Warwick Farm Race 6 Group 2 Inglis Villiers Stakes

Warwick Farm Race 6 Group 2 Inglis Villiers Stakes

This is a race for lightweights with only one winner carrying more than 54.5kgs since 1993. The speed looks good with both Zara Dancer ($16.00) and Viva Las ($17.00) being forced to work across from wide alleys, as King Lionheart ($9.00) and Without Compromise ($34.00) kick up to capitalize on inside draws.

The weight horse here is Kontiki Park ($11.00), who has impressive course and distance statistics and meets New Day Rising ($10.00) 4.5kgs better for just over a length defeat at Rosehill last Saturday. Although new wonder kid Chad Schofield is unable to take advantage of his claim, New Day Rising also boasts excellent course and distance figures and is a definite winning chance.

The John O’Shea trained Lightinthenite ($5.00) is an improver on the minimum and as such ticks all the boxes. Fibrillation ($11.00) has returned from a break in fine fettle and the engagement of Corey Brown combined with the likelihood of some cut in the ground affords her an excellent chance.

First emergency, My Destiny ($8.00) is airborne at the moment and if he gains a run will make his presence felt. Erewhon ($11.00) was racing well in Sydney before losing his way slightly during the Melbourne Carnival, he has been freshened and the Snowden camp have an enviable strike rate when their charges switch states.

Melbourne visitor Shadowfax ($6.00) arrives with a consistent record but has to find a new level of performance at his first go the Sydney way. All in all a very deep race with the topweights facing a task.
