    2012 Australian PGA Championship

Punters have forgiven John Senden for blowing his second successive 3rd round lead at the Australian Open last weekend and backed him into $9 favouritism to win the Australian PGA Championship at Coolum beginning Thursday.

Sportingbet Australia spokesman Andrew Brown said Senden has been by far the best backed competitor.

“Within 10 minutes of us opening the market one punter backed Senden to win $12,000 and it’s been one way traffic for him since,” Brown said.

2008 winner Geoff Ogilvy is second favourite at $10.00 ahead of defending champion Greg Chalmers at $13.00 and Marc Leishman at $19.00.

“There has been a few nibbles for Nick O’Hern and considering he has won the event twice and never missed the cut at Coolum he could be value at $21,” Brown said.

Sportingbet punters have also supported Peter Senior to win his second big tournament in a week.

“Senior was $71 before the Australian Open but there’s been plenty of interest in him to win at Coolum at the much shorter odds of $34 after he turned back the clock at the Lakes last Sunday,” Brown said.
