Spanish La Liga 2012 Preview: Real Betis vs Atletico Madrid Predictions

Real Betis and Atletico Madrid will go head to head in this classic match up.

Real Betis Preview

Leo Baptistao scored his first senior goal for Rayo Vallecano as they continued their 100% start to the season with a 2-1 win at Real Betis.

The visitors went ahead within two minutes as Leo's cross was tapped home by Piti, but Betis responded immediately and Jorge Molina headed in his third goal of the campaign moments later.

However, despite withstanding an early Betis onslaught at the beginning of the second period, Rayo looked the more coordinated team throughout and deservedly got the winner on the hour mark when Lass Bangoura teed up Leo to rifle low past Fabricio in the Betis goal.

Both sides had got their campaign off to the perfect starts with wins in week one and both started quickly in this game too, with two goals arriving in the first four minutes.

Firstly, Leo burst down the left and after Fabricio failed to cut out his excellent ball into the middle Piti rolled the ball into the empty net.

Two minutes later though Betis were level when Benat's free-kick found Molina and his deflected effort looped over the helpless Ruben Martinez.

Atletico Madrid Preview

The hosts struck first when El Zhar stroked home from the edge of the area after just five minutes but brought Atleti level 15 minutes later with a stunning strike from distance that gave Gustavo Munua no chance.

The visitors then went on to dominate possession but lacked a cutting edge and it was Levante who came closest to a winner when Vicente Iborra's long-range effort came back off the top of the bar.

Levante were last season's surprise package, finishing sixth - their highest placing in Spanish football's top league.

And they started this campaign in enterprising fashion.

Jose Barkero's corner was cleared by Miranda but only as far as El Zhar - and the former Liverpool winger smashed the ball home to register his first goal for Los Granotes.

Atleti though responded well and after a sustained period of possession Arda made space for himself 25 yards from goal and arrowed the ball high into net.

Thereafter Atletico maintained possession for the majority of the half but it was Levante who came closest to scoring again as Iborra's piledriver from fully 30 yards rattled the top of the crossbar.

Real Betis vs Atletico Madrid Predictions: Draw 1-1

If you’re watching this one .. Guarantee you’ll fall asleep before its over with. Both teams do not bring anything impressive to the table. This will be a slow pace match.

Let's see if West Ham can recover from their lost last week when they play Norwich City in this weeks Premier League action.

Norwich City Preview

Norwich fans can be happy after pulling out a 1-1 draw with QPR. This was a much improved performance for Norwich City.

Every match performance has its good and its bad, but there was a lot more positive than negative for Norwich, which can give fans hope that it it will not be a season of struggle.

On a positive note about the tie, was full backs usually are good but, in this particular match they looked superb.

West Ham United Preview

Coming off of 3-0 win over Fulham is definitely a confident booster after falling to Swansea City 3-0 2 weeks ago. Though West Ham has suffered a major blow in losing star studded Andy Carroll for 6 weeks can really put a hamper on what West Ham is trying to accomplish. They’ll just have to carry on and move forward and hopefully pick up a good signee to replace Carroll.

Norwich City vs West Ham United Predictions: 2-3

West Ham comes into this match on a positive note after making an example of Fulham beating them 3-0 last week. Norwich will put up a fight in this one but, in the end Norwich doesnt match West Ham's offensive power.

English Premier League 2012 Preview: Arsenal vs Southampton Predictions

Southhampton will seek to avenge their last week loss to Wigan and take it out on Arsenal in this weeks English Premier match up.

Arsenal Preview

Arsenal rained on Liverpool’s parade after beating them 2-0 at their home giving Liverpool their worst start of the season in years. Santi Cazorla continues to look to be the bright spot for Arsenal and mid fielder Abou Diaby flourishing in place of Nuri Sahinl, Arsenal looks like a team to reckon with in the English Premier League.

Scoring for Arsenal was a breath of fresh air after going scoreless their 1st 3 games.

It was after Cazorla’s shot that was saved by Reina was the ice breaker in Arsenal ending their scoreless streak for the campaign.

Southampton Preview

It was a showdown for the visiting Wigan who went into Southampton and took a 2-0 victory. Southampton could never really get into this match allowing Wigan to capitalize on their lethargic play.

It was a scoreless first half, Until Wigan struck and wasting little time with their offensive attack on the game. Shaun Maloney became alive and was the playmaker teaming up with Franco Di Santo who then turned and fired a heat missle into the net against a banged Kelvin Davis who sacrificed his side to stay in front.

Southampton was left chasing Wigan from behind in this match looking completely worn out through this match.

Arsenal vs Southampton Predictions: 2-3

Southampton came off of a tough loss last week losing to Manchester United on a remarkable hat trick pulled off by Robin Van Persie. Here is the kicker in this game Arsenal is not Manchester United. Southampton will unleash their frustration on a much weaker Arsenal team that doesn’t stack up offensive or defensive wise to Southampton.

Aston Villa Preview

A loss to Everton 1-3 and a tie 1-1 to Newcastle leave Aston Villa towards the bottom of the list in the EPL standing. Skipper Paul Lambert has a big task on his hands and knows it will take a team effort to pull themselves out of this hole. One of Villas biggest problems is that they have a mix of young talent and a combination of a couple world-class players who have proven PL ability.

Swansea City Preview

Swansea City sits at an impressive 2nd place in the EPL. After coming off impressive wins over West Ham 3-0 and Barnsley 3-1. Swansea continues to show that they do not lack firepower from the offensive side and look every bit of impressive on defense. Though there is one setback from the defense and that is Neil Taylor will miss the season with a severe broken ankle.

Aston Villa vs Swansea City Predictions: 2-1

Aston Villa just came off of a fresh 1-1 draw last week against Newcastle United. Thanks to the help of Ben Arfa who bailed Newcastle with a amazing goal as Aston Villa saw a victory taken before their eyes . They have Swansea this week I believe this will be a great and close match but, with the home crowd behind Aston Villa and the bitter loss from last week they will squeak a victory.

Fulham is not in the best spirits after a disappointing loss 2-3 to Manchester United and suffered a beating from West Ham United losing 3-0. On a positive note they can take their loss in stride against Manchester U. Fulham could not get it going against West Ham leaving them in disarray and scoreless.

W.B.A Preview

High octane West Brom had a close call after closing out a tough victory 4-2 over Yeovil in a clash at the Capital One Cup.

West Brom’s two scores came from mid fielder Shane Long and a goal each from Chris Brunt and Craig Dawson. It’s no puzzle that West Brom can score with the best of them also earlier this week WBA pulled off an impressive 2-0 win over Everton getting goals by stud striker Shane Long and Gareth McAuley. West Brom did the honors by ending Everton's 11-match winning streak in the Premier League.

Fulham vs W.B.A Predictions: 2-3

West Brom packs a nice offensive punch that will be more than Fulham can handle though it won’t be a push over West Brom will walk away with this match.

We knew that Robin van Persie's move from Arsenal to Manchester United would pay off in a big way pulling off a hat trick Manchester 2-3 over Southampton.

Scoring in just what RVP does.

The addition of van Persie just added more fuel to the fire United already loaded with talent still has super stud striker in Wayne Rooney through whom their offense generates.

At the end of the day United is still United and will be their when it’s all said and done.

Wigan Athletic Preview

Wigan Athletic wasted no time in the first half. Scoring 3 of their 4 goals coming off of a 4-1 victory over Nottingham. Nottingham Forest got a quick score right after the break and had a one man up advantage for the last 22 minutes following a red card that was given to Wigan’s centre back Antolín Alcaraz.

Manchester United vs Wigan Athletic Predictions: 3-0

Man U’s Robin van Persie 3 goal hat-trick gave Manchester United not only the 3-2 win over Southampton but gave skipper Sir Alex Ferguson's 1000th league game as a manager. Here is the scary thing about this game super striker Robin Van Persie can have the same type of game against Wigan Athletic. Let's face it Manchester United just has way to much firepower for a lot of teams in the Premier League.

Manchester City will look to dominate once again but, will Stoke City have something to say about it.

Stoke City is looking every bit of unimpressive at home with recent draws to Arsenal (0-0) and Wigan (2-2) also getting a hat trick pulled on them by Swindon’s James Collins in non league. Stoke City needs all the help that they can get. Recently, acquired 32 year old striker Michael Owens, who was released by Manchester United last season. Owens looks to help a struggling Stoke City offense scored 5 goals in 31 appearances for Manchester back in 2009.

Manchester City Preview

Manchester City came off of a 3-1(H) thrashing of QPR last weekend and draw 2-2(A) against Liverpool. Scoring machine Mario Balotelli will sit this game out and be out 10 days for eye surgery due to the wear of contact lenses. Never the less Manchester City still sits in 4th place in the Barclays and will continue to be one of the elites in the league.

Stoke City vs Manchester City Predictions: 1-2

Manchester City made easy work out of QPR 3-1 with goals by their talented young core of strikers Yaya Tour, Edin Dzecko and stand out Carlos Teves. Though they will be without the services of Balotelli, Manchester lead behind the big 3 will be enough to dispose Stoke City. The fact of the matter is Stoke City doesn’t match well with the speed of Manchester City's mid fielders thus making it difficult to beat the visiting Manchester City team.

English Premier League 2012 Preview: Reading vs Tottenham Hotspur Predictions

Reading will look to see if they can continue their offensive tear against Tottenham.

Reading Preview

Reading came off of recent Capital One Cup action by defeating Peterborough 3-1 at home but Reading hasn’t been so hot in Barclay’s play coming off a recent loss 2-4 Chelsea and 1-1 draw against Stoke. Their recent victory saw a glimpse of what their offense should be like as the home crowd witness Reading score 4 quick goals in 7 minutes. Reading knows they can compete in the Premier League they just have to put a couple of matches together and show the world what they are capable of doing on offense.

Tottenham Hotspur Preview

Tottenham is also a team that has fallen into an offensive slumber by coming off of a pair of draws at home to Norwich (1-1) and West Brom (1-1) then losing to Newcastle back on the 18th. The problem is Tottenham is putting together poor 1st halves and causing these equalizers. It’s no wonder by we see Tottenham drifting to the bottom of the standings. It wasn’t looking good for Tottenham until they were saved by Moussa Dembele’s 18 yard strike at the 68 min mark.

Reading vs Tottenham Hotspur Predictions: 0-2

Tottenham will be looking to get off the block and see if they can put some offense together. Their recent equalizers have been anything but impressive for the home crowd. Good thing is they have Reading this week. The Spurs will look to dominate from start to finish their defense is good enough to hold a team like Reading at the end of the day this is money in the bag and chalk up an easy win for Tottenham.

English Premier League 2012 Preview: Queens Park Rangers vs Chelsea Predictions

Let's see if Queens Park can pull off another blow out when they face Chelsea this week in the English Premier League.

Queens Park Rangers Preview

QPR 3 Walsall 0 Thanks to Bobby Zamora’s sweet chippy helped QPR lock in the Capital One Cup third round against Walsall tonight at Loftus Road.

QPR dominated the match avoiding a third straight defeat in the competition to lower league.

QPR struck 1st in the first period then went on to take the the lead when Zamora whose through-ball was placed perfect for Shaun Wright-Phillips to prod home right before the half-hour mark.

QPR were almost pulled back by Walsall as Mid fielder William Grigg topped the bar after the break, but Once again Zamora put the Hoops back on top the with an inspired chip.

Jose Bosingwa also scored on a late goal to wrap things up for QPR, welcomed back Alejandro Faurlin and Kieron Dyer whom both played well and returned from injury.

Chelsea Preview

Chelsea skipper Roberto Di Matteo took a trip down memory lane when asked the last time Chelsea stood at the top of the Barclays Premier League. “It was in November 2010,” the Blues retorted yesterday, in excitement.

The fact that Di Matteo could even remember the date at all was every bit of impressive.

But that date was so long to remember and a reminder of how Chelsea allowed themselves to plunder the last 2 seasons but now find themselves at the top of the standings. Chelsea has put together a 3 win start coming off of victories over Reading (4-2 and Newcastle 2-0)

“We have the opportunity to win. Hopefully, we will continue to play well and reap the reward.”

Queens Park Rangers vs Chelsea Predictions: 0-2

Chelsea was lead by stud striker Eden Hazard whom once again was the standout player in the 2-0 victory over Newcastle. Chelsea will come into this match with the same intensity looking to dominate QPR from start to finish. QPR just doesn’t have the firepower needed to keep up with Chelsea also don’t forget that Chelsea runs a stingy defense.

Barcelona still remains in 1st in La Liga by topping Valencia 1-0(H) last Sunday and 2-1 victory (A) vs Osasuna. Though some internal problems within the team young mid fielder Cesc Fabregas has expressed his frustrations of not getting the offensive opportunities he’s looking for. On a positive note Messi is still doing his thing providing his offense scoring punch.

Getafe vs Barcelona Predictions: 1-4

Home or Away does it really matter with Barcelona?. Barcelona has arguably the world’s best player in Andres Iniesta so, their unprecedented offense is without glitch and they are very sound on defense. Getafe doesn’t stand a chance even at home.

Last minute substitute Juanmi saved a point for Malaga as they drew 1-1 with Real Mallorca.

The forward had only been on the field for nine minutes before he evened out Tomer Hemed's strike at the 67th minute mark.

Both teams went into the match in great form. Malaga came in winning their Primera Division opener against Celta Vigo also before defeating Panathinaikos in their Champions League play-off encounter also Malaga still on their unbeaten start in the Primera Division season capped off a 1-0 victory at Real Zaragoza with the help of Nacho Camacho's second header.

Levante Preview

Levante pulled off a beautiful 3-2 comeback win against Espanyol and earn their first Primera Division victory of the campaign.

Espanyol looked like they had this one in the bag especially taking a commanding a 2-0 lead inside the opening 25 minutes with the help of their new signings over the summer Samuele Longo and Sergio Tejera.

However, Levante started to fight back at the start of the second half to draw even with quick strike goals from Juanlu and Christian Lell and then, their set back was losing star striker Vicente Iborra to a red card in the 82nd minute, the home team had points taken the points when Michel's cross was deflected in three minutes in stop time.

Malaga vs Levante Predictions: 3-1

Malaga has a couple good things going for them. They are playing in front of their home crowd and 2) they can run up the score in a hurry. Levante is not as quick upfront and so they will have a hard time with Malaga’s midfielders. Look for an easy win for Malaga.

Real Madrid just came off of a smashing against 3-0 last Sunday at home and an even a more impressive victory over Barcelona 2-1(H) last week. Real Madrid though going through some distractions about their franchise player Ronaldo wanting to leave the team. Ronaldo claimed “It’s professional issues” but ,nothing to want to be traded over or leave the team. Real Madrid still the world class organization that they are sits in the middle of the standing with 1 win,1 loss and 1 draw.

Sevilla vs Real Madrid Predictions: 1-2

Sevilla with the home crowd behind will make this still an interesting match to watch but, I don’t think they have enough to contend with Real Madrid .This though would be the time for them to come out of their offensive funk it just won’t be in this match . Real Madrid will take this one on the road.

Sunderland starts the Premier League with 2 equalisers recently coming from their away match against Swansea City 2-2(A). Swansea totally dominated them with 11 more shots on goal 15(7) to Sunderland’s 4(2). Swansea had 8 corner kicks to Sunderland’s 0 and time of passion was dominated by Swansea as well 64% to Sunderland’s 36%. On a positive note with all that being said their defense was good enough to keep Swansea at bay.

Liverpool Preview

Liverpool comes into this match with a recent loss to Arsenal 2-0(H). Their home fans should be highly disappointed with their play after being blanked. Liverpool dominated the shots on goal 19(4) to Arsenal’s 11(5) and also held the ball longer then their counterparts 53 %( Liverpool) to Arsenal’s 47%. On paper, Liverpool looked like the better team but, in reality it was Arsenal who ran away with the victory. The Reds are in a tremendous scoring slump just being able to come up with 1 score in their last 3 matches. This is a much needed win for them against Sunderland. Liverpool has to get on track here.

Sunderland vs Liverpool Predictions: 1-2

Liverpool will get their long awaited win vs Sunderland. This is the game where they will put their offense to use this season. Liverpool is a much better team then we’ve recently seen. I see them much like their game against Arsenal controlling the tempo of this match.
