    NFL - Week 5

With the excitement of the Rugby World Cup it's easy to forget that the NFL continues this week. The Eagles will try to get their season back on track when they visit the Bills. Cam Newton and the Panthers will be severely tested when they host the Saints. The Colts' awful season is expected to continue when they take on the Chiefs. Two sides that hate each other go head to head when the Patriots host the Jets.

Below are the latest odds (subject to change):

This week the unanimous expert picks are:

    H2H
    New Orleans (1.34)
    Cincinnati (2.08)
    NY Giants (1.22)
    New England (1.22)
    Green Bay (1.38)
    Detroit (1.41)

    Line:
    Cincinnati (+2.5)

    Four of the five back:
    New Orleans (-6.5)
    Oakland (+6.5)
    NY Giants (-9.5)
    San Francisco (+2.5)
    Jets (+9.5)
    Atlanta (+6.5)

I'm still not that confident about making calls myself, but for the H2H, my inclination is New Orleans, NY Giants, New England.

I know this is a little off topic because it's college football, but did anyone catch the Virginia Tech v Miami game this morning? I'm more used to watching NFL so I was taken back by the craziness of college football. Are all college defenses that bad? Virginia Tech won 38-35 in one of the best games I've ever seen. It's was so unpredictable!

I didn't see the game, but NCAAF is much more amateurish than the NFL, which can make for some crazy plays and results. You can get some really lopsided results too. You also get games where virtually every drive results in points, like the one you alluded too.

Here are the expert pick results for this round.

          H2H
          New Orleans (1.34) <-- CORRECT
          Cincinnati (2.08) <-- CORRECT
NY Giants (1.22) <-- INCORRECT (who could have predicted that result?)
          New England (1.22) <-- CORRECT
          Green Bay (1.38) <-- CORRECT
          Detroit (1.41) <-- CORRECT

          Line:
          Cincinnati (+2.5) <-- CORRECT

          Four of the five back:
          New Orleans (-6.5) <-- INCORRECT
          Oakland (+6.5) <-- CORRECT
          NY Giants (-9.5) <-- INCORRECT
          San Francisco (+2.5) <-- CORRECT
          Jets (+9.5) <-- CORRECT
          Atlanta (+6.5) <-- INCORRECT

For the line picks, the two best expert records are 45-32 and 43-34, so I'll pay more attention to their picks than the others for next round.
