    AFL Grand Final Betting

Only 53% of punters in Western Australia are backing Fremantle to win the AFL grand final, according to data from Sportingbet Australia.

Fremantle is most popular with Northern Territory residents, where 92% of the money wagered on the Grand Final since the two finalists were confirmed has been for the Dockers to beat Hawthorn.

New South Wales is the state most certain of a Hawthorn victory on Saturday, with nearly 98% of money wagered from that State for the Hawks.

74% of money wagered from Victorian residents is for Hawthorn.

“Hawthorn is a $1.68 favourite so you would expect them to attract around 60% of the money at those odds,” Sportingbet Australia spokesman Andrew Brown said.

“While significantly more WA punters are backing the Dockers compared to Victorian punters, the state is still very much divided over which team will win,” Brown said.

Fremantle is $2.25 at Sportingbet and a draw is $31.

Sportingbet expects to hold close to $5 million dollars across all of its AFL grand final markets.

“One of our punters has invested $4170 in 10 separate bets on Fremantle throughout the season and he stands to collect exactly $50,000 if the Dockers get up,”

Fremantle is attracting the bulk of late support to win tomorrow’s AFL Grand Final.

“The money has been running 60/40 in Fremantle’s favour since Thursday,” Sportingbet Australia spokesman Andrew Brown said.

“We’ve taken an equal number of five-figure wagers for each side but the Dockers are attracting a much higher volume of bets, particularly in the $20 to $100 range,” Brown said.

Hawthorn star Sam Mitchell has firmed from $8 into $7 equal favouritism with team-mate Luke Hodge and Fremantle’s Nathan Fyfe for the Norm Smith Medal. Michael Barlow is $9 in front of David Mundy and Matthew Pavlich at $12.

“One punter will collect $40,000 if Mitchell wins the Norm Smith after having $5,000 on him at the $8,” Brown said.

Sportingbet expects to hold $5 million dollars across the 270 AFL Grand Final markets it is taking bets on.

Luxbet has the following promotion for the AFL Grand Final:

      $100 GRAND FINAL BONUS

If the losing team has more scoring shots (more goals and behinds combined) than the winning team, participating members will receive a Bonus Bet up to $100. Bonus Bets will be based on your first Head to Head or Line bet on the match, and will be paid out regardless of whether the bet wins or loses.

Three of the last five Grand Finals saw the losing team have more scoring shots than the eventual premiers. For example, last year saw Hawthorn lose by 10 points although they had 26 scoring shots to Sydney’s 21.

      To particpate:

      1. Enter promo code AFLFINALS13 on your 'My Account' page under "Enter Promo Code".

      2. Place a bet on a Head to Head or Line bet on the AFL Grand Final.

      3. If the losing team has more scoring shots, you’ll receive a bonus bet up to $100.
