Punters are backing the Swans in the wet AFL Grand Final

Punters have declared the Sydney Swans will be the team to beat in wet conditions at the MCG tomorrow and have slashed their price of winning the AFL grand final from $2.82 into $2.50 with Sportingbet Australia.

“It’s been one of the biggest moves for an outsider in a AFL Grand final in recent years,” Sportingbet Australia CEO Michael Sullivan said.

“With the forecast rain the money has completely dried up for the Hawks and the punters have come for Sydney in droves.”

“Punters clearly think the Swans will perform best in the inclement weather,” Sullivan said.

Hawthorn has drifted from $1.45 out to $1.55 to win the grand final as the money continues to pour in for the Swans.

There's been plenty of action in the North Smith Medal betting as well. You can compare the latest Norm Smith medal odds across Australia's leading bookmakers here.

The following is a Sportingbet press release:

Punters are rallying behind Sydney Swan veteran Jude Bolton to win the Norm Smith medal with his price firming sensationally from $41 into $14.

“We’ve written an enormous amount of bets on Bolton to win the Norm Smith medal and the money just keeps coming for him,” Sportingbet Australia CEO Michael Sullivan said.

“Punters clearly spotted value at big odds and he is now their eighth pick.”

Hawthorn’s Sam Mitchell has also been extremely well backed into $5.50 favouritism after as much as $8 was available about him.

“One punter had $3000 on Mitchell at $7 and we’ve taken a stack of other four figure bets on him at $7 and plenty of $500 punters took the $8 at the start of the week,” Sullivan said.

Josh Kennedy is a $7 second favourite ahead of Lance Franklin, Luke Hodge and Brad Sewell all at $9.
