TJ Smith Stakes - Randwick - Black Caviar drifts to 1.15

Superstar sprinter Black Caviar might be aiming for 25 wins from as many starts when she contests the TJ Smith Stakes at Randwick on Saturday, but punters have been looking around for horses to beat her.

Black Caviar’s odds have drifted from $1.12 to $1.15 with Sportingbet. If she starts at that price on Saturday, they will be the longest odds she’s started a race in Australia since winning the Newmarket Handicap at Flemington in March 2011.

“We’ve sent out a search party for her followers,” Sportingbet Australia CEO Michael Sullivan said.

“Every time we’ve put up a price in the past punters have launched with some huge bets but for some reason they seem a touch nervous this week,” Sullivan said.

Bel Sprinter is a rock solid $8 second favourite with Sportingbet ahead of Sea Siren at $19 and Hay List at $21.

“There’s been some steady support for Bel Sprinter and Epaulette is $101 into $51 after a couple of significant bets,” Sullivan said.
