The opening fixture of the round is arguably the game of the week, with Liverpool hosting Manchester United. Manchester City host Aston Villa and could end the week at the top of the league regardless of United's result. United and City are currently separated on the table by a solitary one goal difference. At the other end of the table, Wigan and Bolton will fight for the opportunity to climb out of the relegation zone.
