronger,” Sullivan said.

“Even though the 1000 metres is a little short of her best distance everything points to a comfortable win and I think we will write plenty of bets at $3.65 on her winning by 4.5 lengths or more.”

A margin of between 1.51 to 3 lengths is favourite at $3.35, 3.1 to 4.5 lengths is second favourite at $3.40 with a dead heat to 1.5 lengths at $3.90.
