Rugby World Cup - Quarter Finals

With the Pool stage of the 2011 Rugby World Cup out of the way, we now enter the business end of the tournament.

Apart from New Zealand vs Argentina, the bookmakers are finding it hard to separate the sides, with no more than a 4.5 point head start given in any of the other fixtures.

Below are the latest odds (subject to change):

    My tips are:

Wales (a possible dark horse for the tournament)
    England
    South Africa
    New Zealand

The odds are 7.17 that I get all four results right.

Given the tight kicking based games of the northern hemisphere sides some of my other picks are:

    Double result:
    Draw-Wales (@ 19.00)
    Draw-England (@ 19.00)

Wales have played some entertaining rugby so I hope they get past Ireland. Like most people, I'm not fussed about England v France. NZ v Argentina will likely just be a question of margins. South Africa v Australia should be the best game of the weekend. I won't be touching that game from a betting perspective, though, too hard to gauge.

I like the double result picks. Looks like admin does too

I'm quite chuffed with my Wales pick, but the England loss doesn't surprise me. You never know which French team will show up. I came so close to backing France @ 3.00 just before kick off...
