Punters are convinced Queensland will be celebrating a record eighth successive State Of Origin series victory on Wednesday night, with the Maroons heavily backed into $1.56 to win the game 3 decider.
“Around 90% of the money we’re holding is for Queensland and I can’t see that changing before kick-off,” Sportingbet Australia CEO Michael Sullivan said.
“It’s been one-way traffic for the Maroons since they taught the Blues a lesson in game 2 and I haven’t been able to write one decent bet for NSW,” Sullivan said.
The Blues’ odds of winning game 3 and the series have drifted dramatically from $2.00 to $2.50 since game 2. Queensland’s odds have firmed from $1.80 into the current quote of $1.56.
Prop Matt Scott has been the best backed to be Man Of The Match, with his odds firming from $26 into $17.
Billy Slater, Darius Boyd and Greg Inglis are $9 equal favourites to score the first try.
