Black Caviar is at what’s become known as ‘Black Caviar’ odds of $1.06 with Sportingbet Australia to win Saturday’s Black Caviar Lightning Stakes at Flemington. The six-year-old superstar has started in the red, or odds-on, at all bar her first race start back in April 2009 when she was a $3 chance.
“She’s cost us a fortune over the years,” said Sportingbet Australia CEO Michael Sullivan.
“Each time she lines up the big punters come out to play and we’re expecting a number of six figure bets over the next few days,” Sullivan said.
Black Caviar’s closest rivals on Saturday, her stablemate Moment Of Change and Shamexpress, are $15 hopes with Sportingbet. Another rival, Spirit Cent, is at $501.
“We’re offering $1.25 about Black Caviar staying undefeated in 2013 and when you consider the short odds she normally goes around in that could end up representing tremendous value, particularly if she only has two or three runs,” Sullivan said.
Those brave enough to bet against her staying undefeated in 2013 can get odds of $3.80.
