Weekend racing and harness preview - Nov 26th

Below are comments on selected races this weekend from the traders at IASbet.

Eagle Farm Race 7 – Keith Noud Quality

Open race with Essington ($4.00) among the better chances. First up he has a strong record, from the wide barrier he should jump ok and take a forward position. Work The Room ($7.00) won well when resuming here a fortnight ago. He maps well again here and drops 3kg from that run. A repeat of his first up performance would make him hard to beat again. Belltone ($4.60) won 5 of 6 last preparation and looks to have plenty of upside. Might be a little risky first up at his current quote in this, but must be respected. Ready To Rip ($6.50) is a talented 4yo and is racing well this preparation. He’ll settle back in the field but with a solid tempo can finish off the race well.

Eagle Farm Race 8 – David Jones Handicap

Very competitive race. Solzhenitsyn ($4.20) is resuming after winning three on end once the blinkers were added when last in work. Looks a little vulnerable with 58kg and is giving some weight to some promising 4yos. The pick of those is Skating On Ice ($4.00) who still looks attractively weighted. She maps well and should get the run of the race with G Colless in the saddle. Another good chance at odds is Aquatorial ($11.00). Resumed impressively in quick time over 1000m running faster time than last Saturday’s winner Alltherightmoves. Audacious Spirit ($5.50) has improved with each run this preparation and looks nicely placed back in this class.

    Harness racing:

Cricket Miracle Mile – Menangle Race 8

Defending champion Smoken Up ($2.25) is clearly the one to beat again. He’s drawn perfectly and on paper looks to get a soft lead. I’m Themightyquinn ($3.00) is drawn well in barrier 3 and should settle one out, one back and if within striking distance can produce a brilliant sprint to go very close. Mr Feelgood ($6.00) could get a nice sit in behind Smoken Up which gives him a good each way chance. Franco Jamar ($9.00) is undefeated in all six starts for Luke McCarthy and looks untapped. Gun 4yo Terror To Love won the NZ Cup but faces a task given his tricky draw and the poor record of 4yos in this race.

Trotters Mile – Menangle Race 7

The 5 Victorians look to have a stranglehold on this event. Superstar, Sundons Gift ($1.85), is the one they all have to beat. He resumed with a tough win first up and is deserved favourite. The speedy beginner I Didn’t Do It ($4.00) could be the early leader and might take running down over this shorter trip. Aleppo Sunrise ($6.00), stable mate of the favourite, is a horse on the up and can run well here. Miss Warbucks ($7.00) is a trifecta chance, she’s a winner of two from two for Chris Lang Junior.
